- It's been a long time since I was asked by a normal person to have a look at a Dyson DC15, but it happened! Let's see what's causing this old girl to not work too well, and see if we can't clean some life back into it.

My daughter found an animal DC15 in the street about 5 years ago and all I did to it was clean it up (as you have shown) and it is still going strong to this day. It's a brilliant workhorse and she loves it. Great video again Sam.
This was my first big purchase as a functioning adult! And it lasted almost 15 years before my stepson dropped it down the stairs and cracked all the chassis. 😭😭😭 It was such a good vacuum cleaner! 👍
I still have mine 17yrs on and only replaced the hose in that time. I love mine and no plans in buy a new one for sometime yet
Thank you Beko 1987 ,you have just helped me fix my blocked DC 15, nice man for showing how to fix and good instruction.
The motors in these last an eternity.
I’ve had mine 15 years and its still going. I looked up this video to clean it before I sell it because I’m finally going cordless. I hope
I don’t regret it.
One of the more interesting older dyson models that they did.can honestly say I think I’ve only ever had one and it was for parts (yellow base model)and was totally cream crackered!
still have one of these as a daily driver, works pretty damn good still. Was a bin find and only needed a new brush roll motor after the old one died from rust.
I have a dc15 regular vacuum, I’ve ordered new filter arriving today… will need a good clean like you’ve done, but other than that still serves its purpose for now🤞thanks for the video👍🏻
Great job Sam 👌👌👌
I really love the DC15's
Yes these are great machine
Great video. The vacuum at my office, insurance agency, with three people is that same machine but it's the one with the clear brush roll cover. Might need to do a little more than just cleaning the bin as I have been doing.
I thoroughly enjoyed your video , helped me with my old DC15 , I wonder Sam , which vacuum cleaner would you recommend buying ?
Still got mine and working well. I had to replace the on switch a while ago which cost £6.
Hi I have tried to take brush out because it was stopped by mistake I have opened silver metal plate under neath the brush bar. Now one small plastic part came out how don't how put back.pleas help how put back thanks
I just picked one of these up, it's missing the short brush bar and end cap, currently the brush bar isn't spinning. I'm not sure if it's missing anything else.
Is it worth spending money on parts for it?
Could be borderline unless you want one anyway! The brushroll not spinning could be a broken loom wire, I'd try and get that going first before splashing out on new brushrolls...
this along with the dc24 and dc25 had stopped servicing and parts
I really love these would you ever do a video on stripping these down?? is it particularly hard?
I've only ever had a few apart and it's quite involved... The yolk is quite tricky! I don't see many nowadays though, part of the reason I did a video on this one! A bulletproof reliable Dyson from the era when that was normal!
@@beko1987 Nice!! Id love to buy one second hand but worried wouldnt be able to fix ill have to see 😎
Absolutely junk vacuum (electrical problems). Nice cleanup though. I think the newer ones are better but having some issues still.
Disappointing video. I have a d15, you just flew past key points like disconnecting the little side hose, even after I paused and replayed, doesn't clearly show how it comes off. All you did was clean out the inside. Wow
You realise this isn't a how to video 😭
@@Mr_D2_1004N "servicing and cleaning" IS IN THE TITLE NUMBNUTS!🤡
@@Carolina-nn6yeyeah it's a servicing video doesn't mean he is showing how everything works on it does it💀💀
@@vacuum_collector26 I KNOW how it works. I found other videos that properly showed the process. Sit tf down, your comment has NOTHING to do with my comment. I will say it again since you didn't comprehend the first time around. THIS VIDEO IS CALLED SERVICING AND CLEANING UP ON AN OLD DYSON DC15.
He FLEW BY THE WHOLE PROCESS. I FOUND ANOTHER VIDEO THAT SHOWED HOW TO PROPERLY SHOW THE PROCESS. NOWHERE IN THIS WHOLE CONVERSATION DID I SAY "DUH, I DON'T KNOW HOW IT WORKS"! 🤡🤡🤡💀💀💀💀🖕🖕
