Oil Springs, Birthplace Of The Petroleum Industry - World's Oldest Oil Company, Fairbanks Oilfield

Oil Springs Ontario, birthplace of the oil industry. Drilling for a water sourve and instead oil was found. We travel to southern Ontario to look at the pump jack and jerker line setup. You can see oil being pumped right out of the ground. We also look at various pieces of equipment that are used in the oilfield.
The Fairbanks Oil Company is the oldest oil company in the world. Oil was discovered here in 1858 and the ruch began. Fairbanks Oil was founded in 1861 and still operates the oilfields to this day. There is a refinery in Sarnia, Ontario.
We look at the evolution of the petroleum industry and how it spread throughout the world to 86+ countries. Canadian oilmen traveled the world to help other countries start there oil industry.
