    Welcome to this week’s video where we review the brand new Allet Cambridge 43. A brand new offering by Allet, this cylinder mower with steel rollers front and back promises to be one of the best mowers for small and medium sized lawns available on the market.
    The Allett Cambridge 43 is 17 inches wide and has a 40 volts and 4 Ah Greenworks battery that will last approximately 40 minutes or around 600 square metres of lawn cutting.
    If you want to know which is the best electric lawn mower, then stay watching because the Allet Cambridge 43 is in the running.
    Allett are well known for making the best lawn mowers in the UK. All of their machines are a perfect match for Immaculate lawns, as well as having solid British engineering.
    If you had a spare battery for the Allett Cambridge 43, this may well even be the best mower for large gardens. Being able to swap out the cassettes means it does much more than just cut grass; it can rake, scarify and aerate.
    With a cutting range of 6 millimetres to 32 millimetres with a stepless mechanism, even the most meticulous lawn care fanatics will be satisfied with the control of cut height.
    The Allett Cambridge 43 is by far one of the best lawn mowers to make stripes in your garden thanks to the steel rollers front and back and the grooming rake that sits just behind the front roller.
    Allett, being one of the premium lawn mower brands all over the world, have certainly put their claim out for creating the best lawn mower in the UK, based on quality, ergonomics, engineering and price.
    Because of the split rear roller the Allett Cambridge 43 can turn on a sixpence without damaging the turf, and the weight distribution means that it is nimble yet planted, agile yet stable.
    The Allett Cambridge 43 in my opinion is the Best Buy lawn mower of 2024, let alone the best battery lawn mower.
    The Cambridge 43 is the NEW 17″ self-propelled cylinder mower in our battery-powered cylinder mower range. The machine is equipped with a 6-bladed cutting cylinder delivering 78 cuts per metre and is the battery equivalent of the Kensington 17B.
    Powered by a 40v Lithium-Ion battery it has infinitely variable micro-cutting height adjustment ranging from 1/4 inch to 1 1/4 inch (6mm-32mm). The height of cut dial is shown in mm instead of 1,2,3,4 like on our Kensington model. The Cambridge 43 takes ALL the RC43 cartridges in the Allett range for additional lawn care tasks.
    Experience low noise and the freedom from trailing or being tethered to an electric cable. The Cambridge range offers a greener, quieter alternative to help keep your lawn perfectly striped and in pristine condition. A double section rear roller with geared differential allows the operator to turn without damaging the grass surface. At just 41.5kg the Cambridge 43 is lightweight and easily manoeuvrable around the garden.
    The Cambridge is fitted with the same 62L grass bag as the Allett Stirling which allows optimised air flow when mowing, fills better and is lighter and easier to empty without the lip.
    The machines in the range are simple to start and easy to use with 6-speed options allowing you to select the right speed for you. A fully charged battery allows for up to 600m2 of lawn to be mowed or up to 30 minutes mowing for just a few pennies per charge.

    I would love one but the prices are ridiculous. I just bought a Rolux because it’s the best bang for the buck. We all ain’t rich out here in FJB land.

      It is an expensive machine that's for sure, but it is hand built and engineered in the UK. The model down is the Cambridge, that's more price competitive and a beautiful machine, check our review video of that!

    You’d do well to mow a cricket square (usually 1000sqm+) with a 43cm mower in 30 minutes of run time

      My local cricket pitch is 500m2. I'll have a go tomorrow and let you know... Feel like my chances are good tho 😜
      Using the scarifier is a different story unless you do one track per week in prep

      This is a homeowner model isn't it? It would not be used on a cricket square - Allett have commercial mowers for that

      Quite right they do have a professional series, starting with the Stirling.
      However my local club is a small one, with a tiny budget, and this mower can comfortably go down to 15mm with the 6 blade cylinder. The warranties will differ tho from sports use to home use, we will have the Stirling too to test, so let's see how that fares!

      We got the square cut twice on 1 full charge, that's pretty good going, like I say a small square of about 500m2 and because it's cut regularly, the mower was working very gently!

      @@MowdLtd if you could, thar would be great. I’ve got a 14s but I got it at the end of last year and at the moment I am part way through removing some decking and looking to extend the grass a bit. Hopefully not too long to.wait 🤞🤞

    • @MowdLtd
      @MowdLtd  Před měsícem +2

      With the greenworks battery around 1hr 30 mins. If you get an Allett Mowers with the ego system they have a rapid charge function, around 40mins

    You say that this mower takes all of the Allett RC cassettes, but the RC cassette range, as far as I can see, is specifically for the Cambridge mower. Most users of Allett or Atco petrol mowers will have QC cassettes, which won't be suitable for the Cambridge mower without some conversion.

    • @MowdLtd
      @MowdLtd  Před měsícem

      Hi there, sorry I meant you can use the QC cartridge in the Cambridge - they have engineered an adapter to allow this (that is fitted on this particular machine) - I spoke with Allett today and this was their reply:
      You can put the QC cartridges in the Cambridge you just need the QC2RC conversion kit which is two brackets either side or the cylinder - this bracket has your grassbag hoop on and a guard to cover the open gap in the side guard for safety (and by law)

      @@MowdLtd OK, thanks for the clarification. Have Allett advised what this conversion kit will cost? I cannot find anything about it online.

    The paint will peel of that allett in 2 years. The cylinders are made from lower grade steel than the atco. Believe me the atco will outlast that allett
