  • The Tesla Model Y electric compact SUV , built in Tesla’s Berlin Gigafactory, scores an impressive 97 percent in Adult Occupant Protection and near-perfect 98 percent in Safety Assist, with full points for its lane support and new cabin camera based driver monitoring system. In Euro NCAP track tests, the Model Y camera-only Vision system performs remarkably well in preventing collisions with other cars, cyclists and pedestrians.

We are manufacture approved by 21 brands including Tesla, I’ve completed all the training provided by Tesla too. Seeing them crash and repair is my daily job, I’d have to say Tesla is in the very high up position when it comes to safety, but the top is always Volvo. Couple of highlights, Volvo’s whips system, SIPS and crash avoidance system is still not released to other manufacturers like their seat belt, airbag and BLIS system.

    The Tesla Model Y is one of my favorite cars! I mean, it may not be aggressive and savory looking like the Tesla Model X, but to me, the Tesla Model Y is kind of one of the most adorable cute cars I've ever seen, especially a Tesla Model Y in red paint job! If you think the Tesla Model Y is ugly, then don't call me blind. Like some people, they see some cars as a blob, but for other people (like me, of course), don't care what the car looks, or they think a car is very cute/adorable.

    that impact sled got absolutely hammered, I'm always scared when I'm driving that a land tank (Electric SUV, weighing over 2 tonnes) will hit me in my ~1 tonne french hatchback, because my car is very safe for pedestrians and other cars (it's very light), and that sled weighs more than my car, and it literally got deflected the opposite direction, like if you're doing 30mph, you end up doing -10mph, whereas the telsa goes from 30 to 10mph or something, and you can buy these cars with a normal license, even if you've just got your license back from drink driving ban etc.

    • @Kaiser-ks3yq
      @Kaiser-ks3yq Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@kickeramps my point was, we shouldn't have an arms race, because the main reason old cars aren't safe anymore is because they're not bigger and heavier than the new ones, the best way to have a "safe" car is to make it the most dangerous one out on the roads *for everyone else*

      @anthonypelchat Před 2 měsíci

      You're missing something here. Those "heavy" EVs are almost always equipment with the top end accident avoidance tech. What is going to hurt someone more: your 1 tonne hatchback going 30 mph, or a 2 tonne EV that emergency brakes and avoids hitting someone in the first place?

    • @Kaiser-ks3yq
      @Kaiser-ks3yq Před měsícem

      @@anthonypelchat Fair point, although I would point to a study done into the lives saved by the invention of ABS brakes, and the study (which I can't find at the minute so you're welcome to call bs) says that ABS is a succesful safety feature, and it is only ever helpful (unlike recent ones like lane assist which can be very dangerous on narrow UK country roads) *however* so many people would think that since their brakes are now better, they can drive faster, so people did, and in the end it was close to ABS making drivers more dangerous.
      My point is, how many drivers now don't look while driving, or get distracted by the huge screen in the dashboard, because they have a new car that "practically drives itself"
      unless you're on your phone while driving, you can always brake a bit before impact, whereas AEB sometimes can get confused, I mean all the stories of people on their phone, using autopilot, and crashing at 70mph without even touching the brakes.
      I'm not saying these things don't work, I'm saying people trust them too much, but wont find out 'til someone ends up dead.
