    Can any native Hebrew speakers confirm: is 'shtuyot bemitz' short for 'shtuyot bemitz agvaniyot'? It's something my Israeli dad used to say a lot

    • @afekelimelech3325
      @afekelimelech3325 Před 3 lety +44

      well yes, the "agvaniyot" part means tomatoes, so instaed of an ordinary juice you know have tomatoes juice.
      It makes it more funny and nonsensical. not really a short but more of an other way of saying the same thing.
      When you want to say that something does not make any sense you can definitely say: what?? that is shtuyot bemitz agvaniyot!

    “Yalla” - it’s “lets go, come on” but also “aw man” like when something strikes out you’ll be like “Ya Alla... “ You say the "Ya" first.. pause a little and then "alla", same word just say it different. you can also say it in different ways haha
    “Ma Ani Ez” can also be used like this, when for example you friend tells another friends to come with him and leave you out so you can say to him “what about me?? Ma Ani Ez?” Haha
    “Tachles”- can also mean Truth. Like I say something like that “dude, animal cruelty is so wrong” so you can say “Tachles” like “true that”
    Or when a friends says something and you wanna tell him he’s actually right you’d say “Tachles, You’re right”
    “Pa’am shlishit Glida” can be used to say when sometimes has happened more than twice like if I see the same person twice at the same day and then I saw him again I will say that, and it’s like you owe me glida haha ice cream.
    How come they didn’t put SABABA in here!! Haha

      @wownouser actually it does have to do with god. Muslim warriors added the letter Y (or yud) to the name of their god and used it as a battle cry. The meaning is "I swear in God". Then it went on to become a common phrase for engaging people in anything, such as "Yalla let's finish this scene already" :)
