Our game is being dismantled bit by bit. Premiership teams should not keep getting their way. All league sides rely on replays for income. Magic of the Cup is evaporating.
Most fans yearn for the past, as it’s just about the top 6 constantly.
What about the other 86 teams?

  • @Dean256

It’s getting to a point where football is being ran by outsider business people who have no interest in the history of the game. The FA Cup final has always been the last game of the season and the finale of the season. The premier league want the finale to be there league so they have agreed this and totally ignored the lower league clubs as they know they don’t have the money to take them on. As for the abolishment of replays this is just as bad. It’s disgusting…

Its absolutely disgusting, clearly once again tipping the scales in favour of the bigger clubs.
AND while we are at it, moving the semi finals to Wembley AND the final is nothing but an FA swindling cash grab.
If they cared about the integrity of the game, the fans experience they wld have left it at neutral grounds where special memories have been made for decades. All they have done is grabbed the revenue to pay off Wembley debt and diluted the final as a special experience and passed on even more expenses to the fans who have to travel again to London.
Enough... All fans need to start speaking up.

Football isn't a sport - its a business. Since the formation of the Premier league in 1992. The 'big clubs' (side note - i think the size of a club is purely down to your own retrospective) want everything for themselves. It's dead. We'd all be better playing the sport ourselves. Much better for you body - helps you feel part of a real community and team. that's my friday morning preaching out of the way for today, go enjoy yourselves...

I think in an attempt to reduce the fixture congestion and bridge the gap between the PL and the EFL they should expand the PL from 20 teams to 2 tiers of 16 teams each (30 game seasons), sharing revenues across 32 clubs in the pyramid instead of just 20. This would allow the EFL to focus on 60 teams instead of 72 and they could have 3 divisions of 20 teams each (the 3rd tier and a 4th tier north and south). Regionalizing the 4th tier would reduce travel expenses for the bottom 40 clubs in the 92. They should also add an extra relegation and promotion spot to encourage movement between the leagues and reduce how desperate clubs operate to gain promotion. There should be 4 promotions/ relegations between the 4th tier and non league also.

No way are these new rules going to enhance the FA Cup. The competition is becoming less appealing every season ... except for watching the numbers being drawn out of the hat ( Bowl ) if the FA want to enhance and bring back the sparkle to the competition then go back to the old traditions that once made it exciting to watch. The FA Cup needs the whole of the old traditions that made it special in the first place - All games to be played on Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm with replays in midweek at 7:30 pm, Semi Finals to be played at neutral grounds ... we have some great new stadiums now for the Semi finals to be played, The Final at the END of the season with a 3:00 pm kick off on Saturday afternoon.

To save you watching the video, those proposed 2024/25 FA Cup changes, in brief:
    1. No replays
    2. Preliminary Rounds and Rounds 1 to 5 to be scrapped. The competition atarts with the Quarter Finals, featuring the PL top 8 clubs at the end of this season. This removes the need for lots of one sided matches and means less fixtures for all clubs, as well as saving on travel for all those clubs who have no chance of winning the FA Cup.
    3. The top 8 clubs will all feature their reserve teams (no real change there then).
    4. Proposal that the 2025/26 FA Cup will scrap all rounds and just have the Final, contested by the two clubs with the biggest bank balances (as usually happens anyway).
5 Proposal that the 2026/27 FA Cup scraps the Final and the cup will be awarded to the club with the biggest bank balance.
    6. From 2027 to the forseeable future: see number 5.
Hope that helps to clarify things

We need to create a law to disclose player salaries.
European football leagues must disclose salaries I don't understand why many football fans are against revealing players' contract salaries. I think player salaries are either too low or overrated. I think Haaland's annual salary is over $50 million. Honestly, there is no way the EPL salary would be that low. Does anyone know anything about Mbappe's contract? Why didn't you make it public in the first place? I don't know if it's after tax or before tax. The media always says different things. The same goes for the salaries of Griezmann and Suarez during their time in Barcelona. To begin with, La Liga is not sure whether some players' salaries are before or after tax. Always changing. First of all, the salaries of Messi and Ronaldo from 2011 to 2018 are estimated to be after-tax salaries.) And this is not accurate regarding Messi's contract. Laporta said Messi's salary must be paid until 2025. How much did he get paid? And many believe Mane's wages at Liverpool were £100,000 a week. First of all, Mane's agent said his salary is higher than reported in the media.American leagues disclose salaries. Messi's annual salary for 2023, as revealed by the MLS Players' Association, is $20 million. The base annual salary is $12 million. The media reports that it is over $50 million, but in reality it is much less than this. Conversely, if you look at the wage bill, EPL clubs spend more money than the media reports, with Manchester City spending more than 300 million pounds, and Liverpool and Chelsea spending more than 250 million pounds. (Please disclose player salaries, contracts, and salaries.
And why are some people asking (there will be comments asking why I don't disclose my salary, but I'm an ordinary person. Are ordinary people and sports players the same? And there is FFP in European soccer) La Liga also has a salary cap. If I were a soccer player.I would agree to disclosure of my salary. i am asian. Why do people who are opposed to revealing player salaries say that some players have high or low salaries? Football's wage is It's an estimate and unofficial. . , commentators, coaches, and even other players in the league don't know a player's contract and salary...As a side note, Saudi money is exaggerated. A Saudi reporter said that Benzema's annual salary is $50 million. Jordan Henderson's weekly salary was also not what was reported in the media

England is complaining big clubs dicating things? Go to Spain, Germany, and even France, and see what big club dictation really is.

In the first place, everything is centered around the strong, so why should the weak have an advantage? Honestly, the Big 6 are most popular, but no one knows about some Premier League teams. The big clubs rule everything.

Yes. It's a good thing. As a foreign fan (I'm not American), please abolish the promotion and relegation system.

@@uservg6wr1sp6p you clearly don't understand the reasoning behind it and how sports fans in the US etc now admire the risk and reward of relegation as their sports are stagnant and boring.

But the FA cup isn't the world cup. I don't get your point. Do you think getting rid of a second leg in the champions league would make that better?

@@nb1d275 but a second leg is not the same as a replay, the scores from both legs are relevant. A "replay" is just boring, and if that it drawn as well anyway it's decided on penalties, so why not do it the first time itself?
