Dorking Wanderers owner and manager Marc White says the decision to scrap FA Cup replays from next season is a "significant loss" for English football.
The FA Cup will no longer have replays from the first round proper with fixtures now set to be played exclusively on weekends.
The FA and the Premier League revealed they have reached a new agreement for a minimum of six years to "strengthen" the competition with "new and exclusive calendar windows".

And there you have it: "ask any owner of a Championship team or below whether they are in favour of ditching replays and they would say absolutely not." Great point too, Mark, about neutral venues for FA Cup semi-finals.
How do we, the fans, get a U-turn on this disgraceful decision?

Losing TV money and possible lucrative replays from the 1st round onwards is an absolute stinker for lower clubs. What I dont get though is still having replays from the early rounds, there is a lot of potential travelling for non league clubs midweek, for hardly any gate money in the preliminary and qualifying round replays, which are usually played 3 days after the original date, so not much notice for the players to get time off work etc.

if each team could register different players - to a max of 25 of course - for different competitions, the teams that are playing in Europe can then decide how they manage that - do they have larger squads? - do they promote from their academies?

Surely going to penalties and getting through to the next round generates more revenue than playing a replay which you'll most likely lose?
This decision will almost definitely result in lower league teams going further in the competition. When you've just had a good enough performance to scrape a draw, it's much easier to win on extra time and penalties than it is to try and replicate that performance a second time on a different weekend. Most FA cup replays result in the bigger team going through.

Instead of having to get a result against a higher level side twice in the event of a draw (which is very unlikely in most cases) they can now potentially take the game that they’ve drawn to penalties and from there stand a good chance of progressing. Squad size of 23. PL teams play a minimum of 40 games if not in European competition. Sure, Man City and the like may well play 60 plus games but they have a depth of squad to cope with that. They also choose to go overseas for "prestige" friendlies during the mid season break, so it seems once again that the PL clubs want to have their cake and eat it. It's not the job of the bigger clubs to keep smaller clubs in business. A lot of these smaller clubs are so poorly run. However, I do think that smaller teams should be able to choose whether they play home or away in the FA cup tie. The German model of having the bigger teams play away may not actually benefit a smaller club due to the chance to eanr more through gate receipts by playing away.
