The yellow wrench light in your Honda dashboard simply means that a maintenance is due soon. It will come out when your oil life is at 15% so this means that you will need an oil change and maybe another service depending on the code that shows below your odometer.
In my case, I have a B1 code B means that I need to do an oil change plus a bunch of check items and 1 means that a tire rotation is needed.
The manual that comes with your honda vehicle will show you what the code means. I have also showed how to reset that code after you perform the maintenance to remove that annoying light in your dashboard. Please make sure that you complete the maintenance first before resetting the service code.

Thank you for your kind words! I'm happy I could assist you with your questions.
Thanks that helped so much Because I just had my all changed Back in January and I haven't even reached the recommended amount of mileage driven before the next oil change is due.

Just some applause for the contributor, straight facts, with info to help you also avoid a panic attack and now get to save the cash we ladies would’ve been forced to pay way to many dollars for them to sell you every single add on possible to over sell u some spit bc the service manager is constantly jumping on the Master and Service Techs to upsell every one (but especially when the customers are women my late husband died in 2017, he had been working on cars his entire life and kind of got a kick out of repairing parts when possible and or going to the you pull it to save his peoples money when he could and his biggest gripe at the end of the day was usually the service managers riding him asking why he didn’t sell upgraded fluids to the ladies “who assume it has to be a necessary part bc you tell them u need it”
He HATED that shit
His dream was a shop of his own to take care of peoples cars no selling shit they don’t need while trying to keep Johnny Jr in baseball
Ty dude, just got inspected Friday so clear clear clear clear Ty for preventing my mind from spinning all night unable to sleep bc I need an oil change in this van that hasn’t been mine long enough to trust her yet but we are learning to trust each other and Betty White the 2nd (my new to me Odyssey Inwas going to cry about then I watched ur video

@@diymanualI got the same problem the wrench sign comes up but I do the same , before it’s erased the symbol but not it’s not working anymore like use to it so easy but now no more what do you think is the issue or the problem please reply back Thank you.
Sorry, I just saw this. CZcams is not good on giving alert when there is a new person who comment on another thread. Maybe just try the sequence again there is no magic to it. I assume that you are doing the oil change and not just resetting the codes right?
Thanks. Subscribed❤❤
Thank you for subscribing! I appreciate your support.
Thanks som much. The symbol came on after I unscrewed the new oil filter because I wasn' t sure I' d put it in correctly. The manual does'nt mention anything about this symbol. I feel calmer now☺️
I am glad it helped and I hope that you put the filter back in properly.

Is that based on the mileage on the vehicle that triggers the B1? Or does that car realize that those are parts that need replaced and it can detect it through the system? I am assuming it’s more based on how much miles are on the car versus knowing that they need to be replaced.
Yes it is based on the mileage.
Thank you I just had this happen to my yesterday
You are welcome.
@@diymanual So the D 1 is that the tires need rotating??
It shows D1. 15
You mean B1?
Below are the Main code and Sub Code for Honda Maintenance Items.
B means Replace oil and Filter and doing some inspection.
1 means to rotate tire and check tire pressure and condition
If you have more than 1 number i.e. 15 then check for item 1 and item 5.
Maintenance Main Items
A - Indicates engine oil should be replaced.
B - Indicates engine oil and filter should be replaced. Inspections of various systems and components should also be done. See your owner’s manual for additional details.
Maintenance Sub Items - Numbers
1 - Rotate tires, verify correct tire pressure and condition.
2 - Replace air cleaner element, inspect drive belt, and replace dust and pollen filter.
3 - Replace transmission fluid and transfer fluid (if equipped).
4 - Replace spark plugs, timing belt (if equipped), inspect water pump, and inspect valve clearance.
5 - Replace engine coolant.
6 - Replace rear differential fluid (if equipped).
Notice that A just said OIl change and B includes the Filter change. I recommend to always change your filter even if you only have an A code.
Thank you❤

Hello please mine shows me B1 oil life after changing my oil
What should I do?
Thank you for reaching out! The B1 oil life notification is just a reminder that your oil and filter needs to be changed. So if you just change your oil you just need to reset the code as it will not reset automatically. Just watch the video to the end as I have shown the steps to reset. Let me know know if you have any other question.
Mine just shows the A but no numbers. Wha now help?
Sorry for late reply but A means that you just need to do an oil and filter change. The number is a sub-code (i.e. rotate tires, etc) and may or may not appear with the main code.
omg TY
You're welcome.
I have same sign oil life 15% but I do change oil,Right now same sing
How can I fixed it
Honda Accord 2014
You have to manually reset/clear the code after you change your oil. The reset procedure is at around 2 minute mark of the video. Let me know how it works.
Got a question,
My oil life was at 5% so I changed the oil and noticed the wrench symbol light on, but didn't know it had like B1, etc.
Well, I changed oil and reset oil which took off wrench light, but now I got check engine light for P0301 and 2006 odyssey is shaking and not driving fast.
What does this mean and any answers would help, thank you all.
P0301 is a cylinder 1 misfire. You need to have it checked right away as that can damage your engine.
That is usually caused by faulty spark plugs or coil packs. You can try to switch the coil packs and see if the error changes if it does then you need to replace the coil packs. If it doesn't then try to switch the spark plugs.
Also you mentioned you just changed oil. Please check your oil level and make sure you do not have leak. Also, are you certain you use a 0W-20 oil?
@@diymanual yes on 0w-20
Where you able to figure out what is causing the misfire?
@@diymanual coil was the problem, ty
@@ManuelIbarra-the-great Good to hear that you were able to find the problem. Hope your car is now working great.
So the maintenance symbol and b1 oil life 15% came up on mu dash,I drive a 2017 Honda accord.. I bought a quart of oil and topped it up but it still says oil life 15%....do i reset it or is there a problem
Yes you will need to reset the code. Check the video at around 2:15 mark to the end I have shown how to reset the code. Also, you may want to drain and replace the oil. Just topping it up does not really give you a fresh oil so even if you reset it, you still have an old oil in your engine.
Check this video I made on oil change without lifting the car if that is what is keeping you from doing the full drain and refill. czcams.com/video/iWgY1KTAJFI/video.html
@@diymanual appreciate u man ,thanks...one more thing...about the rotation, does it mean I change the tires around? How does that contribute to oil loss
Sorry, I just saw this. CZcams does not do a good job on showing additional replies. For the tire rotation it depends on the type of your tire. Usually you simply switch front and back then on the next one it will be cross (ie. Front Right to Back Left and Front Left to Back right) it should show it on the owners manual. And no the tire rotation does not contribute to the loss of oil. It is just scheduled maintenance that is good to practice to prolong the life of your tire.
Hello I need help it says oil life but I changed my oil yesterday
Did you reset the code?
@@diymanualhow ?
@@ahmedabdelrhman928 Procedure for resetting the code begins at the 2:00 mark of this video. Hope this help.
I already had my oil changed, and I follow the instructions my oil life is back at 100%, but when I turn on my car all the lights go on of course including yellow ranch than disappear is this OK
Hi Julie, you probably just did not notice it in the past but all cars do a system check where all lights in the dashboard turns on then it should turn off after 2 or 3 seconds after you put the key in the on position or right after you start the engine.
Ok so I’m good now??
Thank you!!
Yes. That is normal behavior for the car.
God know y'all 🔥
Thanks.
I just did my oil change not that long ago
For me the average for oil change is 7500 miles. So if you did a lot of long drive then this will come out sooner. When we did a 3 week cross country road trip in 2019 I changed my oil before we start the road trip then I got the reminder again on our way back because we did about 7,000 miles during that 3 weeks. Also, when you did your oil change last time did you already have the light and did you reset it? If you do not have the reminder yet when you did your oil change then is it possible you may have forgotten to reset it after doing the oil change?
👏🏾👍🏾
Thanks.
What does A5 mean
A = Replace Engine Oil
5 = Replace Engine Coolant
You can check Honda's maintenance site for your exact vehicle model by going here: owners.honda.com/servicemaintenance/minder
Hope this helps.
What does A1 code mean
A1 means you will need to change oil and rotate the tires. Hope this helps.
For everyone who don’t know most of these oil & fluids checks they’ll do at most of the oil changers let’s say valvoline centers they take care of it. Please don’t go spending extra money you don’t need
That is correct. If you bring your car to the shop for oil change they will also reset the code. If you do your own oil change you can follow this procedure to clear it so you don't have to pay someone to do it for you.
I doubt that the shop will clear it for free if you do not let them do the oil change unless you have a good relation with them.
@@diymanual right I mean just the fluids not the breaks & everything else itself. Example the brake fluids, transmission fluids etc.
Cool. Thanks.
Mine shows b13 and the 15% I’m not understanding clearly
That is symbol code B + 1 + 3
B = Replace Oil and Filter
1 = Rotate Tires
3 = Replace Transmission Fluid
Check my other video on how to
Replace Transmission Fluid: czcams.com/video/BUy0V0RevVs/video.html
Oil and Filter Change: czcams.com/video/iWgY1KTAJFI/video.html
You can check the description of this video on the codes list.
Hope this helps.
What does b1 mean
B: Replace oil and filter
1: Rotate Tires
@@diymanual thanks
Why does my Fit say oil 15 percent when i check the dipstick it looks fine???
It was probably not reset the last time an oil change was done. The maintenance minder is mileage base. It does not check or test the oil quality. For my odyssey, it lights up every 7,000 miles. Not sure about the programming in Fit.
@@diymanual Thank you so much 🤝
You are welcome.
Mine was a bad battery
Thanks for sharing.
Can i erase my wrench without taking the car to the mechanic???
The instruction to clear the code is at the 2 minutes mark. Hope this helps.
When it says to inspect everything it says nothing of value
There are main item for each letter and number and they are listed in the description. For B code main item will be to replace Oil and Filter. Plus the inspection of the items I've read from the manual. You can do the inspection or you can chose to ignore them but Oil and Filter will need to be replaced.
