Hi justin. Any particular reason why you went metabones + full frame version rokinon lenses? And not MFT native mount?
Bjørn Hagen Aakre MFT glass doesnt let in as much light, they have focus by wire (not good for cinema shooting), and they are not compatible with full frame cameras. You date your cameras, but marry your lenses! 🤟🏼
Thanks, man. I just thought the rokinons were all manual at anyways so it would mean one less piece of gear to worry about, but I see the Fstop speed booster point. More light comes in handy on the GH5. I get ISO panic whenever the light is low 😎
Man, I just messaged you this question. I love your channel.
Shooting at Sound City! very Cool.
I’m the guy who cut my sun hood, I was using the APS-C version of this lens said so in the video. And yes it was on the GH5 with a speed booster
yo at 3:45, what set up was that footage? Confused because at the time of showing it you were talking about it not vignetting or looking weird, but that footage is defo vignetted and warped.
I'm shooting on the GH5 and want this exact lens, what metabones do I get and what mount is your 10mm? Also, sometimes I like to run and gun so can I set my GH5 to auto aperture with this lens?
no Auto anything on the cine lenses. However, the metabones and lens i use can be found in my kit bag: kit.com/jpOnFilm/my-film-making-kit
Hey Justin, was thinking of picking up the 10mm. Would you suggest a canon mount if I'm using a canon to mft speedbooster for other lenses or just a mft mount?
yip, most definitely! just make sure you get the full frame one, not aps-c
@@JustinPhillip awesome thank you!
You must try the: slr magic 8mm f4 lens. Its a great Glass:p
So I went and picked up the GH5 as you suggested. Thank you I'm loving it. But I have one question. I shoot in 4k60p then I bring it into Premiere Pro inset me sequence at 24fps to get that slow motion effect but it just look like regular footage. What am I doing wrong? Thank you for all your help and excellent advice previous to this post.
Brian Eason your ingest setting is 24p? The sequence settings?
@@JustinPhillip the sequence set is 24p and the ingest to be honest I'm not sure.
I'm using Premiere Pro 2019. For the ingest setting which setting should I'm use? Should it be same as project?
Should I use transcode or create proxies?
Brian Eason proxies are good if you dont have like 32GB of RAM or a poor video card
That other guy that had the vignetting was because he was using an APS-C version
makes sense
Hey Justin, What would be best wide angle lens for my GH5?
Shark Thanks for watching! I can’t think of any lens combo that could get you any wider and/or faster! Unless you want the fisheye look!
Just a wide angle lens for filming video mainly, but get the epic landscape wide shots.
this ones pretty good, if you can get a speed booster and dont need AF
Is that the GH5 next to a Tokina 11-16 in the background? If so how do you like that combo ?
that tokina lens is ok, good range, consistent f/stop, but i found it a tad soft, that is why i bought the rokinon 10mm and the 16mm instead.
Justin Phillip I’m really looking for an ultra wide zero d lens for GH5 .. any suggestions ? I think I’m gonna stay MFT cause that new Z Cam E2 M4 is going to have 12bit raw via ATOMOS Ninja V and interchangeable mount from MFT to EF and also I heard talks about a permanently attached speedbooster accessory coming as well so I’m not to sure if I wanna invest in EF or PL Full Frame glass or just stick to MFT since they seem to be catching up to S35 looks .. all the content keep it coming any advice is appreciated.
@@EddiksonPena for fast? olympus make really awesome consistent 2.8 wide angle zooms for MFT. me, i like the little baby 14mm f/2.8 lumix , i just re-bought it actually
@@JustinPhillip I was leaning towards the Olympus or the Laowa7.5 because of the no distortion they offer. So wild that you mentioned that lens cause I've been on the fence about getting it such a good compact lens and paired with the DMW-GWC1 adapter from Panasonic its a crazy light wide set up. Im just struggling with breaking that 12mm point. Currently got the Panny 12mm F2.8 and it's great just want these ultrawide zero d shots for establishing shots etc .. How are you diggin the BMPCC4K over the GH5 by the way .. been wanting to make the transition to a cine cam but that BMPCC4K has so much overhead just to get it to a shooting all day state. Also what you think about that Panasonic 10-25 1.7 ?
@@EddiksonPena i love the bmpcc4k, i bought it because i shoot a lot of narrative stuff. But the GH5 is my go to photography camera, travel cam, b cam, its just an awesome work horse, good for live events as well. i dont know anything about that last lens you mentioned, the Laowa's are superior glass
maybe he had 0.64x SB and that's why he got vignetting
very well could be the case. Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for this man this is exactly what I needed.
I think your confusion is fine about that other guy's video because they used to only make this lens (10mm version) in APS-C. Now they offer it in full frame:

P.S. For anyone reading, just use a mattebox to use ND filters and stuff.
