    Andy built me a K24 for my RSX type S a few years back, turned out beautiful. I guess you can call him the K Series guru. He is a excellent mechanic and very timely, but most of all his pricing is quite reasonable.

    Are you limited to manual transmission in this series? I heard you talking about milking power from every angle since you're HP limited and a few people are installing BMW DCTs into their S2000s. Shifts ungodly fast and would help against your battles with detuned vettes and whatnot.

    again with the its just a $1000 engine. gtfo. In order to make the engine a RWD setup and to get power up to f20 standards costs more than a $1000. not sure how much

      @iamjaycorbie Před 11 měsíci +2

      In terms of the K24 itself, you can find them for $1000. However you’re correct in saying that it costs more than that to get it “up to standard”. The swap alone costs around 8-10k depending on how ocd you are about new vs used parts. I’m speaking from recent experience. I just got my k swap from these guys at ASM and where I thought I was gonna spend maybe 8k, I’m about 10-11k in right now due to needed new parts apart from the swap package. No fault of ASM’s though. I think it’ll be worth it in the long run from an affordability standpoint based on the F series being harder to get parts for etc. However, I do prefer the sound of the F over the K series.

    • @kenS87
      @kenS87 Před 11 měsíci +3

      He's speaking about the serviceability of the engine. You can hoard all the K20/k24 blocks right now and race for years compared to relying on the low amount of used F20 engines on the market. A bolt on k24 with a k20 head will make more HP than a f20.

    • @rgled10260
      @rgled10260 Před 11 měsíci

      @@kenS87 of course it will, it’s bigger displacement. If you use a k24 crank on the F20 and turn that into an F24c it would still match or beat it

    • @kenS87
      @kenS87 Před 11 měsíci +4

      @Phil Gledhill the K24 has a lower compression and the bigger displacement is only good for torque. The f20 is maxed out for its NA potential and requires costly upgrades to bump HP. The k series just has more bang for your buck when modifying it.
