Absolute Champ. So glad he's the all-time leading goalkicker.

Doesn't get better. Forget Abeltt, Carey, Dunstall.......Plugger was the best of the lot.

Plugger was wondrous, formidable, powerful, and unstoppable. His record of 1360 goals will never be equalled nor will his 22 games with ten or more goals in a match. Ablett only played FF the last four years of his career as he was a goal kicking wingman and half forward flanker averaging 3.6 goals per game. Carey had 42 games where he kicked five goals in a match and in 32 of those same games, he had 20 plus disposals and five or more goals in the game.

A Tiger supporter, but spent some time down at Moorabbin in '82 in the Under 19's. Tony was already coming down for the Under 17 squad at that point. Loved watching this.

This is just exquisite Plugger goodness. As someone born in '83, he was my first and only childhood hero who, in my eyes, was the main shining light to our club, and to our winning or not. Every time the ball went inside 50 there was an anticipation among the crowd of something special. He was up there with other sporting greats in their field like Warne, or Jordan. He had an X Factor the likes we likely won't ever see again. And seeing he and Winmar at the 150th anniversary the other week, together, felt like soldiers back from the War, and having only a bond that they would know between them.

Love to know how many goals Tony kicked from Winmar passes. What a player Nicky was. Two of the great footy mysteries on this session...Jacko and Lockett in the same team...WOW! And Dixie Marshall...what were channel 7 thinking???? Thanks for this...don't even remember Tony wearing No 37...I was at the Carlton game in 89 and the Hawthorn game in 90. The two best games of footy I've ever seen. A shame they didn't win a flag with that team. If Tony stayed, 97 was a certainty.

If Lockett played in the Hawthorn teams that Dunstall did, he would of kicked 2000 goals.

Tony Lockett kicks 10.7 out of the Saints 13.18 against Carlton playing on the fullback of the century. The umpires give three Brownlow votes to Brett Bowey for his SIX possessions on the day...footy doesn't get funnier than that

They called him overweight, they said he was too slow. What a joke. Lou Richards was the worse he hated him because he wanted him at Collingwood. Over 10 mètres he was quick, and as a full forward why would you need anymore. A dead eye kick.

2:31:51 Sensational goal for the Big V - is that Winmar trying to tackle him just before Lockett snaps truly?

Tony took some great marks, but you never see one of them in the top 100 marks. Check out the one at 21:59

Had he not missed parts of five seasons, he would’ve had 1500 goals easily. He also would’ve had 350 games. Big, burly, barrel-chested, broad shouldered, tree trunk legs and kicked ten or more goals on 22 occasions. 145 times, he booted five majors in a match. Four Coleman Medals, six 100 goal seasons, co-winner of the 1987 Brownlow Medal, kicked a half dozen snags in his only GF appearance against North Melbourne yet he lost by a huge margin. Booted at least one goal in his last 108 games.

The best kick of a footy I ever saw growing watching him. Just the same drop punt routine time and time again. All you see down the park these days is little twats doing bananas and check-sides all day in the goal area, it's a joke. No wonder no players in the AFL these days can be relied upon directly in front.
