    I have to admit, I didn't even know the DC 15 "Ball" vacuum had a post motor filter. I've been using this thing since 2006 and its been a reliable workhorse of a vacuum. I'll spend whatever I have to to keep it running. I owe it that much.

    Thanks for posting the instructions. Our Dyson has been around a very long time. I’ve replaced the beater bars twice, once for the hose, and thanks to your help the HEPA filter. I wouldn’t worry about damaging the clips on the old filter. In fact, it might be easier just to snap them off as the new filter has built in clips.

    • @DillonCleans
      @DillonCleans  Před rokem +1

      You are right about possibly snapping the filter to make it easier. I’ve always just tried to get things done without breaking things. But you certainly could break them and it be perfectly fine. So glad your dyson has served you well for many years. And with proper maintenance like you’ve done, they will last and last and last.

    Thanks for posting this. I have had mine DC15, for over 15 years, or thereabouts and finally just changed out that filter. Yep it was like yours pretty black. Hopefully it will not spew out so much airborne dust, and have better suction. Good job!

      Awesome to see it still going strong! I recommend also replacing the brushroll as well as the pre motor filter and the post motor filter. The pre motor filter might still be okay but if it’s falling apart after all these years, good idea to replace it. Keep that vacuum running! You don’t see too many of them still working in homes

    • @DillonCleans
      @DillonCleans  Před 2 lety +3

      Uhhh what. I literally didn’t damage this machine. Dyson made it intentionally hard because it originally wasn’t meant to be replaced. But these machines lasted longer than Dyson intended. So they do need to re replaced. Nothing was damaged. And I told you that you can use a cloth between the screwdriver to avoid damage. Idk what you’re on about. You’re the only one who had a problem with this video. If you think you can do this better. Please make a video better than mine. In the mean time, my video is great. Have a nice day.

    • @DillonCleans
      @DillonCleans  Před 2 lety +1

      @@yphonkelley1226 they certainly do last. I personally think cleaning after each use isn’t necessary. But if it works for you go right ahead. I just keep an eye on my filters. Once the top layer of the filter has a layer of dust on it, I will clean it. The dc15 had a reputation of not lasting. But if you take care of them like you do, they will last a lifetime
