Summing it up

I figured out my hiss noise! I had been recording on battery and wasn't having any problems. I'd recently purchased a cheap power supply from Amazon for the R50 and that's what's causing the noise. So, maybe I shell out the bucks for the Canon power supply and hope it doesn't do the same thing? Or maybe I keep recording the audio to Garageband and sync it with the video... The garageband method does turn out some nice sounding audio.
Just found your channel. I recently upgraded from the M50 to the R50. I'm getting a bit of hiss on my audio, but I can live with that. Overall, the R50 seems to effortlessly do all the stuff the M50 was supposed to do. Webcam? Done. No extra app. Connect with the Canon Connect app? Done. Don't have to fuss with the camera and my phone every stinking time. Longer videos for vlogs? Done. One hour instead of 30 minutes. Great camera. I don't regret upgrading at all. Just wish I'd done it sooner.

Just a thought on the hiss with your audio - plug pushed in or can you test with another plug? I have had defective cables in the past. What mic are you using? I had an issue with a RODE wireless go that has been sorted. Good luck
I'll keep an eye out for them. As for my channel, well... get your PSA checked on your next blood test. Turns out it's an easy way to track your numbers. I think it's noise from the camera. When I hook the cable up to the M50 - no hiss. When I hook the same cable up to the R50 - hiss. @@cre8r61
@@cre8r61 The mic is an ATR2100x through a Vocaster. I record audio straight to the camera through a 6 ft audio cable. When I plug the cable into the M50 - no hiss. When I plug the cable into the R50 - hiss. So, I think it's the camera's electronics interference. But, I'm able to edit the background hiss out in post. Also, I apparently use words like "post" now. Lol.
@@ProstateCancerTRtR I’m sure you’ve tried re recounting the cable. I had an issue where the cable was close to a light. Maybe a shielded cable if you want to pony up the cash 💰

Canon R50 or Sony ZV E10 for beginner in 2023?
Tough question - depends on your requirements. R50 but with 16mm lens for vlogging or studio. Light weight Sony ZV-1 but battery life is abysmal. I’ve just bought power supply for the R50 to review for studio shooting - video coming later
