Most teams do have a guy or two like this but the difference is they can still contribute minutes. Not trying to be disrespectful but this dude has barely played ANY basketball in 8 years. People are going to poke fun at that regardless of how important his teammates say he is. We have seen so many great players developed out of the Heat system.... Imagine if there is another Max Strus or Gabe Vincent collecting dust in the g league because there is no open roster spot available. That's my only point. Absolutely no disrespect intended towards Haslem.
be a team trainer? idk what the regulations of the league are but im sure spo would let him do exactly what he’s been doing without taking a roster spot. i understand where he coming from, maybe theres an intangible factor to being called an official teammate, but i think the players understand the culture and will respect him as an honorary one.
He’s a veteran that gives advice if the rookies take it they take it but with the success of Miami you know everyone respects him and all you can do is give him his dues💯
I think Spo and Pat know more about the team dynamics and team building than anyone, Miami would not offer him a contract if he was not worth the spot.
During the play-offs, Spoelstra only uses 8 or 9 guys, so there were 6 or 7 guys not playing, not just UD. Do you really think we can get a better value than Haslem for $2 million?
@@jimsmith1846 don’t make it seem like UD got regular season minutes before hand lol YES I do think you can add a young player that can actually play still instead of keeping UD for “moral support”
Yurtseven, Markieff, and Highsmith also didn't have a spot in the regular rotation during the regular season. UD played a role while not playing. The other guys only played a role if there were injuries to the rotation players. Whoever we could get for $2 million instead of UD would probably be in this category. Spoelstra only uses the whole roster in blow-out games.
Then be an advisor your still taking up a spot their are better players that can be used at this point just say you still like to play ball which is fine
I feel like Haslem could do what Ben Wallace is doing for the pistons. Seems like a fitting job to have him close to the team and have a voice. I think Ben Wallace is basketball operations and team engagement advisor.
Definitely hearing a lot of his ego coming out here and unwillingness to move onto the next stage of his career. I appreciate the need for purpose, but there are roles where you don't have to make the big decisions that he's afraid of, and can still participate in drills and mentor the young guys.
Nah his old ass need to give it up and retire and let a young player fill up that roster spot. Haslem your old. Just become an assistant coach. No need for u to be waisting a roster spot
Every NBA team needs one Udonis Haslem. Miami is lucky to have him!

Why so they can lose with someone cant admit he is taking a spot on the team
@@GotDamBoi no they don’t 😂 you really don’t get how big his impact is

So happy to see UD on the show again. He’s a valued player to the team and just his experience in life & playing ball is enough for Miami!
Bro just be on the coaching staff lol heat need that roster spot

OG the captain UD 🔥🔥

He can get his roses off the team and they can create a bs position to him where he can mentor players without taking up a roster prep
this beat is so fire where is it from anyone know?
Haslem has zero self awareness

"He give advice" How many rings that advice got them. Get Jimmy help before his prime is up
People really think that teams need a 15th man?
Anybody watching that series vs the Celtics says he was taking a roster spot lol

UD demands the professional podcast set up or he ain't showing up
Fck dat. Get dat $$ bruh.
UD is a important part of this team.Thats why he's been captain for a very long time.

I'm not trying to be funny but D-wade shoulda sent his guys to uncle UD's house every summer growing up to workout. The results speak for themselves.
At this point we pro test for him to gtfo
Put UD on a 2 way then lol

This man has single handed slurped the Heat organization and ruined them

Bro thanks for your loyalty but let's fill that spot with a active player. Time for someone else to eat.
Dude is the first nba player that instead of transitioning to coaching went to cheerleading first.
