You guys are doing a great ass job! Love ur videos, greatly detail. 👌 question, any video on new Mazda vehicles? Thks
Thank you so much!!! And we've had lots of requests for Mazda's so we'll hopefully partner with our local dealer soon. Stay tuned!! :)
Excellent job on this video. Extremely informative and well done. Thank you!
Just saw this on my feed… I just picked one of these up as a used model. 2018 TLX A-Spec with the Technology package. It had 65000 on it when I got it. I’m very happy so far. Fun car to drive V6 has a nice rumble to it. And the stereo is amazing.
I want this car soooo bad
I appreciate the long reviews as you cover everything.
I was literally waiting for you guys to go over the 2018 Acura TLX as I haven't been able to find such detailed review of exterior and interior changes interior. Great job! Seems like I will most likely be upgrading to either the A-SPEC or Advanced next year once my lease is over.
Awesome! We're glad we could help you out! The 2018 TLX is definitely a big improvement :)
Absolutely awesome review! Very detailed and I like how you compared the regular one to the A-Spec with the other regular trims so great job
Thanks! We're glad you enjoyed :)
Best 2018 TLX Review on CZcams...Thanks!
+Matthew Nagy Glad you liked it!
This is the best 2018 TLX review online, good job..!
Thanks so much!
Great job! In the process of buying a 2018 and this helps a lot
AMAZING review!!!! Thanks for all the details
+Karlito P You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
I really enjoyed watching this review on the new TLX...you guys do a great job of reviewing
Franklin Hanbelt Thanks, we appreciate that!
Great review... TLX A-SPEC looks great...!
Thanks!!
You guys did a GREAT job!
I purchased this car (A-SPEC Steel Metallic) last Saturday and am sharing your video with my friends to give them the best overview.
Hi, Denton! Thanks so much for the kind words and for sharing the video with friends! And congratulations on your new TLX A-Spec!!! It really is a beautiful car :)
Denton Bryan I thought it only came in white and blue? Is this a special edition or is this a normal color on the A-spec? I really like it!
Lars It's not a special edition or anything. You can get the A-Spec in almost all the colors including the blue (which is exclusive to the A-Spec only).
Gotcha, thank you very much for the response. Great video as well!
Lars It actually comes in 5 of the colors. This one is called Modern Steel Metallic. In addition to blue and white, it also comes in Red and black.
I have to applaud Acura here. The a spec looks significantly different from the regular models and they really made the outside attractive. I think the red interior is neat too. Great review guys. You're always the first get to reviews on these cars
Thanks so much! And we agree that the refresh made a big difference in the overall feel of the vehicle!
Franklin Whitton good luck getting the red interior. I went to see some and they didn't have any with the red. they said they were rare
John Davis really? I figured they would have toms since it's new
Franklin Whitton that's what I thought too but no. They said they would have to order it or try and get one traded. and they are selling really well so I don't know if they'd be willing to trade
Franklin Whitton update. they actually do have one at my dealer now. I don't know if they are still rare or not
Looking to buy one of these used and this video will be the sole item that has me sold. What an awesome and in depth review guys.
Glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful! Good luck with your purchase 👍
amazing review!!! this is a fantastic resource for buyers
Thanks, buddy!
I just got a 2018 TLX advance Tuesday at the dealership I work at I absolutely love it both my wife and I do
great job like that you showed the different interior colors thanks
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Great editing in the intro!

Car Confections is this a big price increase over the 2017?
Amazing review 👍👍

Thanks, Jackie!
The new 2018 Acura TLX A-Spec finally arrived!! We hope you all enjoy the review and be sure to LIKE, SUBSCRIBE and COMMENT to keep the quality videos coming :)
Does anyone know the difference between the advance package and the technology package? If you get the advance do you get the technology automatically? And does it have a heated steering wheel by chance? Love this car.
fantastic
Beautiful car!
I went to test drive a new A-Spec and these are my impressions:
Impressive suspension, makes the car feel tight but still soaks up large bumps and imperfections very well.
Seats were supremely comfortable. I only had it for 40 minutes, so my opinion might change on a long roadtrip.
I couldn't tell a difference between 'sport' and 'sport+'. In my opinion just having 'sport' would have been sufficient. It's probably a marketing thing. Sport+ compared to normal offered a marginally more responsive throttle and more of what I believe to be emulated engine sound.
The wireless charging pad quickly charged my passenger's Nexus 6 to full capacity. The Apple Carplay function looked excellent, with crisp icons and visuals. Unfortunately controlling it with the rotary dial was very unintuitive (borderline distracting). I'm not sure why they didn't choose to have Carplay on the touch screen. I didn't get an opportunity to test Android Auto, so no thoughts on that.
I did not like the location of the mode change button which is next to the transmission push buttons. Though it felt different I could still see someone absentmindedly going for neutral instead of switching drive modes in-flight.
The turning circle was ENORMOUS compared to other cars I've owned and test-driven. I tried to turn around a cul-de-sac and it turned into a frustrating 5-point turn experience which was not helped by the push button transmission. My passenger commented that '[They] would not buy this car just because the turning circle sucks'.
The rear camera gave a very poor idea of proximity. The camera showed inches from running over a fence when parking back at the dealership. A glance out the window told me I had ~4 feet. This car ostensibly has 'surround' cameras which I couldn't figure out how to activate. It might have been hidden in a menu that I didn't find. There are also no parking sensors, which I've found to be helpful even with a camera.
On the Acura TL and older MDX the ELS system was a definite high point. The system in the TLX that I tried sounded bland and muffled compared to how I remember those sounding. It also didn't hold a candle to my Bang & Olufson system in my S4, but that's perhaps an unfair comparison.
The air-conditioned seats didn't seem to do anything over the time I drove it. Compared to the RX350 I recently drove (which I would rate as 'good') this feature was lacking. The cabin air conditioning itself was mediocre. It didn't help that it was almost 100 degrees the day I went to test it, but it definitely couldn't keep up.
As far as driving impression, I would say it's very bland. It felt like the last time I drove an Accord. This makes sense as the TLX is based on an older Accord platform but I guess I expected more.
These things might come across as nit-picky. But as others have said before, once you get past the 40k range of cars in 2017 you're not impressed that the transmission 'shifts smoothly' and the engine feels nice. You expect those things on even the most basic cars and when something doesn't feel nicely screwed together it's an outlier.
Remote start can be added through any trim as a dealer option
Great video. I love everything about it. Wish the red leather was a tad darker
+hvns8ngel Thanks!
so should i get the 2.4l aspec or the 3.5l aspec like is there a difference
Would it look better in dark grey or pearl white?
Hey Can You by any chance Review a 2018 TLX Advance model
I watched your 2017 TLX and wow what an improvement. you should compare the two
We might do that one, too! :)
So is advanced different than a spec or same thing
This car is amazing I own this one
Great review. Can you provide more details on the Advance model? While the A-Spec is nice, I think I may consider an Advance instead to be a bit more low key and get some other features.
Thanks! We try to cover all the trims in each review, but here are a few of the Advance model highlights: unique 18-inch alloys, surround view (360-degree) camera, heated and vented front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, remote start and auto-dimming outside mirrors. Hope that helps :)
A friend of mine just bought this car 2018 TLX. Where is the digital read-out for the mileage gauge? I don't think it has one. Apparently it shows a little bit of one, but only on cruise control. PS it might be the 2019. I didn't ask. But I assume the newest one out must be the '19.
I have a 2018 a spec. I can confirm there is no digital read out for speed, exept on cruise control.
Woah this car looks soooo much better than the old one. Did u like it bteer than the q50 infinity?? need to choose between the two
Hi Brian! The Q50 will actually be refreshed for 2018. It is expected to make it to dealers pretty soon actually... We'll have a review on one ASAP and then following the review we'll do a comparison between the two.
Car Confections great. what I wanted to hear!
+Brian Garrison If we were talking about the Q50 BEFORE it went turbo, I'd would have said go with the Q50. Now since Infiniti is forcing you to go F/I, I'd say the Acura's NA V6 is a better bet for longevity and resale value. This TLX just isn't doing it for me (especially when they plaster huge A-Spec badges everywhere, yet the car is no faster). Honda/Acura had a winner with the 3rd gen TL Type-S; this TLX A-Spec looks like they are trying too hard to make a conservative car sporty (if it had more "go", then this styling might work). Oh, and that front badge, I mean come the F'ck on !
Can you review the Advance model one please
Our dealer doesn't have one right now, but if we get the chance then we will!
I see they actually listened to the complaint about the hidden exhaust tips.
whew I really like the a spec model. I never thought I'd say this but the TLX is competitive now. Maybe even with a German?
John Davis I love it too. I'm really surprised about liking it so much honestly
Franklin Hanbelt I went to the Acura dealer and they told me that this red interior was very uncommon. they didn't have any
that said though I guess you could just order one. I might do that
John Davis do you know how long you have to wait until they get it shipped if you order one?
To compete with Germans TLX needs a much stronger engine. Even a lowly 2.0 liter 4 cyl BMW 328/330 is significantly faster than the TLX with much more low-end torque.
You think a 2016 Acura tlx with 111,000 miles on it for $14,000 is worth buying?
I saw on your Facebook that you're doing Mazda reviews now??
Yes! We got a new partner yesterday with our local Mazda dealer. Our first review will be on the new CX-5!
Why isn't anyone showing the base and advance models. I'm one of those people who prefer elegance over sporty. It looks nice though. However, what I would like to see from Acura is a new ZDX or ZDX successor. They dropped that model because people weren't warmed up to a car/suv but look at BMW and Merc, now everyone loves X6, X4 and GL coupes.
Hi there! We're considering doing an Advance trim (if and when our dealer gets one).
KEINOMADDONE I'm pretty sure they'll bring the CDX, but a Precision grill with the ZDX would be nice.
I'm the same way. I like to get the most luxurious model then make a few invisible performance upgrades (like cold air intake, performance exhaust, and engine tuning). The only appearance mod I would do would be window tint and perhaps a ceramic coating and/or some Expel or 3M film on the front and lower quarters.
Many people hate on Acuras, but the TLX offers great bang-for-the-buck value. I currently have a 2003 TL-S in pearl white with ebony/ash interior. It's been the best car I've ever owned (reliable, luxurious, comfortable, fast, and fun to drive).
The only thing I hate or dislike is the headlights. They should put Mdx leds instead.
would you guys recommend the v4 or the v6?
+thelitemaster Well it depends on the usual stuff like if the extra power is worth the added cost and decreased fuel economy. For me the V-6 would be the way to go because 206 HP and a 7 second 0-60 time just don't seem adequate for a luxury car. Thanks for watching!
V4 is much more exclusive. If you somehow manage to get one you will be the only person in the world with a v4 TLX.
I like the car but I just wish they would consider adding quad exhaust pipes like the type s model and a twin turbo v6 engine that would be sexy
wilmer mendoza wait for a type s not an appearance package
Todd Medium Wellington when is that thing coming out? haven't heard anything about it
It definitely needs more power. The top spec Camry with V6 gets 300 hp....and it's fast to 60. Acura needs to beef this car up. They must also get rid of those stupid button gear selectors. HATE THEM! Lastly, why on earth are the rear turn signals still not L.E.D? It's such a dumb omission. The new Honda CRV has full L.E.D. taillights yet this doesn't.
chigasaki06 the Camry has just 10 more hp than this. and there are more important factors that come in to play regarding a cars performance not just hp.
Should review the new Colorado zr2
+Daniel Tojcic We definitely will when one becomes available to us! Hopefully soon!
I have a rdx base and our loner car was a talk aspects
I like your reviews but I would like to hear the actual horn and engine start sounds of the car you are reviewing.
Thanks, Anthony! That might be something we look into doing next time!
Halogen rear turn signals, antiquated center stack, and they call this a luxury car. This car is kind of rendered useless with the new 2.0t Accords which have in my opinion nicer interiors and a vastly superior infotainment system.
This Car Is not considered Luxury... It's a premium
one thing japanese cars or engineers do not know how to do, make the interior clean even if it has lots of buttons, Audi does a great Job interior wise than most luxury cars,,, and those buttons for gears, ! hate them, i need the shifter .... as always tho, i love the reviews
or compare it to the new Q50 please
Yes, absolutely! The 2018 Q50 won't be too much longer and when we get a review on one we'll get a comparison soon!
Sweeeeeeeeeeeet review.
Haha thanks!
anybody know the difference between this and the 2019 and 2020 models ? they all look the same all around
literally all the same, I have the 2019 since there's no difference lol
@@AL-ib9yc they should sell for the same price 😢 all more expensive just cuz of the year number smh
@@EnricFilms unfortunately, I got a really good deal on mine for 26k
@@AL-ib9yc thats good dude, i’m still looking
the 2018 Camry puts out 301 HP and 28mph combine 34k good luck trying to sell TLX
Mikel Hossyin the v6 camry is 38k -40k
Toyata still doesn't have Android Auto in 2019..lol
They need to offer a manual version for the A spec. I wouldnt buy it until they do
EnRich I would buy one as well, but Acura knows their buyers well. A manual would sell less than or equal to 1% I am hoping for manual type S or R however
Im good with my 2013 3.7 tl awd 306 horsepower acura... they should have had it faster not slower smh
derrick t I have 2010 SH-AWD and this new tlx is faster.
MarioPL well im good with what i have... i like the body shape.... it has more of a aggressive look.... and i never buy freshly redesigned cars those be the test dummies...
MarioPL i also have the tech package sh-awd... white blk interior
derrick t don't get me wrong I like our gen TL, love the stiff suspension, better than average steering and the torque vectoring, nice feeling coming out of a corner full throttle. Mine is black on black tech.
I am interested in this A-Spec because it might fix the problems I had with TLX in the first place, it was way too soft didn't corner good at all, steering was really numb, came with some skinny tires and mostly hated one thing that I'm sure this one will have as well, which is rev hang!!! That's the most annoying thing on modern cars now.
And don't worry, no test dummies for this car, it's a refresh. All the mechanics are the same, this is a 4 year old platform, if anything people that drove it said that even the transmission programing is way better now.
I don't know about you, but this car in blue reminds me 3rd gen TL type S which I loved.
MarioPL lol... well 1st off that last gen was there worst selling model thats why they scrapped it 2ndly it was designed by a woman.... my other car is nissan maxima platinum edition
The horn is so fuckin whimpy! For a luxury car, I expect an angry blast.
Weakest part of Acura is their interior the dash look cheap and uninteresting how the new accord interior dash look classier
The infotainment is fine. With Android Auto and Apple Car play you are using the latest tech. The top screen quality is actually rather good. Also it's nice not to have an out of place tablet sticking up. The fit and finish around center console is better than the Accord. The seats in the tech and up are rather nice with the stitching and piping. Definitely see a fit a and finish difference.
The interior of this car is such a turn off when you compare it to an Accord for example.
