- The surprise blaster of the year so far, the X-Shot Longshot has exceeded my expectations for $30, but enough to be considered tournament ready out of the box?

After finishing putting this video together I put a 10kg spring into the blaster and immediately had the creaky sounds and feel of the thin plastic popped up, unsurprising but worth mentioning for durability concerns.
I wonder how well filling the voids with epoxy would do for helping that?
The best mod you can make without any risk of cracking the internals is to teflon-tape the o-ring that is sealing the plunger from the rear. Second teflon tape should be added to the bit that goes into the breach, there's a small o-ring there. Third one on the plunger's o-ring (this oring is horrible). This alone stabilizes the spread in FPS results and leads to an ungodly nice seal - that when you plug the barrel with your finger the chamber empties by less than 1cm per second and you can instantly see increase in power.
Second thing is adding a longer barrel, but in UK getting barrel the right internal diameter is almost impossible without paying nonsensical money.
Dry fire sounds horrible due to stopper spring in the plunger. Nothing really that can be done apart from adding a rubber/foam on the plunger ring.
Love the idea of easily improving the seal for greater consistency!
Highest quality vid in this series so far imo, awesome review. I love the competitive focus on the blaster reviews
Thank you ☺️ glad you're enjoying them and that the quality is improving
Was great meeting you at Rag this year 👍
Good init? Especially for the price. It's worth getting a metal plunger tube though. Oh, before I forget, It'll also take Katanas. (And the mags that come with the Unicorn).
Love universal, or near universal magwells, there's definitely a lot to be happy about with this, expecting to see a lot of community designs and mod kits for it
@@Jangular Me too. One of my pet hates is proprietary magazines. Feels like the blaster is a "loss leader", like a cheap inkjet printer. I don't mind carrying a spare magwell adapter for blasters like my Ceda S, or Brassed Retal or Sentinel, but if nowadays, EVERYTHING should at least take Talons. Looks like X-shot learned from their previous mag-fed blasters!
as someone who likes to play in cramped indoor arenas with blaster was a godsend
Another quick and clean review! I'd love to see you mod this and see what you think about it afterwards.
Thanks 😄 already popped a new spring in it for a potential loadout video, will see what else gets done to it lol
I'm very curious what your thoughts will be on the Unicorn if you make a video on that, kinda wanna see you how feel about it compared to me after I used it in a BTA format and Speeddart format with UNO
I've got most of the footage done for a video on the Unicorn, just a matter of when it'll come out depending on what else there is. I hope it was a solid blaster for you in comp!
The sear for this blaster follows the pump, which allows for the slamfire. Because of that, the trigger never engages the sear until the pump is in the forwardmost position, therefore, at least stock, the blaster can never be deprimed.
That's great to know, thanks for sharing!
Will you do the worker seagull?
You can not deprime the blaster because it has slam-fire. You've always had to choose one OR the other. This one has slam-fire.
Always a bummer that it has to be sacrificed
Love mine. I weathered the paint scheme on mine, replaced the pump grip and added a scope. Waiting on a 40cm barrel and scar delivery...
Nice, hope the performance is great for you
@@Jangular it was great out of the box, but I'm a tinkerer :D
I totaly know what you mean about needing a deprime.
It sounds nasty when dry fired, and even if you realise you hacve an empty chamber you cant just Plug the barrel to fire it if you have the included 'flash hider' on. (I know, just thake it off...)
The other issue with the drifire is, because of the configuration, the plundger is right by your ear so if you dont realise you are out of darts, you defan yourself as well..
Honestly I would buy it if it were $50. I love my long shot, it’s amazing.
I have a silly question. Which spring _(that can actually be bought somewhere, i.e., NOT "put a stock Longshot CS-6 spring here")_ would bring it DOWN to 120-ish FPS for games with that cap?
Mine hits really hard for some reason it chronos high of 190 fps my air seal is paerfect stock too
its an ok blaster but the options now a days are amazing
Absolutely true there are more and more great options available to us now
Good vid thank you
Thank you! :)
I k25'd it w a new barrel and its hitting 260. It made my buddies kid cry and point blank i have a welt on muh belly from 2 days ago. It neither creaks or feels flimsy.
That seems to be the go to combo I'm seeing
I really want to get one but I keep having this nagging feeling that something even better will come out as soon as I do. I have a Nexus and though I don't really need it because I have plenty of printed primaries, it's still useful, especially with the OOD tuning cap to bring it down to HvZ FPS levels. However, it's been outclassed in nearly every way by the Trion. I haven't bought a Trion yet and sure enough, shortly after it came out, the Longshot/Bullshot has come out and delivers similar results at a much better price.
It's hard to think that anything will come out soon that will match this price and be better overall, this is way lower price than I would expect. It really does come down to whether or not you'd use the blaster, if you have blasters that would serve the same purpose already, then you could wait, always a matter of perspective.
At $30 as an adult player … I say it’s an instant grab. At bare minimum it is the best cheap loaner you can get. Trion is great but $80 is a harder pill to swallow and the ceiling on performance is a bit lower.
@@kingofgames234 At $30, it's a consumable.
@@kingofgames234 For me, the $50 difference is easy enough to handle. I think it’s a matter of aesthetics and I like the Trion better.
@@KevinNerfs that is totally fair! The trion is a really good looking blaster
😉 "promo sm"
Realized today that the Xshot Longshot is a cheap mass produced Lynx. The mechanism is entirely the same.
