Lol Brad is all stoic but feeling it, and Lexi is in a trance but playing it cool⊠that final solo with the high low is the real deal
đ€Łâ€
Now I want Bill Medley to team up with someone just to record "Good. Take your stuff and leave." đ
I like the start but then past halfway it gets way too wild for my liking
Probably the most perfectly recorded pop song of all time. Awesome doesn't do it justice.
Iâm 72 years old and my grandkids canât believe how cool we were in the 60âs.
lol, y'all were the greatest
People used to fight for love. You have to if you want it to go the distance.
This is music right here. No autotune just great voices.
Thank you !!! Just real talent !
Everyone whoever heard of autotune pretends all modern acts use it not true at all. Most don't
@@allensaunders449 most do rock/rap does not, pop does
@@jts3628 no rock bands I have seen do mostly pop crap. It's a bigger thing with people who don't know what they are actually talking about. An ignorant cliche
Deep manly voices
When Lex said "Ooooh yeah!" You knew she felt that
This was the most played song on the radio for the 20th century.
This was the most radio played song of the 20th Century. Over 8 million plays.
R.E.M - everybody hurts I wont stop until you guys hear this!
Iconic. Was probably played in 100 movies and commercials.
when I see people on here react to this music video. they think its a black man. But respect they love that all cultures can sing. Old music knew how to sing not like today
Bill Medley (the one with the deep voice) and Bobby Hatfield were the Righteous Brothers. The name was coined when they were playing a gig in Southern California in the early '60s and two black marines came out of the club, saw them outside, and called out, saying, "That was RIGHTEOUS, brothers!" The name stuck.
"Lovin' Feeling" was their big breakout hit after the initial hit, "Little Latin Lupe Lu," which was written by Bill. Their follow-up to "Lovin' Feelin'" was "Just Once In My Life." Then they had two hits with Bobby singing solo, "Unchained Melody" and "Ebb Tide." They changed labels and recorded "(You're My) Soul and Inspiration," and then their star began to fade. By the late '60s, they had broken up. Bill released a solo hit "Brown Eyed Woman," which is excellent. About an interracial relationship, it was written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, who also wrote "Lovin' Feelin'" (with Phil Spector) and "Soul and Inspiration." In 1974, the Righteous Brothers reunited and had one last big hit together, "Rock and Roll Heaven." Years later "Lovin' Feelin'" and "Unchained Melody" became hits again because of their prominent roles in motion pictures.
Bobby died in 2003 soon after the duo was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Their induction night performance of "Lovin' Feelin'" is worth watching. Bobby had lost some of his range, but it was still a great performance. Bill now performs as one-half of the Righteous Brothers with a new partner, Bucky Heard. It ain't the same, but it's nice to see him still out there belting out the hits. On some nights, he does his own rendition of "Unchained Melody" as a tribute to Bobby.
As others have mentioned, the 1965 live performance of Unchained Melody by Bobby (in a pink suit) on NBC's The Andy Williams Show is, quite possibly, the most incredible live performance of a song ever captured on video.
The subtle growl in Bill Medleyâs voice when he hits those few notes is pure gold!
That's actually called vocal fry and is hard to make sound natural.
This was the most played song on tv n radio in the 20th century
Their faces say more than words, no woman could ever feel loss of love like a man does, its evolutionary,
No computers, no sound boards, just old fashion talent. You just don't see that much any more.
Soul and inspiration by the Righteous Brothers that's another good song
When the credits roll and weâre introduced to all the players⊠And the last shot is two F-14âs speeding away in the distance?⊠Yeah, the F-14 was the star of that show, no doubt..
That is blue eyed Soul. đ”đ¶
Blue Eyed Soul! RIP Bobby Hatfield.
I was 13 in 1964. My mother told me there was just one gift she wanted from me for Christmas that year. It was the single You've Lost That Lovin Feelin. My parents divorced early in 1965. I knew then the record was expressing her love for my father. I always remember those times when i hear this song. Such a meaningful song.
This was one of your best conversations.
This was the most listened to song on radio of the 20th century. Calling it a classic is an understatement
Just so you know this is basically the most played song of the 20th century.. happy birthday and Its a small world actually were played more, but they do not count
Blue Eyed Soul! They are Bill Medley (tall gentleman) and Bobby Hatfield. They are not brothers, but took the name after some black marines, from the El Toro Marine Base in California, heard them and said â Thatâs righteous, brothers!â Please react to Unchained Melody live 1965â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Is that true? Is that really how they got their name? Never knew that. Cool info!
ALL TRUE
@@drServitis Yes, it's true. Bill talks about it in his autobiography, The Time of My Life.
Very good! The Phrase Blue Eyed Soul was originally created by a Philadelphia DJ which has alot of fantastic Blue Eyed Soul Singers. Also this song is next to Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin the most frequenty played song in the History of Radio. It was written by the Husband/Wife Team of Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil.
@@drServitis Yup, def true. If you search "Bill Medley Interview" on CZcams, the 1st one is a vid posted 2015 by KAAB Fox San Antonio. At .042, Bill tells how they got their name from Black Marines from El Toro base (wish I could put in the link, but CZcams seems to be deleting posts with links). There are actually multiple CZcams interviews, of both Bill & Bobby confirming it, but this one with just Bill pretty well covers it.
Sometimes that's when you can begin your relationship going back and working it out
The live 1965 version of Unchained Melody is a MUST.

They already reacted to Unchained Melody back on September 29.

@@surlechapeau Thanks.
Unchained Melody for sure!!!!!!!!
One of the great songs of that era...
âAll Relationships Are Toxicâ Quote of the century Lex
Yes caught that too. Might be odd to hear this from a 66 yo bachelor living with his little dogs, but not all of them Lex. This may be a good song for you to check out soon...for a few reasons, not least of all the voice....czcams.com/video/IYzlVDlE72w/video.html
There in the rock and roll đž hall hull of fame
brad "the girls gone cold is half way oy the door it aint gona work" lex "you know what might go take your stff and leave" love it
The most listened to song of the 20th century
This was the most played song on the radio in the 2000's.
Righteous Brothers & The Blossoms - Night Time Is The Right Time. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
Now you've heard it life will never be the same a true love cry... we all feel it deep in our minds forever/ always uncertain if your lover feels the same way.. ( CLASSIC)...
Same
No auto tune back then! lol. They were awesome! When they sing it just reaches you in a different way....just full of heart & soul!
Theyâre not brothers. At a show when they finished their set a fan yelled out Thatâs righteous brother. And the rest is history.
Tom Cruise: "I think she's lost that loving feeling."
Goose: "Oh no she hasn't!"
Tom: "Yes, Goose, she has. Sorry."
Goose: I hate it when she does that lol
My favorite part in the movie
@@RoadHammer1972 was about to write thisâïžđ
And also the last scene of the movie then rolls into the credits with Tomcats doing barrel rolls. I had been to Miramar NAS back in the early 80s before it became Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.
thay called this blue eyed soul back in the day .
This brings back memories of 105.7 Magic FM in Cleveland, and of course, Top Gun.
@Cade Harvey O-H-
One of favorite oldiesđ I had my Mom's 45s &this one of my favorites đ
Bill Medley has the most amazing baritone voice Iâve ever heard
and raspiness to it
Yes, but everyone falls for Bobby's anazing counter tenor range.. They were just perfect together.
Every now and then a song is released that impacts on the landscape of modern music. I think this was one of those songs, musicians at the time were like 'Woah, we've got to up our game' in terms of vocals and production.
Facts
This song , it is masterpiece in all levels. Hard to match and cannot surpass.
It is one of those masterpieces.
My girlfriend way back when was in Vegas and Bill Medley called her up on stage and sang a love song to her. â€
This is one of most perfect pop records ever. The song, the emotive lyrics, their performance & the production all come together flawlessly. This is -in my opinion - a pop music masterpiece.
Totally agree.
Most women who heard this think they had a mad crush on one of these two. What they REALLY had was a desire for a man to love them with as much passion as this song expresses.
I've read that this was the most played song in the 20th century.
Probably because of Top Gun. đ€Ł
Folks, welcome to singing. And the Wall of Sound.
My dad and my uncle's would sing this song so much my dad actually could sing and could sound like the baritone brother
OUCH!!! Dang Lex! Dropping da bombs there at the end!
They were playing a military post when a black soldier came up to them and told them "That was Righteous, brother!" They were the original blue-eyed soul duo. And like Denise Riley points out below, no autotune, just guys who knew how to SANG!!!!
It was a club near the El Toro Marine base in Southern California. It was a black Marine(s) that gave them their name.
sheâs right. treat them as if you donât need em
Blue Eyed Soul, Blue Eyed Soul manâŠ.
Loved this song since I was a little kid. đđ
Definitely one of the best old school cuts of all time
Yeah...music progressed because of this song.
Number one song played on the radio in twentieth century. Came out in the early 1960's and was played on all different radio stations and genres across the dial (Rock, R&B, Pop, Country, you name it). It was called "panty dropping music" back then and was responsible for making lots of babies then and now. It melts the hearts of young ladies. I've been singing for 40+ years with my lady. I guess you can say that it works with old ladies too. ;-)
We called it Belly Rubbing music when it came out in '64!
đ„đ„đ„
Not so - it's just kept you guys young, that's all...
Lex,. I love all your reactions.đđđđđ
âThe Righteous Brothersâ are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duet Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medleyâs Lows and Bobby Hatfieldâs Highs they can hit every note on an 88 key piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary.
âYouâve Lost That Lovinâ Feelinâ was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century.
"Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965. Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby's use of "Runs" is brilliant. He is the master of the technique and started the trend. 7 notes just to say the word "I".... Their name came when they did a show in a smaller venue and a black man told themâŠ. You two Brothers are Righteous. They created the sound and set the table that all Soul Music fed from for decades to come.
In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovinâ Feelinâ" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......
"All relationships are toxic." She's dropping truth bombs on him. I miss Lex.
when you hear the term ,blue eyed soul , these are the guys they`re talking about !
Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield. Amazing.
Brad's happy. Lyrics laid right out at the beginning of the somg
It certainly seems that Brad has to understand the lyrics to like the song. I haven't seen them separate inside like the music but not the lyrics.
Live, no autotune, one take, music absolutely on point...class.
One of the classic songs of all time. They were the reason some music is called blue-eyed soul.
Such a Gorgeous Song.
Fun fact, Cher is one of the backing singers and it was the black community who named this duo who called them righteous when they heard them singing!!!
"black community"
No, it was, at most, a small handful of black people.
When you hear Bobby sing unchained melody it's possibly the best voice of all time.
:) ty
I like your presentation. you two have good vibe. Fun to watch you like this song.
PURE TALENT
Everybody looked middle aged back then, but the brothers were only in their mid 20s but so full of soul. No one could beg like Bill, or wail like Bobby. Try Soul and Inspiration, or Bobby singing solo, Ebb Tide or Unchained Melody.
"All relationships are Toxic" - Lexi
(Straight up TRUTH! hahah)
How far we have come. We went from these guys to W.A.P so sad
"oh that magic feeling, where'd it go"
Best male duet ever. Casse Closed
This is one of the most played songs in history. It's been in several movies and all over. Great song that will last for a long time.
Pure Soul...
Lol what a line to end on got me rolling...
"He knows what time it is". Best comment ever. Thanks.
Another fine example of Phil Spector's "WALL OD SOUND".
That performance gave me goosebumps!
Cher was one of the background vocal singers in the video.
They sang this in the movie "Top Gun" at the Officer's Club.
One of the background singers in this video is Cher.
Brad: "he knows what time it is"...I agree. There have been more updated and higher quality recordings of this song but there is something about this original that gives goose bumps!
With all due respect, I'd like to share my experience. I've been married for 22 years (since I was 17). We had/have a very special love for each other. You can see it in our love letters. We also had a lot of maturing to do. We've been through difficult trials and tests. The worst being the last few years. We lost that "lovin' feeling" over the years. Then at 13 years into marriage, we humbled ourselves and chose to honor each other. Had the marriage we always dreamed of for 6 years. Then the biggest trial hit and we were brought to the brink. It was so hard and terrifying to go through it and think of what we might lose! We lost that "lovin' feeling" again. We pressed on and did not give up! I got on my face and cried out to God like never before. I struggled to humble myself continually and apply biblical principles as I always tried to do. I fought for my marriage and family. My husband responded and humbled himself as well. We acknowledge our lack of wisdom and mistakes. We are slowly restoring our marriage. People need to toughen up, humble themselves, quit being selfish, do what's right, stay committed, and not walk away from a relationship, especially marriage, just because it's gotten difficult and we don't feel the love. My marriage may seem like or even be an exception, but we all have opportunity to grow and learn. We get stronger as we overcome. I think our marriage will be better then ever. That's my admonishment.
Amen
Thank you for sharing this with me đ
Most played song across the world đ facts
This is one of the most popular songs of all-time. It's been used in movies, commercials, over and over.
The bar scene
Goosebumps!
Another great Phil Spector production.
I can feel their heart's breaking while singing..not sure if it's about either of them, still WOW so much EMOTION with the words!!! LUV IT!!!
I feel the need...the need for speed!!!
Nothing like watching a Teletubbie reacting to Blue Eyed Soul!
One of only a few reasons why I'm glad I was born in 1961. This song has been with me all my life.
Brad always looks like he's trying to remember if he turned the Iron off.
Lol, I always thought he looked like he was pondering the mysteries of the universe. While Lex just always looks so happy, cute, and carefree. The Vibe Queen.
"Good, get your stuff and leave!" Lol, I almost fell off my chair! So glad I found Brad & Lex's channel.
