Hello, I just started a MEdical interpreting program. I have failed my first evaluation. I received my feedback and it boils down to more practice of consecutive interpreting. However, I feel that I need more practice. I feel lime I need access to more practice do you know of a good source wher I can practice and then hear the correct interpretation.
In order to be successful in those exam, you should first invest time in medical terminology, make sure you understand what is the term related to. This is the half of the job in order to succeed. I have a folder called medical interpreter terminology and If you listen in English you should immediately know what it means in your language.
The second part it is note taking and Memory. So I have few videos about memory technique, which you can try out and see which one works best with your brain. And the Last part is note taking especially in long sentence, so this include abbreviation (check my video folder called "abbreviation" and then look videos called Note-taking they are all related to medical interpreter terminology. Unfortunately there is no shortcut!!! Hope this help you! Let me know!
@@MITInterpretations Thank you very much. I will be checking this out.
@@Laura-bp2rp I also used a lot medical procedure videos from CZcams. I started in SI mode first using slow speed , increasing that as I got better. After that, I started in Consecutive Mode. There is a good material at Acebo.com as well.
Thanks a lot
