Not a fan of the taps. Its easy to know where you are in the net if soend time there. I did the taps as a kid before the butterfly was a thing. Now that things have changed i feel youre wasting time reaching over even if it is just a foot. Take that time to position yourself. If they are coming in from the boards (at my rink) and they get to the blue line at the board, your right foot should be at or just over the point of your crease. If they are at the left blue line at the boards your left foot is at or just over the point of the crease. If they are coming in center ice, you should know where center of the crease is because youve been standing there. Take that extra time to get out in front and start making your adjustments. No sense coming out a second or 2 late because you're tapping a post you already know is there.
Great tips. Really important to start at your net when the play enters the zone and move out to the top of your crease as the play enters.
That's real. Always know where you are in the net to be square to puck. Great tip!
I’m a 65 year old goalie being doing that for years but I don’t c younger players who do that
Just keep getting out of your net. Near the blue line would be preferred.

It’s called inside out.
