    1. If you forget to pop your canister open before unscrewing the top, unravel a wire hanger. I clipped off the twirly bits before trying it but it popped right open.
    2. Yeah, he absolutely has never cleaned this vacuum before. But he also made the shortest video. Which is why you all clicked on it. We don't need a 20 minute video on this. We don't care what your carpet looks like or if you have pets or your pets names. It WOULD be nice if Dyson put out short professional videos, but they didn't. So, thank you dude in a loud shop tearing into your vacuum with a camera on. I'm happy you didn't break it. And I'm happy we can learn from your possible mistakes. I know I could have broken my landlords vacuum had I done the same thing.

      If you forget to pop open your canister as you say then just simply just remover the 1 screw and remove the long rod and you will find that you can very easily line up the rod down the bottom where the trigger is and push the rod so it opens the lid.

  • @mehdir100
    @mehdir100 Před 5 lety +10

    Before removing the screws, you should make sure the bottom door is open, otherwise it gets stuck and it's not easy to re-adjust the bar at the bottom and fix it.

      I did this by accident. I unraveled a wire hanger, clipped off the twirly bits (because I could) and it became unlatched easily. BUT it took a few days to figure that out. So, I might add that again, not as a reply and maybe in a less jumbled way

  • @1gtmach
    @1gtmach Před 4 měsíci +2

    I remove the canister from the cyclone, remove the 3 screws ontop and then remove the top part. I then use an extended air gun on it and blow it all clean, reversing direction blowing in each individual cylone hole down inside snd blowing back up the screen like peice. Back and forth. I cant seperate the 2 cyclone halves even after removing the screws inside the cyclone, afraid of breaking it. Good enough for me. I also remove other parts and wand extension and blow threw them.

    Good video. I can turn my had to pretty much anything. However I’ve never taken a dyson apart before. If you haven’t done it before you don’t know what’s clipped in and what’s fixed. Like those fins. Even looking closely you’d thing it was all one piece.

    I cant even get the basic canister off. Vacuum seems designed specifically to accumulate dirt after long enough (yet fast enough) to keep people thinking to buy another one (having in mind how great it worked in yrs prior) while it slowly loses suction. Otherwise by design there's no reason it shouldn't be more easily accessible to deep clean.

Still nothing. Any ideas? Am I screwed??

    • @bootsowen
      @bootsowen  Před 5 lety

      Hi There, if there is no sound at all then it is quite likely that there is no power getting to the motor, could be a cut in the cord, a blown fuse in the plug, the switch could be faulty, or one of the wires within the machine could have come off when you rebuilt it. The twisted belt brush should not stop the motor working, but it is a good indication of how skilled you are at rebuilding the machine. Take care! especially if you are working with electrics which will kill you!
