0:00 Intro
0:05 This was on an Audi (didn't mention the model). The customer said they had no clue how this could happen. The technician mentioned it was the first time this Audi came to his dealership so maybe it was done by another shop, dealership, or by the customer. The washer line got reconnected properly and a new battery was installed.
0:18 The customer paid to get a new engine installed. The technician also mentioned that the customer apparently kept adding oil to their engine but it still wouldn't start so that's why it was towed to his shop.
0:32 Leak in the brake line. The technician was okay and had it mostly sprayed onto his phone and a bit into his mouth. However, I thought the laugh in the clip was hilarious and had to share it.
0:41 That is a block of ice underneath the oil pan. As mentioned the customer thinks it was one of their employees who did this. The technician hasn't mentioned yet what the customer is going to do about this.
0:51 Since this vehicle had aftermarket coil overs installed they require a sleeve on the end to properly fit in the spindle. The customer never installed the sleeves onto the coil overs, so that's why they slid out of the spindles when the vehicle was lifted.
1:02 The technician was trying to remove the axle nut but the end of the cv axle came off, half of the bearing and half of the brake rotor. An unusual issue!
1:14 Fuel lines were damaged as well.
1:21 A great idea for a hood release!
1:31 Always best to drop the fuel tank to change your fuel pump if there isn't an access hole to do so. The customer is lucky they didn't have their vehicle go up in flames when they were cutting an access hole.
1:39 The customer's father had completely covered the EVAP canister with spray foam. Could possibly work but you'd be better off replacing the EVAP Canister.
1:50 Haven't got an update on what the customer wants to do yet in regards to this. Hopefully, their brother wasn't actually charging them to change their oil and not doing it!
2:04 The shop installed a new bulb as requested.
2:13 The customer did not get their tire repaired and had to sign a waiver before leaving.
2:20 Left - bushing wasn't installed underneath the top washer.
Right - they didn't install the bushing properly on top of the sway bar link and double-stacked it instead.
2:26 The customer kept driving on a bad wheel bearing for quite a while which damaged the spindle, backing plate, and cv axle.
2:34 No extra info.
2:44 "I had to unbolt the glass from the track to get that picture and clean it out."
2:54 "Followed this car driving through Johns Creek, GA, and was behind him for about four miles. His car looked like it had been totaled and eventually, the tires fell off so his wheels were dragging which led to the fire in the video. He eventually pulled over in Roswell, GA on Holcomb Bridge Road and got out of the car safely which is when the fire truck pulled up to extinguish."

Props to the user who submitted the last clip. It was pretty hilarious to see the conclusion of what we all suspected was going to happen while driving on a bare wheel on fire
Absolutely insane to think anyone -not evading- would ever think that was a good idea, and or didn't notice the fire/smoke in their sideviews... insane.
@@jamesdt1980 There's also the very unfortunate possibility that they knew and insisted on driving that way specifically *because* of the expected outcome 😕

I was thinking it doesn't look fast enough to be fleeing from the cops, but how fast can you actually go when you're grinding metal...
I've seen that once myself on the road to Evanston, wy, up the grade east of the Evanston exit. Except the left rear wheel was off and it was running on what was remaining. Driver was looking pretty casual about it. I called 911 but didn't stay to see him stopped.
0:40 The brake line "HA HA HA OH YES!"
Yep sounds just like every reaction at any shop I've ever worked at. The "Are you ok?" Comes after at least 45 seconds of laughter.
Now it is a break line.
And we thought water in your phone was bad
I thought brake fluid was highly corrosive.
@@michaellavery4899 Brake fluid is hydroscopic (it easily absorbs water right out of the air). It also very easily mixes with water. When water works its way into the brake system, you get corrosion and an ugly mess. Clean brake fluid is not corrosive at all.

That some people survive driving on the road is amazing to me
I've seen too many BMW's driving on the rim with major damage from not stopping after getting a flat... they think run-flats are magical and can be driven on all the way to the tyre shop :P
Thank science and better engineering. Car accidents that 50 years ago would have killed half or more of the people, now result in a totaled car and minor to major injuries but survivable. Same for convenience. Things years ago where you would need a tow, now you can keep driving. Sadly that leads to worse damage on the car in the long run, but science and engineering have greatly contributed to longevity of people and cars.
On the road, or anywhere.

T handle hood latch = GENIUS!
That’s a person that gets it done.
I should have done something like that to my 20-year-old Isuzu Rodeo that had a sticking hood release latch instead of cursing and banging to get it released so I could check my oil. Finally had it fixed. That was a good car and I drove it until it all the plastic parts slowly started to crumble.
The headlight blew my mind. How would anyone think that SAWING IT OUT OF THE CAR is the only possible way to remove it? I'm speechless.
I mean, you're allegedly smart enough to know to change a headlight, but dumb enough to saw the headlight lens out of the car, not thinking about bolts, screws, or doohickey fasteners put there to gain access?? Some owner's manuals show how to change the headlight and some other bulbs.
@@markh.6687 Most cars nowadays it's so difficult to remove anything, headlights and front bumpers being the more difficult ones around. I bet they got tired of trying to find that one last piece of plastic holding the headlight in! They really don't make them very serviceable anymore unfortunately. Maybe this was always the case, but it sure as hell is the case now.
Which is why I drive a 90s car. Getting to the headlight is as simple as opening the hood and removing a small plastic cover.
@@netts2315 Some Chevys require removal of the whole dang bumper cover/nosepiece to change headlights. My mechanic refuses to do those jobs except for long-term customers; he loses money on them, instead of doing other work that he can do quicker and easier. He also stopped doing heater cores for the most part for the same reason.
@@markh.6687 I think it was a Lumina. Owner said the bulbs had been changed several times without pulling the front clip. ?? Maybe thats why they're blowing out? Halogens don't take well to dirt.
After watching these videos I feel like I'm some sort of freak because I clean my car up before I take it in for service. I'd feel like I was disrespecting the technician by giving him a messy car if I left an empty water bottle or something like that on the floor.
I keep my cars clean because I can't stand clutter and junk rolling around on the floor. I completely agree that it shows respect on your part to do that.
In behalf of all mechanics, thank you. Nothing pisses me off more than having to dig through tons of trash to access what I need.
I have to wonder, is it really that hard to put a small trash can in your vehicle? Seriously gross.
I was once mortified when I went to pick up my old Outback wagon after having the springs replaced. I only realised then that I'd left the back full of training pads and of course they needed to access the rear shock mounts from inside the cab.
It honestly would have only taken 10 seconds to lift them in and out but I still felt like an idiot.
@@nekk-ra7080 That goes way beyond what a small can could handle. To me this speaks of mental illness.

Kinda wondered if they were going to use that to start the engine...
I can picture an Audi designer looking at that pull start modification with a kind of Mr.Spock style puzzled expression, then uttering : " most illogical".
Long time back I had a panel van with a broken driver door latch. I rigged a cord from the rear door of the van to the interior door latch lever. This let me open the driver door by unlocking the rear door and pulling on the cord. It was just temporary until I could fix it properly on the weekend when I had time. Three months later...

Man! I absolutely LOVE that 66 Caprice!! What a beautiful car! I had a 66 Impala SS while in high school...many years ago. Wish I had kept it.
We had a Jeep come in a few years ago with a misfire and gas smell inside. A roadside "mechanic" had replaced the fuel pump by pulling the carpet up in the back and using a saws-all to cut an access hole over the tank. It had a plastic tank and he had cut into it in a couple of places and used plumbers caulking to reseal the tank. We fixed the misfire (rat chewed the power wire for the left bank injectors) and told them we would have to replace the gas tank to fix the gas smell but they didn't want to spend that much money on it. I'm terrified by the thought of what these roadside mechanics do to people's vehicles. I've never had a customer come in that had a roadside mechanic work on their car that didn't screw something else up in the process of trying to fix a car. People have to learn to just have it towed to a reputable shop and get it fixed right so it doesn't wind up costing them even more to repair what the roadside mechanic destroyed in the process of "fixing" it.
I would've told him I'm refusing to work on a car that is going to burn up if he refused. I wouldn't want it in my shop.
@@ffjsb , not everybody has that kind of money, they were driving a Chrysler product after all. This was their only car and we're out in the country where there are no buses or subways to get around. People gotta get to work and go grocery shopping so you do what you can to help. We sealed it up as well as we could and taped over the access panel the mobile mechanic cut in it, made sure they were well aware of the risks and sent them on their way. I've always worked for small family run shops out in the country where we try to fix things right but we also take care of people.
I resent that I do mobile mechanic and never screwed up yet I've done 3 fuel pump jobs no leaks or smells and done intake gaskets and not a issue yet either

I feel bad for some of the people who decline repairs. They probably don't have the money and now they're out of transportation. Others on the other hand, seem like they were at the end of the line when brains were handed out.
The real problem for these people is that live in an unlivable city without decent public transport that would allow them to live without a car, as people do in many cities across Europe.
@@nicolek4076 Not everyone lives in a city. And having public transportation that would encompass every rural area is just unfeasible.
Generally when people won't pay for repairs, they pay for cable TV, cigs, alcohol, daily snacks, restaurants rather than cooking.. It's amazing to me how people choose to live, then shrug their shoulders when they have a necessary expense like it's not their fault and not their problem. Even worse when a lack of $50 maintenance becomes a $5000 repair.
What it means is that they're going to get a friend to do it for them cheaper.
This is also what happens when distortions in the market, financing, and business cause automakers to no longer offer low-cost value cars to buy. Many decades ago, the big automakers all offered Fleet Spec (no frills) sedans for taxis, company cars, municipal staff cars, and lower-income families that needed a decent sized sedan but, couldn't afford the normal models. Used to be that you could, also, get a bare bones "Working Man Special" pickup truck. Same reasons.
Everything is overequipped and loaded with crap that most don't need or want. All to justify soaring MSRP sticker prices.

That brake line reminds me of what happened to me recently, my sister was visiting from Colorado, she took my car which is a 2001 lesabre, she called me to say that the brake light was on and the pedal went to the floor but she had some brake left, any other woman would have probably freaked out but not my sister, she got home without incident, when I got under the car I saw the problem the line rusted out and the brake fluid was squirting out of a hole in the rusted out part, it was the day before Christmas eve and extremely cold outside here in NJ, I started working on it the day after Christmas, it was a fairly straightforward repair just getting the right lines from AutoZone which is a couple of blocks from my house , I can walk there, i got everything put together and my sister helped me bleed the brakes, when I got to the drivers side wheel I loosened the bleeder screw and told her to push the brake pedal down, as soon as she did brake fluid gushed out of the brake hose which wasn't leaking at all before, I couldn't believe the coincidence, luckily it was in stock, we went out to dinner using another vehicle and I fixed it when we came home, at least it went when it did and not while driving, my 22 year old lesabre with 318,000 stops great now, I plan on getting a complete brake line kit that they sell on ebay with all the lines preformed and doing it in the spring.
I limped a car home (about 25 miles) when a brake line blew as I left work. I had to take it in (no garage to work in during winter, never did a brake line, etc. and I had the cash to pay for the repairs).
Years later I had one hard line fixed on a car, left the shop, and the other side blew (!) Should have let him do both at same time, but I tried to save a little money on the other hard line. So much for that plan. But BOY did the brakes work well after all that; like THINK about touching the brake pedal and you'd hit the windshield.
Yeah honestly it should be illegal for car manufacturers to ever have made the brake lines out of something that rusts through so easily. It's like making an airbag out of cardboard that is gonna expire at any time but you don't even know when.
Watching these videos makes me very thankful, we have an institution called TÜV here in Germany, wich checks all cars regularly for their technical savety. If a car doesn't pass this check, it's owner can come back after having fixed the issues, or the car will be pulled off the road...
See America is a free country. Free from safety and common sense.
Many states here in the US do this, including mine. They have to pass a regular safety inspection, which means: tires, brake pads, brake rotors, and wheel rims all have to be in good condition, headlights, signal lights, hazard lights, high beams, windshield wipers, and horn all have to work, the windshield cannot be damaged or improperly sealed, body must be free of holes, mirrors must be present, and frame must be free of substantial amounts of rust.
YA KNOW........................I really should not be shocked at these anymore. YET. Here I am. Watching the whole vid pretty much with my jaw dropped. GOOOOOOOOD LANDS some of these people! I have said it many times before, still gonna say it again, what really scares me is that there are SO MANY out there that you have enough content to post these almost constantly!!!! 0_0 Gret vid again dude!
you and your family share the road with "customer declined all repairs", which is insanity. in a country that is supposed to be all about freedom, yet erodes those freedoms so routinely and broadly, it still blows my mind that vehicle roadworthyness and road safety is something authorities turn a blind eye too.
In the few places where they do care, its pretty much only about green lobby stuff. crazy.
Good job as usual boss!
Thanks, Lukas!
I think it's safe to say his gun was loaded
Evidently so was the owner.
man needs to read up on the 4 gun safety rules
same dude was later observed punching himself in the groin to check if he had pants on
@@dotanuki3371 What's worse is he does it all the time.
@@thatguybrody4819 Better yet, he should just give up on gun ownership
I bought a scout about 30 years ago. The driver side window would only go 1/2 way down. When I pulled the inner panel off I found about 12 inches of cigarette butts in the door. The old owner would drop them down between the glass and the door. There were so many that they prevented the window from going all the way down.
How did that not catch fire?
@@chrismaverick9828 Self-extinguishing cigarettes maybe?

That last video when you have had a bad day and really just want to get home.
The worst part of watching all these episodes, is realizing that all these people are our "Peers" when it comes to a trial by jury, they have the right to vote, to cook your food, to teach your kids, to decide your future in some kind of arbitration based job, to apply their "knowledge based on experience" to you in some form or other, every day of your life. It's truly scary and more than a little depressing...

If the brake fluid one happened where I work, it would go something like this.* brake fluid to face* one of my coworkers saying, AH YES! THERES THE MOMEY SHOT. Followed by uncontrollably laughing from my co workers.
That last clip, same people that are allowed to elect nation leaders
Shakes my head. Just too many idiots behind the wheel and on the roads. Great video. Keep it up!
0:35 that was funny
What goes through a person's head as they try to saw out their headlight or drive their car down the road as it is engulfed in flames..
Drive it till the wheels fall off and catch on fire... 😅
very little. perhaps a slight breeze?
Neutrinos.
Wow these never get old
I absolutely hate these people that bring in totally disgusting cars. My dealership started that text 2 drive thing where techs send customers pics and videos of the repair or broken parts. I told them if they make me start doing that, all I'm going to send anybody is pictures of the filth in their self-propelled dumpsters they call a car. Luckily they believe me, and I have been spared the requirement to get involved in that whole thing.
LOVE the Chevy Caprice at the end. 💖
“He shot a hole in his floorboard to see if there was any bullets in his gun”
1:13 Is that guy so stupid he didn’t think about taking out the mag and checking the chamber before deciding to press the trigger!?
I’m from the uk and never handled a real gun in my life and even I know how to handle a gun better then that idiot. It’s a wonder how some people got their guns when they’re idiots with no idea on how to properly handle a gun or check for loaded rounds without the need for risking damage to nearby property.
Yeah. I'm a swede, you need to pass a written and a practical exam to be allowed to own a gun, despite that I have one friend that shot his car and another that shot trough his living room wall, yeah, it's idiotic to just let anyone have access.
We had one from the body shop.
They had replaced a radiator core support and now it would run for a short while and die.
Checking for fuel we found antifreeze in the fuel line.
Come to find they connected the coolant overflow hose to the charcoal canister line.
Palm, meet face......
Once again, thank you a video FULL of amazing things. The (really early '50s?) Cadillac flower car is gorgeous.
This is one of my favorite uploads so far, so much chaos 😂 what on earth did the bullet hole customer expect the shop to do?? 😂
Probably that was a bodyshop...

I have a silly question I am from Europe and I've never seen something like this and my question is: if the customer declined the repair what's happening? Here it is impossible to return on the road a car in that situation. If the vehicle owner decline a safety repair police is gonna he at the service center exit when he wants to leave like that.
Unfortunately mechanics and technicians don't have much say. They can get the customer to sign a waiver to not be liable if they crash/something happens after they leave the shop. Where I live you can call a peace officer and they will further look into it.
To answer its by state but in the State of Texas a shop cannot hold onto the vehicle and the customer can drive away however it would never pass inspection to be registered until that is fixed; however that is a yearly thing so if it was just done then it could be driving for a year. This law was to try and stop vehicle shops from saying that a vehicle was unsafe to drive and charge crazy amounts for work that wasn't needed but it has given the general populous mistrust of shops and therefore they want a second opinion. So in short, these people will drive away and think they are trying to be scammed. As for me if a shop ever says its unsafe to drive (Only happened to me once) I called my insurance company which then towed the car to a second shop for a second opinion. Turns out the issue was not an issue and the insurance company sued the first shop to recoup costs.
Here in Australia, at least in my state, the dealer informs the owner if the damage makes it fail a roadworthy test and the owner decides to have damage repaired or to drive it away. However, if the owner takes the car from the shop the mechanic is required by law to inform the road traffic authority. They immediately cancel the registration and the car's third party personal insurance. We don't have to insure the car for damage etc but must have insurance that covers other people. Driving while not registered or without 3rd party personal insurance are both offenses. Local police cars have plate-reading cameras so if you drive the car past a police car it will probably cause an alert.
I once had a paint problem on the c-pillar of my turbo sports car and took it to a repair and paint shop to see what was happening. He lifted the rubber surround of the rear windshield and found that the car had earlier had a new roof and it was held on with brass brazing, filled and smoothed and painted over - highly illegal. I'd bought the car at three years old many years before and a previous owner had apparently had a smash. I had the option of a having a new roof fitted properly to pass safety regs or to sell the car as is. The cost to have a new roof sent from Japan and have it fitted was 75% of the value of the car and would take three months. I sold the car to a local company for the value of the turbo motor etc. They came with a tow truck to collect it from the paint guy.

I'm just curious when the people hit that rock I am pretty sure every single light came on the dash and when they poured oil in it didn't they see it just go straight on the ground some people are just really stupid.
A video I showed in 2021 a customer drove to the shop with a busted oil pan. The car still ran also lol. Apparently her son hit a curb or something 😂

first clip - customer states: i've got washer fluid coming out of my battery! 😂
Wow. Removing a headlight with a Sawsall. Brilliant.
I always get a well needed laugh. Thanks and keep up the good work
Gotta give the guy who put the lawnmower starter cord on the hood latch a 👍!
That hood release is pretty smart, I wish we had one of those on a work vehicle that had hit a deer.
There was just a dent in the hood at exactly the right place to break the handle on the hood release, and we had to check the oil every shift.
The guy who shot his gun at the floor of his car to see if it was loaded is a real dud,
He should neither have a gun or have a driver's license.

If you are driving along the road and you can see fire and smoke from the rear of your car and a Firetruck following , Chances are you might want to pull over and run far, far away.
I thought they were being chased by the cops.
Video concludes: "I hoped you enjoyed this video........" Hardly, it scares the hell out of me that these cars are on the road. 😵💫
We had a woman come in with a beemer, no word of a lie, so much cigarette ash, you couldn’t see the floor shifter. I took a razor blade to the side window, to peel the tar off like a window tint.
She had multiple plastic shoping bags full of cigarette butts, in the passenger seat.
We fixed her problem, and told her not to return.
Why would you fix her problem if you're just going to tell her not to return? Makes no sense.
Love the Cadillac flower car, I remember as a kid seeing them in the funeral procession.
0:24 I think the customer is lying. If he really ad oil then where is it?
There should be few litres of oil, but I can see only few drops.
On that oil change, I don't think she should trust her brother in law to do anything important.
"On that oil change, I don't think she should trust her brother in law." There, I fixed it for you.😀 Unless he ponies up for a new engine!
It never gets old watching this stuff it's almost unbelievable
1:55 once took my car to be serviced by my dad's neighbor, a retired mechanic, only for him to inform me that the car still had the factory oil filter which had never been changed and as such the car never had an oil change.
I had paid for oil changes every service prior, but worst of all the car up to that point had a perfect service record meaning the previous owner also got scammed.
washer fluid is only a so-so electrolyte
