- In this video I am showing you how to make a small zippered pouch to add to your cellphone sling. If you want to make the sling, check out my tutorial for that project here: • DIY Cellphone Sling
You will need the following cuts for your pouch: cut one exterior piece 6”w x 5”h and cut 1 lining piece 5¾”w x 5”h. (I used the same vinyl I used for my strap accents on my sling and a water-resistant material for my lining so I did not need any interfacing. If you are using quilting cotton, add a layer of a woven interfacing to the backside of your materials). Cut a small strip of vinyl/cork/leather the width of your hardware (mine is ⅜” wide) by 1½”h.
Additional materials and supplies:
• (1) small swivel clasp
• 6” of #5 zipper by the yard
• (1) #5 zipper pull
• 6” of bias tape
• ⅛” double sided tape
Here are the links to the materials used in this video:

BUT You are Fantastic in teaching and designing ........this has been a fantastic year for year, at least I think so.....and so many of my groups of bag makers etc.....we chat about your makes all the time and share pictures and markets and how well they are received. Thank You Very Much. Also I just found that Gigis is carrying your paper patterns, Yeah.........I do not have a printer and it get expensive going to have the patterns printed out.,, I love that we have options. Thank You.
Thank you for the feedback. I do use a mic and don’t find it hard to hear on any of my devices that I’ve watched from so it didn’t even cross my mind as an issue. Going forward I will make sure to crank up the sound when editing in the future. Sorry about that!
Cute and useful. Thanks, Linds.
I love love. Thank you
Thank you! Love your patterns❤
I’m so glad, thank you! 🙏🏻
Thank you Lindsey for sharing with us! I Love these little pouches 🤗thought I’d share a tip…it’s easier to install zipper with the lining facing out and run it all the way off. Then reinstall and pull it to the middle and both ends will be closed and no flipping or tacking necessary🥳 I’ve made a few hundred of these and always find little ways to make it easier.
That makes total sense! Funny thing is I usually always do that for other zippered bags. Doh!
Is there somewhere that you know of that shows this easier technique.? I'm not sure what you mean.
Perfect timing. I was going to figure one of these out today for my trip!
Happy to help! Have the best time on your trip 👊🏻
Thank you for the free tutorial!
You're welcome!
You're so awesome, and you totally spoil us! Thanks so much for sharing your talents with us! 😍
🤗
Super cute 😍 Thank u 💕
Adorable ~ I love it!!!💜💜💜
🥰
What needle are you using and what kind of thread? Thank you.
Hmm I believe it’s an 18 in there right now (or 16) I honestly can’t remember which one I grabbed. I’m sewing on a juki du 1181n so I have a tex 80 bonded poly from geekyhardware.com in there.
Where do you find the peel and stick binding tape?
I found it! ;)
Is there a way to do it with a zipper and not the ones like in the video
I’m sorry, I don’t understand the question 🤔
I think she might mean, is there any way to do it with a zipper where the pull is already attached like you would buy from Joann's rather than one that you insert the pull. @@LindsHandmadeDesigns
Yes, with the zipper pull already on. I don’t use zipper tape . Sorry for the confusion
