The man did this live ! No voice enhancements! And his mother was in the crowd ! Absolutely amazing performance !
@@hippylong they did not use reverb.
@@buckmeredith1720 They 100% use reverb, it has been around since the 60s, it was basically mandatory for any live playing.
@@DWQMusic, you are 100% wrong. I know it was around then, but not everyone used it.
@@buckmeredith1720 But you can literally hear the effects of reverb on his voice, it doesn't take away from his amazing voice, but reverb is clearly applied.
@@DWQMusic, he is doing that with his voice.
The studio version was used in the movie Ghost. The Righteous Brothers are a duo,but sometimes did solo work. Check out You've Lost That Lovin Feeling to see both of them.
Yeah, I've seen the longer version of this clip and just before the song starts the show's host is interviewing both of the Righteous Brothers and the other one jokes that he's not allowed to do this song as a duet because he thought it wouldn't be a hit and didn't want to record it, just before he walks offstage.
@@jmhaces yeah, that performance was on the Andy Williams Show.
That Loving Feeling was featured in a classic 80's movie, I won't say which tho ima let y'all guess.
Perfect example
@@jmhaces i think they asked the guy what he does while his brother sings it and he said âwell I cryâ lamenting not getting in on the song lol
The best part is the way he smiles, knowing that his parents were in the audience and so proud of him.
Ok because you talked to himđ€Šââïž
@@johnphillipsjr7238 i did in fact talk to him. in my Dreams. he told me to watch the full vIdeo of this very Performance where it iS announced a few times tHat his "proud parents" were In attendance. Then again, maybe it was just a dream.

@@LilNewo I could make it worse ... let me tell you what happened the other night ... :D
Due respect, Lexâs energy is thru the roof and Iâm feelin her vibe. He is a righteous brother and has maximum game in any era.
Brad looked totally bored by this performance, whereas Lex was super excited. Bobby Hatfield absolutely nailed this song. Total perfection
Brad doesn't like music apparently
Bobby Hadfield, and Bill Medley were the real McCoy. lol
Lol someone said he always looks like heâs watching a dryer at the laundromat. Facts đ you could tell sheâs heard this and was really excited to show him and see his reaction.. yet he acted unimpressed. Itâs like when you show some enthusiasm for your boyfriends baseball obsession, you show love and appreciation because THEY are into it. His first word after the song ended
âo-kayyyyyâ đ lame
Can't have a reaction channel without a reaction. Thank you Lex. But it's wonderful that Brad is along for the ride.
If the emotion in this performance generates no reaction, you have no soul and no love emotion in your body!!!
Blue eyed soul. This was done live. No auto on tune just one great voice.
It sounds familiar because you heard it in Ghost. Btw, this is a live version, with no stakes, no auto tuners. He's just that talented.
I think the reaction by Lex is priceless! She totally gets the message!
Lex: I love that song
Brad: ok
Might want to check him for a pulse Lex
Stoic
I agree...looking at his eyes during this video, I detect zero emotion. He's like "it's OK, I guess". ???
Iâm unsubscribingâŠI hope this dude learns how to play an instrument some day
đđđ
Severely lacking in personality
Brad acts like heâs in line at the DMV.
LOL, Thanks!
Probably a good poker player
Brad, the stone-faced, ice-runs-through-his-veins, reactionless reactor. I held my peace when âSince Iâve Been Loving Youâ failed to elicit a single emotion. But I draw the line when the multigenerational consensus that âUnchained Melodyâ is the quintessence of romance and passion and Bradâs only comment is âwhat 90âs movie is this from?â
If you listen to the songs younger people listen to today it makes more sense why songs with harmony and melody are like speaking an entirely different language. Music (especially post 2015) doesn't need any melody at all nowadays. And people vibe with that.
So I think he's just not vibing with sounds from the 20th century. Lex on the other hand grew up on older music, so she has some basis to identify what makes each decade sound unique.
If they have kids hopefully they give them a good dose of some of these 20th century hits they've been discovering on this channel.
đ€Ł
@@cagnazzo82 Media has spoonfed listeners within they're own generation good stuff, and then a lot if junk. But my hats off to anyone willing to explore beyond their own generation. It may be difficult for some to relate in the limited experience or confines of what they have been spoon fed for profit. not many will listen to bebop jazz for example
@@cagnazzo82 That explains why her ear is more tuned in to nuances in music. Good observation. But much praise for him branching out and listening to music from different genres and eras.
Yeah it gets very frustrating. 'Okay...' he says blandly.
- Lex: "OOOOhhh wow, yeah, I love this song!!"
- Brad: "ok"
'90's Classic' đ
Lex: "Whooo, woah, I love this song".
Brad: "The microphone is tiny".
I can appreciate Brad....I'm like him, my wife's like Lex (Yeah - I'm lucky)
That said, ON THE NOSE! That one floored me.
That about sums them up lol. I've seen quite a few reactions and Brad intrigues me. Can't tell if he simply has trouble with letting in feels and emotions, or that it's a type of autism that very intelligent people can have. They have trouble slowing down their thoughts and just letting an experience take them over. Though he doesn't even comment on Bobby's amazing voice. Either way, I suspect Lex drags him along to help him with that.
Lex seems to be smiling nonstop while Brad is keeping a straight face. I renewed my love for this song and for the Righteous Brothers in general.
... and for Brad & Lex! â€
On This Particular Night,, He Was Worried About Doing His Absolute Best Because His Parents Were In The Audience...R.I.P. Bobby
đ â€
This is just Bobby Hatfield from the group. The Righteous Brothers "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" is next for you!! They both sing in that one, and all the others!
This.
Wasn't it the most requested song or something like that.
@@twatinahatsmith7428 i think most played or something of the 20th century
Let's go!
It's a duo, watch You've Lost that Lovin' Feelin' for both of them singing.
Hey Goose - I think she's lost that loving feeling!
Wait, no, but..... I hate it when she does that!
Pure raw talent! No gimmicks! I was 15 years old when I watched him sing this song live on the Andy Williams show in 1965. RIP Bobby! â€
The Andy William's (where I first saw the Jackson brothers and little Micheal) was part of our weekend. I still love Andy singing Moon River.
This performance was. Flawless !! No voice over no auto tune no lip syncing ! His mom was in the audience ! I believe it was the only time she seen her son live so he made sure it was unforgettable
probably one of the most talented male vocalists ever.
One of the greatest vocal performances of all time. His name is Bobby Hatfield.
The male watching this has no idea who he is watching. The greatest vocal performance of all time. Cultural difference. The has an opera voice and cannot see it...
Hi Brad & Lex, NO AUTO-TUNE!!! Small Microphone, but Huge Voice & Vocal Talent!!! Many artists have covered this song and some have done it justice, but in my humble opinion, no one has ever performed it like Bobby Hatfield (R.I.P.) of The Righteous Brothers, he absolutely owns this song!!! This "live" version is even better than the studio version!!! Mic Drop!!!
One of the best live vocals ever, and Brad has NO reaction whatsoever, just goes on and on about what movie it might have been in. No appreciation at all.
It's like watching water hit a block of lead while it soaks a sponge next to it.
@@mnomadvfx that is an enduring image, and so true of this 'reaction' that wasn't a reaction! :D
He is such a stick in the mud, unbearable. I have never heard him mention a solo, lead or drum fill. Why do a music reaction when there is no music appreciation or aptitude? Oh, ok, ka- ching. Lex is amazing and charismatic. Without her, who would bother watching.
Yeah, Brad is a dud.
I guess I was so entranced by her reaction, I didn't really notice.. still, maybe he's just not a "reactive guy" -- nevertheless.. if you do "reaction" videos.... um, please REACT! lol
Brad with the side to side sway and Lex with the up and down head bop every time. đđâ€
I know lol
"literally a micro phone"
that killed me xD
Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield were the Righteous Bros. This is Bobby Hatfield singing solo.
"It's amazing, Molly. The love inside, you take it with you."
Man he belted that out with no effort. It was in movie Ghost.
As soon as the song started playing, Patrick Swayze came to my mind, so I was pretty certain that it must've been in that movie.
@@easttexan8168 it was the studio version they used in the film. Everytime anyone mentions Ghost, Bobby comes into my mind. *sigh*
The song was originally written for a late 1950's movie named "Unchained" (hence the name) and was sung by a man in prison to his wife/girlfriend. The Righteous Brothers were two singers only one of which is featured in this song. They were HUGE back in the day. Check out "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" and "You're My Soul And Inspiration" for the duet.
You couldn't tell, but Bobby was very nervous as his mother was in the audience that night and this was a live performance. He knew that he nailed it as evidenced by the lip bite at the end. The notes he hit in the end couldn't be reached by most male singers. Many, many babies were born 9 months after this performance. This is what we called, "Baby making music."
The song is also fittingly referred to as a "panty dropper".
" Lost that loving feeling".
Soul and Inspiration
*You've Lost....
One half of The Righteous Brothers. This is Bobby Hatfield, the other taller fellow is Bill Medley. From a TV show in 1965. These guys were as popular as any Band or artist in the world at that time. Until they were on tv, a lot of people thought they were Black. "You've Lost That Loving Feeling," was their biggest hit.
Thanks
Much like I imagine many thought Dusty Springfield was black too.
You should check out the other really popular one âYouâve lost that lovinâ feelinâ. It has both guys.
The fact that that song actually made it into the plot of a film tells you all you need to know about it - truly incredible, and one of the best selling single records of all time too.
Then Brad can try to guess what film that was in.
It's famously used in Ghost. Even as a kid I cried a lot in that scene.
Itâs one of the most passionate performances Iâve ever heard. Iâm pretty surprised at the lack of reaction
This was one where at least lex appreciated the voice. They usually are completely nonplussed by any song that is well known solely because of the great singing. Maybe because they like rap and grew up with that? They seem to appreciate a good tune more.
These were songs that were prevalent in days before Narcissism replaced Love, and Ugly replaced Beauty.
You get what you Strive For, and we Are Not striving for Love, and thatâs a fact.
Do you live in a hole or a boat?
Lex: rocking back and forth absolutely loving every minute of the performance.
Brad: "Is this man is about to steal my girl through the screen?!?!"
Lmaooo
No auto tune, no effects. Just pure raw talent
The song is really just for one singer, that's why it's just Bobby.
Bill Medley had a prior engagement, it was announced, later on it was found to be a game of golf!
@@Quinctili Bobby always sang this alone. I have seen another live when some people got to wish for a song and when they asked for this song. Bill sighed and tongue in cheek said something like "of course you would choose a song that I'm not singing in" and walked off the stage.
This song is iconic and this was back when you had to be able to sing because they didn't have auto tune and all the miracles of electronics and these guys could sing their ass's off
Well put although we all have said that by now lol
Auto tuned in utero ...
This is the only thing that could possibly make me listen to this song for the millionth time. lol
This group had two singers. The members were Bil Medley and Bobby Hatfield. Bobby was the one singing here. He sang this song on his own because he won a coin toss. He was actually nervous here because his mother was in the audience. The movie this was in was Ghost.
This was my late husband's favorite song. We would always slow dance to it, every chance we got. (And he hated dancing, btw, lol) I miss this.
Simply the greatest love song ever. Bobby Hatfield's range was incredible and was showcased in this one. The girls in the 60s would melt every time they listened to this one. This was done LIVE on the Andy Williams show and the man didn't miss a note. Just incredible. Many have sang this song but Bobby owns it
Brad is so stoic....he keeps everything in check. Probably the single best live performance ever recorded & the power of Bobby's voice....he's just chill lol. (Meanwhile Lex is getting the groove!đ)...y'all missed the good version when Andy Williams does a good introduction of Bill & Bobby.
Highly recommend "British Guitarist" reacts to this. He really breaks down what Bobby Hatfield did here. Unreal.
I will check it out. Fil always does a good break down
Several voice coaches react to it also and do a good job analysing his voice and singing techniques
Fil is awesome. I'm there next.
Fil's breakdowns are so well done. I like that he has even gone over young guitar prodigies as well. He really knows what he's talking about. He does research on the musicians before he talks about them. I always learn something.
Yup, that's where I go when I want to learn something. This is where I go if I just want to let Lex's smile brighten my day.
I always enjoy watching Brad and Lex comment on a great performance, but their lack of appreciation, especially Brad's, for Bobby Hatfield's incredible performance is mystifying! How many people can hit those high notes, male or female, without showing extreme effort? Bobby looks so relaxed as he hits those notes without any apparent real effort. He makes it looks so easy, although we all know it is anything but easy. His voice is so soft and calming, yet attention getting! Bobby Hatfield was a master vocalist, and owns this song!
This song is beyond beautiful. The love is real and he makes you feel it. Well, most people see the strength of the love. Brad, not so much, but the small mike. Go figure.
The Righteous Brothers Bobby Hatfield (featured here) and Bill Medley would usually each do a solo as part of their act. This was done for live broadcast tv on the Andy Williams variety show in 1965. A studio version was used for the movie Ghost. The song has been covered by over 600 artists, but this live version is the gold standard. Lots of ladies across the country fell in love that night. Bill's resonant bass worked beautifully with Bobby's counter tenor. Their duets are legendary. Consummate pros.
This vocal performance is perfection. I question the humanity of anyone that isn't moved by it. I'm looking at you Brad!
"You've Lost That Loving Feeling," needs to come next, it's a duet of both of them.
Brad you just move from side to side with no feeling for the music but Lex reacts to the music like it means something
Soul and Inspiration, is a must for you, Righteous Brothers.
Good point Brad, after war or hard times we sure do appreciate more! And dang, the righteous Bros. put their heart & soul into what they sang!
I am amazed at your reaction
This live performance is considered to be the best live performance of a singer ever
& both of you never commented on Bobby's signing at all
Astonishing
They do that on every song known for a great singer. Just nothing.
The greatest live vocal performance ever, IMO
Nah that honor goes to Freddie Mercury of Queen during their live aid show.
@@opethdan2408 Have to agree and disageee with you. For me, the award for live performance of a single song goes to Bobby Hatfield. Freddie wins greatest concert performance.
@@aaronmelling3186 I feel that. We all have our different opinions and nobody is wrong.
Possibly the greatest song ever written and possibly the greatest vocal performance.
The Righteous Bros, Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley flipped a coin to decide who was going to sing this song. I'm sure Bill would have done just as good a job but I believe the right Brother won. đ€đ€đ€đ
That's what I heard, as well... And Bobby's parents were in the audience.
Bill did version of this as a tribute to Bobby. Check you tube
Pretty neat how Bobby does the main song used in Ghost, which was a big hit movie, and Bill Medley does a duet in the main song for Dirty Dancing, also a big 90âs hit.
Not only was this a very beautiful romantic song that was written January 19, 1955 NY a Mr. Hy Zaret, and sung by Mr. Todd Duncan for a prison film called "Unchained". As time went by "Unchained Melody" was the most played song in the Twentieth Century in America, Canada, and throughout the UK. Then later in July 13, 1990 another movie was made, "Ghost" starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg and singing "Unchained Melody" was a Mr. Bobby Hatfield formerly of The Righteous Brothers who sang it after going their own way after being a back up group for The Beatles. Not only that Mr. Bobby Hatfield had a pretty damn good singing voice to say the least an it was his rendition of "Unchained Melody" that was even better than Elvis Presley. Adios Amigos. Adios.
Bobby Hatfield. Blue eyed soul. One of the finest voices ever. Wonderful soloist. Terrific multi-octave pitch bending phrasing. A perfect match for Bill Medley as the Righteous Brothers. Check out Bill Medley's "Little Latin Lupe Lu". These two guys were some of the best singers ever.
Brad always has a perplexed look on his face when he listens to songs. Meanwhile, Lex is groovin' to the tune. Lol. Silly Millennials.
She needs to drop the Zero and get with a Hero! đ

Brad must know what he's doing 'cause he's with the effervescent Lex.
@@ckobo84 LOL! Alright, Van Winkle!!! đ

Check out Righteous Brothers singing You've lost that loving feeling. They sing this song together.
Every time I watch this performance, I think at the end "Man he knocked that right out of the park." Gives me goosebumps, not many songs do that.
one of my favorite songs from the movie ghost
Chills. So beautiful. Live. What a voice. Yes itâs been in many movies and covered many times. Itâs two brothers and they both sing. The other brother has an awesome voice as well.
An amazing live performance. No miming. No Auto-Tune, just pure perfection. Amazing.
I love these reactions with Lex introducing music she grew up with to Brad. She seems so happy and proud. Maybe Frankie Valli & the 4 seasons soon?
I love her reaction I feel the same way this guys voice is angelic such a fabulous singer
Lex, great reaction as ever, genuine, fun, and easy on the eye...Brad, so left brain it's unreal, becomes obsessed with naming the movie..
arguably one of the greatest voices of the 20th century - and you just know he got any girl he wanted!
It was in "Ghost"
The scene in Ghost, where they were sensually sharing the pottery wheel.
Think that was the studio version
Yawn .
I found this on a tape lying around my house. Soul and Insperation was the b side......as a 7 year old I played the 2 songs on repeat every night for months.
Now you MUST do You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling by the Righteous Brothers. One of the all-time greats.
The smoothest voice I've ever heard. They're both good but Bobby takes the trophy for sure
I loved seeing this reaction! When my wife and I were dating and dancing in clubs, more often than not, this would be the last song of the night. For us, this song always brings back fond memories.
â90âs classicâ from 30+ years earlier. BTW, this is half the Righteous Brotherâs. All their stuff was soulful harmony of note. Check it out.
The 6 was upside down.
When he said he felt like this was in a "90's classic movie" - I'm pretty sure he's talking about when it was used in Ghost with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze, which is definitely what reintroduced this song to a new generation. The sensual pottery scene with this song is iconic.
He said 90âs classic movie. He was right on, it was in Ghost.
Everyone is anxious to note classic refers to the movie Ghost, but theyâre reviewing a song made popular much, much earlier, and Iâd say the tune more âclassicâ than film.
One of the great performances of all time and as usual Lex is so tuned into the whole message and meaning of the song.... And as usual Brad u are so cold and unmoved by such obvious talent.... U say just Ok!!? I don't know brother... Open up ur heart
One of those songs when people say they're going to sing on a TV talent show....everyone is like, this will either be horrible or not as good as Bobby
Not a dry seat in the house, our Bobby is so smooth đ
This is probably the best live performance by anyone ever.
Watch Grand Funk " Inside looking out " Live in 1969 on PBS. . A different type of music . 3 kids with poor
equipment and this Live performance will blow you away.
Performed live at the Andy Williams Show with his mom in the audience. The wonderful vocalist was Bobby Hatfield, one of the Righteous Brothers Duo. The other brother being the incomparable Bill Medley, who sat this one out. Listen to the Drop performed "You've Lost That Loving Felling" The octave range demonstrated by Bobby on this tune was unreal. If you do not appreciate that performance, regardless of the genre of music you favor, one has to question whether you have any soul. These guys got the name of their group The Righteous Brothers, from a black man if memory serves me correctly, stating after listening to them, that they were righteous brothers. Their music was referred to as Blue-Eyed Soul.
Lex, you get the music and the vibe as you do with all your reactions. You could be an old soul such is extremely cool.
This song was just one of the two. Check "You've lost that loving feeling" to see and hear both of the Righteous Brothers sing. (Not actual brothers though)
Lex you get it and appreciate it love you! Brad you make me want to pound a nail in my temple!âźïžâ€ïžđđ

There were two Righteous Brothers (Bobby Hatfield, who did this solo, and Bill Medley). They both did solos on their albums. This show was done live on The Andy Williams Show. He had just gotten over a cold plus his mom was in the audience.

It was used in the film âGhostâ, 1990 amongst other films.
I see someone already beat me to that reference. đđ»
sometimes brad is like a dead man reacting. lol
He seems like he's trying to force the beat of the song to match the one beat he only ever has inside, instead of the other way around.
Sometimes? Ha!
Way before my time, but the song still gives me goosebumps, just like Lex's reaction. One of the greatest pop songs of all time, especially as he delivers it - effortless. "Ghost" in 1990 was the movie, Brad.
Simply the finest live performance ever done in my books bar none....
There are actually two guys but on this song itself only one guy performed it.
Simply put, when Bobby Hatfield sings this song heâs like a bee humming love to a flower for her sweet honey.
. . . and the panties proceed to drop.
50+ years later and the excellence of the lyrics, the melody and this performance are timeless
