The Alola Islands have a BIG Problem, and it’s name is Yungoos. Humans on Alola imported the Yungoos to rid the island of unwanted vermin, like the Rattata. What they didn’t realize is that this has a far greater effect than what they intended. Because the Yungoos is not native to Alola, it has no natural predators there, and this allows it to live unchecked! In this episode, I’ll reveal how the imported Yungoos will DESTROY Alola’s ecosystem and native Pokemon!

Legend has it that Mat Pat is still looking for his keys.
〖JƗzz〗Ne0n *gasp* really? Are you sure? Everyone says its just a myth!
〖JƗzz〗Ne0n this legend is probably true
Long ago, a man name Matthew Patrick had lost his keys. He had searched far and wide. But nowhere in that 2 foot radius, could he find his keys. Some say his search goes on, others say he died thousands of years ago. But one thing is for sure...... his keys...... were never found.
but hey, thats just a theory...
No, its a theory...a Keychain Theory
Theory: The reason that there are Espeons and Umbreons in the wild on Route 4 and 6 is this... They are the parental guardians of the wild Eevees and are combatting the yungoos.

Hi Charles the French
@@justsomerandomdudethatyoud7806 bonjour
they need to fix it ;( cuz i love a few of the pokemon :((((((((
Except this theory has been debunked
It's funny because Australia is basically a prime example of why invasive species are bad...To combat insects eating crops, farmers introduced the cane toad, which is a supertough amphibian and is now rampant throughout midwestern Australia, and they eat a lot of native insects...And early colonists introduced rabbits to hunt for fun, next thing you know there's over a billion rabbits in Australia and we have to build the world's longest fence to keep them out and introduce foxes to hunt/kill them, and then foxes spread out and start killing native wildlife like penguins on Phillip Island...Bloody hell the early colonists were dumb. Feral cats are also a real problem in Australia
If Nintendo sees this they're gonna make gen 8 pokemons with them
Aren't Dingos originally non native to Australia as well? I remember hearing something about them being descended from dogs that English Colonists brought with them.
I think the descendance of dogs is right, but much older than that...Maybe dogs Aboriginals bought with them 80,000 years ago
If you think the fence was just for rabbits then you didn't see the movie Rabbit-Proof Fence.
No they are native wild dogs and have existed LONG before the British came to Australia.
"Igglybuff"

OMGOSH WORST DAY EVER!
I didn't know this when I first saw this video, but apparently the fact that yungoos and meowth being invasive species was not a coincidence. The ultra beasts were explained in an interview to be based on invasive species. So it's not to farfetched to say that a theme in the Pokemon sun, moon, ultra sun, and ultra moon was invasive species... or not idk

I know the solution. All invasive pokemon must be catched and shipped into the original regions.
It's impossible.
But what if they rebelled themselves?
Not Good
But some of them got different forms, wouldn't that become an invasive species too?
Rick Roll I think taking them back will make them adapt back to their environment since that’s how alolan Pokémon are

Bring In dittos And Breed Eevee To Overpopulation
You forgot that pretty much everything in the wild is extremely powerful. A level 4 zorua can defeat a literal destroyer of universes. In the real world, the creatures didnt have defenses. For example, any Pokémon that can learn a fairy type move ( jigglypuff, comfey, cottonee, carbink, etc.) will be able to control the populations of makuhita and meowth.
It's ironic that MatPat used some of the pokedex entries for this theory, after he made another Pokemon theory about pokedex is unreliable.

omg it literally says “i wanna be the very best” in norwegian on that door
Haha i thought it was just a simple translation on my video but it turns out it originally says that!
Counterpoint: these species weren't just introduced to Alola, many have been there long enough to evolve enough to be distinct from their mainland cousins. It stands to reason that the ecology of Alola has already reached equilibrium more or less.
I has a theory idea for you:
Mew and Victini are one and the same, i mean they learn most of the same moves, they are the same type, same height and weight and both are adorable. And unbeatable.
This reminds me of when I took a vacation to Key Largo (island off the coast of Florida), and we kept seeing iguanas and found out that they're a big invasive species, so much so we could capture them whenever we felt like it and the park rangers would freeze them in a freezer.
We must've saw at least 7 around our campsite and a good dozen around the restaurants.
Though it was fun trip.
Also thanks for making this video matpat.
Also matpat never counted in the fact that some trainers are going to go on a rampage making every Pokémon they face faint, and the fact that evil organizations (or gangs) are gonna take and exploit Pokémon they find.

Hey, so MatPat, I see you talked about pokemon going extinct, but how about humans? In pokemon mystery dungeon, there are no humans, but the reason for this is because they went extinct. You know, thinking about it, this 'imported Pokemon harming natives' could be a good way for GameFreak to get away with having reduced Pokedex in future. Certain species not being allowed into a region because they are at risk, certain species not being allowed in because they are a risk. Heck, this could even be why Sword and Shield have reduced rosters of Pokemon
You can tell because Yungoos have more realistic hair. SHOTS FIRED!!!
Great video, Matpat, but I'm pretty sure if a Makuhita disturbed a Spearow nest it would be immediately attacked by a horde of Spearow. Remember the first episode of the anime? Plus fighting is weak against flying and Spearow's hatch with Peck, so I think they'll be all right. Pichu would probably be fine too since Pikachu live together in large groups (noted in both the anime and several Pokedex entries in the games), and while Pichu aren't that tough, yungoos' base special defense is absolute garbage. The adult Pikachu would likely drive them off from their territory. Eevee, Delibird, and igglybuff are probably screwed though. Eevee has a better base stat total, but would likely be overwhelmed by sheer numbers considering how low their spawn rates are comparatively. Same with the other two, who have worse stats than Eevee and are even rarer in Delibird's case.
Eevee would be fine. Why? Well, not only are it's evolution options versatile, but people LOVE it. Populations decreasing would cause massive efforts to preserve it, maybe even leading to the full-on extermination of other species. Also, due to its popularity, it would likely be bred and perhaps even some would be released into the wild to repair the populations.
Dan Blake the spearows would kill the makuhita but they've still lost their homes.
Pokémon don't die. They faint. They'll be fine.

Gimmicky Games. Lol
Thing is Pokemon is nothing like the real world. Given their combat capabilities (like how you can have a Raticate fight against a Gumshoos and win if its strong enough) the whole predators vs. prey thing is a lot less fragile. Pokemon evolve _very_ quickly, as we can see from the Aloloan variants, so chances are they'll be able to adapt to those changes pretty well. Grimer, for example, is all over the Kanto region and is literally made of toxic waste, yet its effect on the environment and the Pokemon around is appears to be pretty miniscule so far.
Matpat forgot about the most dangerous creatures than Yungoos, Makuhita, Grimer, and Meowth.
1. The ultra beasts
2. Eiscue (pokemon SwSh)
Dex entry states it floated across an iceberg to Galar.
3. Meltan and Melmeatal (let's go Pikachu and Eevee, SwSh, GO)
4. Technically the Ledgenary pokemon found in the Dens in the Dynamax adventures
5. Cheep Cheep (super mario)
Yes I'm talking about your favorite fishy friend from the Mario series, they also have made an appearance in Ledgend of Zelda. So yes they might potentially be a threat to ocean life.
Meowth could help actually..... If humans brought Yangoose to deal with Ratata population, but those couldn't do it because Ratata's are nocturnal, well Meowth COULD help with this problem, in a few Pokedex entries Meowth is said to be nocturnal, in Alola its even a DARK type. Also, keep in mind that cats kill 20.7 billion small rodents A YEAR. (But still, that doesn't solve the problem that Meowths would also kill birds)
Welp, lets ready our gothitelles and alakazams, we're gonna need to break time and space.
YouThinkI'mNotCrazy ?? LET'S BREAK DA TIME AND SPACE
Meowth could help another way: if you've seen Austin's theory about the move payday, use payday grinding from that theory to combat invasive species, perhaps by making it a requirement for a license to create money with/grind money out of payday (assuming that money is being created, rather than teleported).
exactly. invasive species are not always a bad thing. alolan meowth could be a second attempt at dealing with rattata where the humans did more research.
Actually, i'm going to still you right there.
More invasive species is NOT good. Cats especially since they are an absolute ecological terror. Rates are hard to catch. You know what's fun? Birds. The common house cat had the largest diet of literally any cat and most other animals. Bugs, mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians--the only thing they don't eat are plants! They are hugely successful predators and bred at a high rate, constantly going into heat, sometimes getting pregnant while nursing kittens, and having litters from 3-7 kittens. With no known natural predator and the series if humans at their backs, cats can demolish anything.
Just look at Australia! The English imported rabbits to kill for sport. When the rabbits escaped, they ate all the food the natives were trying to eat. When they got to numerous, humans decided to introduce the rabbits' natural predator: the fix. But wouldn't you know it, wallabies are easier to kill than rabbits so foxes killed them. More they have an incredibly efficient predator and prey that don't bother with each other and double-team Australia.
Is recommended looking at Australian invasive species. There are whole lines of multiple creatures being let loose. They're the definition of "don't fight invasive species with more invasive species."
Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but isn't this why dodos became extinct? People brought pigs over, and the pigs ended up hunting them to extinction.
The pigs killed them all, and then they brought swine over.
I thought it was just people who overhunted the dodos
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was mostly the people who hunted them.
The Dragon Historian not exactly. sailors constantly killed them because dodos were fearless of humans and couldnt fly, which meant they were easy prey. However Dodo meat was considered unsavory and was mainly eaten by sailors. Humans did, however, destroy the Dodo's habitats, while simultaneously introducing pigs, dogs, rats, macaques, and cats to the environment.
no people helped too.

Eevee is all about evolution as far as adapting to yungoose being invasive it think an eevee is more suited to adapt to it than a rattata.
Yea. Plus Any Eeveelutions are probably capable of defending. Just because there not good for competetive doesn't mean there super weak. Even Flareon would be able to defend.
Jubikus Except they can only evolve by hitting a certain level near a rock (and that just gives them grass or ice typing in a grass or ice type biome) or getting given an evolutionary stone by a trainor. They can't just become a Flareon because it fits the occasion.
Except that in the Alolan region, you can catch some evolved versions in the wild. Wild Umbreon and Espeon do show up, unlike anywhere else in the game world. This means that Eevee are already displaying adaptation by evolving naturally into more powerful forms, capable of fighting back far better than their unevolved state. Umbreon have rather high Def. and Sp. Def. at base, while Espeon have solid offensive capabilities. While they may not be the best, they are better overall than Yungoose or Gumshoe, and would be fully capable of defending themselves and the eevee that run with them.
You know... this would have been the perfect chance to introduce a rock type Eevee evolution in order to adapt to yungoos normal type! Or a ghost type...
In theory that sounds good, some Eevees will evolve and be able to defend themselves. But what about the next generation? Will they be able to protect their young while the young are still in eggs? Will a predator easily sneak into the den with either eggs or baby Eevees in there and eat them all? Yes. Unless Eevees and their evolutions start nesting in groups or with mates, their young are still easy prey.
I’m from Hawai’i, and figured this out a while ago. Thank you for making it public though
3:35. The text on the door is danish and translates to ''I want to be the very best'' wich is most likely a reference to the first pokemon series intro.

Jayden Hussey nice
Jayden Hussey he has
Jayden Hussey never mind but Austin has before he joined this channel czcams.com/video/OWTpCSyHPNw/video.html
He can't because it would be all about how Pikachu isn't actually all that powerful as compared to real lightning bolts or other such things, knowing him.
It's not about Electricity per say, but more like the AMPs. For Electricity Volts is how easily something can travel, think of the number of lanes on a road. AMPs on the other hand is more like the Speed of the Cars. For 1 amp you can survive 1,000,000 Volts or MORE. Meanwhile for amps, you can survive a number FAR less than even 1,000 AMPs.

Just throwing the ball here... what if you make a poll for each theory to see how many People you've convinced and agree with your theory how many aren't?
MAXREAPER5533 booo
That's actually a pretty good idea.
MAXREAPER5533
It'd take a while but that's a good idea
You're a thinker man. We need more people like you.
Throwing the "POKE" ball here...
Legend says it that the guy from the start is still looking for the keys

Mlg pizza Gamer I MURDER EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THE YUNGOOS AND GUMSHOOS WHEN EVER K ENCOUNTER THEM
How about we work towards the extinction of spammers instead?
Mlg pizza Gamer
I'd do the same.
That's an indirect threat
“Igglybuff,”
Me: Okay, don’t really mind that one...
“Pichu,”

“And Eevee”
Me: *NO NO NO THIS IS NOT HAPPENING WHAT ABOUT THE EEVEELOUTIONS WHAT ABOUT MY FAVORITE POKÉMON WHAT ABOUT SYLVEON?!?!?!*
Pichu and eevee are fine. Just stay near parents. A pretty much regular cat and mongoose dont have a prayer against things that shoot lightning and fire and stuff.
true.
Pikachu is the invaled version of raichu
Haha! At least its not animatronics killing children in the 80's :D hehheh
There is a more ecological solution: hire trainers in all the planet that use machamp, medicham and pidgeot(all the ejemplars must be MALE by law) to deal with those invasive species, machamp to took over yungoose and rattata, medicham for grimer and pidgeot for makuhita, why only males? Because of this form there is no risk that if a trainer release one of those pokemon can breed in wilderness, the nurse joys and jenny officers could be in the aduanas checking carefully that the trainers only have male ejemplars of those species.
It or train local pokemon of such type to a level capable of get rid of those invasive species like crabrawler, oranguru or toucannon. You want to save eeve? Go and catch a MALE machamp to help
Man ı was thinking that the intro never gets old and idk if everbody realised that if theres an BIG theory the intro changes
"To find out which mons get the munch."
I think that sentence landed differently than intended...
