I can understand if the repair goes up into the thousands and you can’t afford it at this time, but when they take it to a garage, and it needs a new wheel or break or something affordable, and they refuse to fix it, why did they bring it to the garage in the first place? Did they expect a free repair?

Not possible in the usa.
Because the only way to leave your house and reach anything reasonable is by car.
Soeven the biggest idiot must be able to get a driver's lisence.
I've always said it should be a licensing requirement to have a basic understanding of the machine you're operating.
So many configurations in each model that would almost be impossible 😂 let alone the maintenance checklist when all they have is plastic covers everywhere 😂😂 true story my sister actually held the lever foward to keep her high beam lights on before asking if I have any ideas because her previous car was a simple pull knob in the dash or twist knob on edge of the lever nevermind push the lever foward to get high beam
I dunno my high-school auto class was just us watching top gear and the teacher getting arrested for beating off at school. Seems pretty useless.
@@17kcotsdoow86 Same, Not just driving and road laws but basics of how cars work in general (what are all the different parts, what do they do etc) and basic maintenance (how to like change a tire, do an oil change, how often etc) too. I personally also think that you should have to retest regularly, maybe every 4 years and every 2 over 60 and there should be an old-age cutoff of like 80 (depending where you live I guess). These are like 2-ton killing machines we're talking about, we should all have a healthy fear of them!

5 years without an oil change !! I'm impressed that ANY vehicle could last that long.
I had a friend who bought a 1984 Toyota pickup truck brand new. A few months after he died in 2002, his wife asked me if I knew where to get an oil change. I told her where I went, assuming her husband had handled oil changes previously and just hadn't told her. Come to find out the truck hadn't had a single oil change the entire time they owned it. After the shop cleaned the engine out as best as they could, I was shocked that it actually ran for another 2 years before finally needing a new engine.

I really enjoy watching these videos. My dad was a Toyota mechanic for 30 years and now teaches for Toyota. I remember him telling stories about “customer states” issues. My most memorable “customer states”, he mentioned, was, “car don’t start and when it do it buck.”. He would always say, people write just like they talk. This is years before internet and before smart car tech. I can’t imagine how “customer states” would’ve been back in the 60s 70s and 80s.
My first thought was that it bucked because the customer tried starting it while in gear. 😁

1:06 it improved fuel mileage alright. Can't burn gas if your car is broke
And it works even AFTER it was removed, as a seized engine does not burn fuel either!
I had a conversation/argument with one of my brother's friends about fuel vapour systems. Absolute ignorance to the actuality of what's occurring and what the engine wants.
After some moronic sidestepping and beating around the bush, the crux of his argument is that gasoline vapour is more volatile than petrol, therefore running the car on vapour is more efficient. His expression when I asked him why he thought higher volatility was a good thing when additives are added to fuel in order to make it _less volatile_ was pretty good, ngl, and the concepts of both energy density & requirement for O2 was just completely lost on him.
My brother's friend is _not_ a smart guy. Same guy regaled me with his plan to build a generator that runs a motor that runs the generator, but assured me it'd work because he'd use a generator that puts out more power than the motor needs to run. GeNiUs.
@@masondegaulle5731 He probably plans to buy an electric car, and put a generator on each wheel to recharge the battery........ whilst not going downhill......
Well it can't burn gas but it also doesn't make any miles, so fuel mileage is still poor.
@@Ismalith that’s a minor drawback… I’m sure the designer is working on it! 😁
Nothing makes me cry, laugh and be angry at the same time like a Just Rolled In compilation.
I'm looking at just rolled in from very far away. And I'm amazed.
The dumb repairs some are doing.
But also the rusted to the bone cars.
I now recognize why my country is putting SO MUCH efforts in having my car controlled every two years. If they don't, some peoples would certainly drive around with rusty buckets like those ones.
My prayers go out to all peoples sharing the road with those living dangers.
Same like me. I live in Asia and I would be an idiot in doing car maintenance jobs by myself.
The amount of videos I see with brand new vehicles that never go and get oil changes astonishes me these vehicles are not cheap
A lot of people see owning a car as just the monthly payments, they don’t think too hard about the down payment etc.
I'm not surprised.
A friend of mine was the manager of a jiffulube, and he always brags about how they ripped off many of their return customers with new cars by not changing their oil or not doing the other unnecessary services that they up sold to their gullible customers .
All these shady antics were pushed by the shop owner, they even had a grift bonus plan, so it was a competition between them.
The logic was that if the car is leased, it will be the next owner's problem, never mind all the other countless stupid mistakes his unexperienced "automotive techs" did to customer's cars.
Moral to the story, don't be lazy, change your own oil, it takes all of 15 minutes, and you'll know that it's done , and done right .
Plus a lot of the vehicle manufacturers recommend not to service the automatic transmission. Bugger that, it's got a removable pan & a filter, I'm gunna service it.
@@Tony.Technics.1200s this is exactly why i do my own vehicle maintenance. So i know it actually gets done

I find myself telling people about this channel all the time & no one believes some of this stuff.
I've got a funny one that just happened to me this week. On the long weekend, I kept hearing somebody laying on their car horn day and night, every few hours for a few days. They would start beeping the horn over and over, or just hold it down for 5-10 seconds even at 3am. I was about to start walking around the neighbourhood at night too see who was being such an ass to confront them. Then I realized it was MY car when I took it out and it kept randomly beeping hahaha. I take it in tomorrow, so I'll see what it is.
One of our neighbors kept having their car beep the horn over and over for about 2-3 minutes at random. Turns out something in her purse was pressing against the lock/unlock button on the fob and her grand daughter would carry her purse around sometimes when playing dress up. The jostling was making something in the purse hit the fob. lol
4:39 "Ma'am you need to return the car. There is a major defect with it. And that defect is related to a lack of common sense!" oh boy.

If that was dry wall they could've cut 3 sides of a rectangular opening and scored the last one with knife to make a door. Add a little screw and now you have a knob to open and close it when you need it.

When the customer says “Is sounds like …..” it always reminds me of Car Talk.
Doggo in trouble, saws-all go brrrrrr.
I approve.
They could have just broke the window though. They didn't need to cut the door up. The handle of the sawzall could have broke the window. Or just throw it at the window and whatever part hit, it would work too. Grab a brick. They weren't wrong for doing that, but it wasn't necessary either, so in that way they weren't right either.

I want to go over that insurance company referred to at 6:16. Do you know the name? I mean if they paid for that then they'll cover anything.

1:38 Those are the most expensive wheel spacers I've ever seen! Serious high-class bling!
4:14 I don't know that could be pretty fun. Angle rear spray nozzle just right and wire an ignition source off rear wiper motor.
Every time you wash your rear window it creates a flame thrower. Perfect for tailgating situations.
I know someone who installed a fuel injector, spark plug, and separate ignition coil, just so he could spray vegetable oil into the end of the tailpipe and create a smokescreen. It kinda worked, but the dude had issues.

Tweaker
7:30 Crafty! If you've seen/heard of how the Takata airbags explode like a deadly claymore and the resulting injuries (also fatal ones), I completely understand the customers fear!
they could have atleast put the bolt heads facing towards them instead of the threads now instead of a claymore they have spears pointing at them
You’d end up impaling yourself on those bolts though, and probably smashing your skull on the metal. The airbags seem like the lesser of the two evils.
Yeah, the airbag being a bad one IS a risk, but before you even crash the metal edges of that plate in a panic steering situation and those bolts extending towards the driver... 100% worse. If you don't slice your wrists open you're definitely getting into a wreck as you can't adequately control your vehicle.
The air bag will blow that plate and bolts right off the wheel and into their face at 200mph. Air bag shrapnel will be the least of their problems.
Having a metal plate launched at your head at mach3 is much better.🙄
The drive shaft through the gas tank still blows my mind.
It just AMAZES me what some people do to their cars... AND they are ON THE ROAD TOO!
5:08 How could someone do that to a clutch in 25 miles?
Quite easy for a self certified cretin head that parks with a steady 7000rpm in 3rd.

I dearly want to test the anti-airbag deployment steel plate, Mythbusters style. There is a lot of kinetic energy released, and I'm not sure where it would go in that case.
Is that what it was? B-because the faulty airbag might be dangerous? I was genuinely contemplating if it might be some sort of strange suicide device
These people walk next to you, they drive next to you, and worst of all they vote next to you.
7:15 I was not mentally or emotionally prepared for the secret stash of dog food.
The guy who added gear oil to quiet the knock... I've now got 'Can't Stop the Rock' stuck in my head lol!
7:00 Are they sure that's not a pipe bomb?
Exactly my thought, then they have blocked it so that the engine doesn't get oxygen = it can't start, then BOOM
That is one of those texas straight pipes where they cut holes in the hood and run the exhaust straight up through it. Car dealer likely sawed them off and replaced the hood just to sell the truck and never told the buyer. Water and gunk collected in the exhaust pipe and rusted, and then would be pushed out and up when running the truck.
Some people can't do 41 miles on a clutch kit, yet here I am with a car that is 25 years old with almost 300000 miles on the clock and the engine and gearbox has never been split...
I have a friend with a 1998 Tacoma with 408k and the original clutch. Amazing how long stuff can last when treated right. Amazing fast some can destroy stuff.
I had a '94 Cavalier, bought it with 77k miles, got t-boned with 238k miles, still on the original engine, clutch, and transmission. And I wasn't always gentle with that car, either. lol
'99 Chevy Blazer and '72 MGB GT sportscar here ... Blazer clutch and 5 speed still perfect, MGB on 2nd clutch bc I fitted a modern Mazda 6 speed ... that car and trans will last forever 😁
