I replaced the pump. it was bad. still defrost after a few minutes. Then plugged the ones like you said and it comes out of the vents now. Thanks bro. My girl can hop out and lock them in when needed.😎
I have a 2005 f-250 with a V10. Last year it locked up in 4 wheel low. It was truly a pain it get back in 2wheel drive. Now my AC is only blown through the defrost. I will try what you say and see if it works for me. Thank you so much for the information. Hopefully it's something I can fix without taking it to the shop. Thank you again for a starting point.
Want to thank you, i’ve been dealing with the same issue for a few weeks. through trial and error I had discovered the same thing but was too afraid to clog the line(using the nail) in fear it would cause other issues. Also I had no idea that switch had anything to do with the four-wheel-drive. Thank you for the thorough explanation on these things 🤘
the nail worked out great, just for knowledge, after I put the nail nothing happened but I turned the motor off and back on and it worked. thanks you!! keep up the good work
Man thank you for making this video. I had to replace a couple of parts and this video help me diagnoses the problem with out spending more money. The nail on the line work for me. Thank you you the man.
I have a 2003 F250 5.4L 2V, Gas. My A/C would move to defrost under acceleration or heavy load (up hills). Issue was with the vacuum solenoid. There is no vacuum pump on a gas, no matter what the internet says! Part I used was Dorman 600-402 4WD Hub Locking Solenoid
Awesome. Was your truck not blowing much on the first two notches of the adjuster dial? Not sure the proper name lol. On the 3rd and 4th settings it blows great just the 1st and 2nd it doesn’t blow much. Just wondering if yours did this as well
@@shopsolutions2142 hahah. Yes! That I never did figure out, though. I suspect there was still a vacuum leak somewhere, likely just in the tubing. My hubs also did not want to lock automatically, but manually worked as expected. I replaced the locking hubs as well.
Interesting. My 2001 Expedition EB has a problem on a hill the AC reverts to defroster on a grade. AC works fine on most roads. I found a line in the same area under the hood the that had been disconnected. Not sure where it goes or if its part of the problem.

Worked great thanks, I always just get out and lock my hubs anyways.
You saved me $150. I shop told me it would take hours to find the vacuum leak. BS

So I blocked the lines at the solenoid and it fixed my climate control problem does that mean my problem is the solenoid or the hub actuators?
