    The bags were never really meant for storage. They are for charging in, and even then the protection is there just long enough for you to get them out of the building. As for storage - left at storage charge they won't catch fire if kept at sensible temperatures and humidity. That last bit is where the problems come in as a lot of people keep their lipos in sheds, garages etc subject to heat, cold and damp. Putting them in a metal box is not a bad idea as such, but where you keep that box is more important. Incidentally running an RC club I've seen a few lipo fires and they were bar one exception (a piece of metal punctured a lipo) down to operator error. That is either incorrect charger setting or trying to use lipo's that were obviously puffed up and unsafe. Never heard of a single case of a lipo not connected to anything go up in flames.

    I've always been wary of lipos but now that I've started flying drones and putting lipos through some seriously aggressive charge cycles and crashes, they can actually take a lot of abuse. I store and charge them in a fire proof bag but am only really proactive when they are charging or discharging since that is where something would be most likely to happen. I always have a fire extinguisher close to where I store lipos as a just in case.
    And when I'm not home, near my lipos or long term storage they go into a fireproof metal container.

    Bat-safe is pretty good designed. the vents are good to release pressure. a good charger is necessary too. always storage charge your lipo battery if not in use.

    I’ve never had a problem with my lipo bags. Mind you I only have 4 lipid for nerf. I used to have heaps for RC drifting though. Never had a problem. These sounds great though!

    Hey Jangular, hope you have been well. Those 2018 videos of Nerf Endwar, and also those BURN videos as far back as 2014 have been useful to rewatch - funny how the world turned upside down and these events have been cancelled. No one can know the future - and I'm sure making those videos have helped people get through this.

    I was kinda sceptical at first but given how cheap they are I'd say this is probably worth it for a lot of people. Not sure if I personally would get one but I will definitely recommend them in the future. For me though I'm happy enough with the lipo bag and a hard plastic case.

    Looks at lipos casually scattered around house >_>

    the mini would be perfect for the most important part "charging at home" .. i guess bat-safe knows that removing the cable hole on the mini makes it pretty much pointless unless using it to store a single battery, but seriously when EVER did a lipo in storage blow up?
    like 1 out a billion ? .. statistically, the danger is when charging. which would be just the perfect application for the Mini, as it would hold only the one battery that's charging.

    This video was very helpful, it made me more conscious of where and how I store my batteries. One problem is integrated lipos in blasters. Do you take the batteries out and have to open the blaster up just to put the battery back? I'll look into getting one of these in the future. Thanks for the psa type video

    I just keep my one spectrum 3s g2 battery in the mid size bat box with 2 small lipo bag over it with about 15 cement bricks around it for my arrma outcast .. I’ll see how it goes

    I bought one as well, also going to purchase a fire extinguisher as an extra precaution at home and at the track. Money well invested!

    For me it looks like the big one is good for charging your 2 batteries. The mini is good to store all your batteries. So you have 5-10 of this mini boxes for all of your batteries... The more boxes you separate your batteries the lower the risk for a chain reaction... But sure 10 minis and one big box that is a lot of $$$$$$

    • @Jangular
      @Jangular  Před rokem +1

      That would definitely be a pricy investment, but if you're using them a lot and want the peace of mind it's something to consider

      @@Jangular Yes it is a good felling to know you did a lot in security. I'm unhappy that I fear so much possible accidents... So since a week or so I realize that i need to invest also a lot of money in storage. That was something i had not predicted when started with the hobby. Because at the moment i have not so much money. But to buy huge number of small Bat-Safes has a high priority for me now... And it is not only the storage that is epensive but the space of real estate you need for that. I'm living in a country with very expensive real estate...

    I don't keep my lipos in any sort of bags, I just keep them separated from anything that could puncture them and make sure to retire them if the become puffy.

    I've just bought my first rc car its an Axial SCX24 Jeep and uses a phone type charger. How safe is the mini bat box when the wires will be hanging out the side? Does that compromise the seal?

  • @MarenW21
    @MarenW21 Před 7 měsíci

    100 percent agree! Lithiums are causing a lot of fires.. More so now with all these EV cars around. I have only a few like phone, toothbrush and 2 Stiehl lithiums for lawnmower and ALWAYS worried... I looked in all the safety shops in new Zealand and nothing.. Then I found batsafe online next door in Australia.. Ordered the xl metal version.. A lot of money but glad I didn't settle on the cheap bags from amazon... It could potentially be life saving! I am worried that there's no awareness for these products with the amount of lithiums people have in their houses.. They should be stocked EVERYWHERE

    How long did it take for you to receive the package? Did it come through DHL? I just ordered the XXL for my e-bike batteries and it's been a week since I've last heard from them (via email) I spammed them concerning my order cause I felt like It was possible that I was being scammed. We'll see I guess…👀
