Is The Stryfe X Tournament Ready?

    This throwback form factor of a blaster is a nostalgic hit for sure, but does it compare to a basic modded Stryfe for tournament use?

    How can you say it's tournament ready if you haven't used it in a Nerfball tourney??? Think Jangular!

      I clearly missed that important factor, the entire review is now invalidated

      True… should’ve flown out for my Nerfball vid 👀

    Having handled this thing, the only thing I'd change for a tournament is adding a flared magwell (and adding a shoulder stock and red dot for personal preference). It otherwise incorporates every element I'd want in a manual pusher brushed flywheeler for tournament use, so I'm excited to see new players be able to join the competitive side with this off the shelf product without needing 3d printing, soldering, or other modification skills.
    Obviously for those who do want to tinker, solenoids and brushless motors offer competitive advantages but tinkerers are a different group of buyers than the target market for the Stryfe X so it meets its goals well!

    Great video! I agree with a lot of what you said. I always enjoy this series because of the unique lense with which you view the blasters.

      I think waiting for a sale make sense, and thanks for watching :)

    For me, its a another "one day, when i have the money to waste" blaster. I am extatic that Nerf and Has-been are FINALLY getting with the program, but expensive, high-performance blasters are just out of my budget right now.

    • @Jangular
      @Jangular  Před rokem +2

      I think that's a totally reasonable way to look at it, it's not the cheapest blaster, and it's likely to go on sale at some point

      The timing is just off by a little bit which is unfortunate, but I typically recommend against using a brand new blaster in a tournament anyways, you want to put a little time in with a blaster before an event. Though there is the argument that if you've used a Stryfe before you'd be mostly comfortable with it.
