Emily, it's easy to see you got your looks, personality, and that gorgeous smile directly from your mother !
The smile on your mom's face when you delivered the MG to her was just so great. The "Little Dandy" will be loved.
I kept watching Emily's face in the camera like "look how happy she is!!"
My 73 was one of my favorite memories of being a young adult! The freedom and the connection to the road is unforgettable!! Thank you!!♥️
I love the family aspect of this one. Nice seeing mom and the grandparents. So much love and joy brought to this family with one car!
Glad to see you got the mg going that made your mom so happy she is so nice.
Your Mom's joy was so great brought her back to her school days her excitement was awesome great job guys
My foray into British Leyland's finest was the Triumph Spitfire. Through the years, I've owned five Spits and a GT6. They are the Midget's cousin. Discovering Weber carbs and Canon manifolds was life changing! You have made your mother and grandfather very happy. This little Midget is so much more than just a car. Love seeing your mom's face light up like a schoolgirl. Sweet. Thank you both for being true to your mother's automotive loves. Godspeed!
Your mom is remembering back in the good old days! I'm 70 and do the same thing, especially when hearing 70's music!
Awesome y'all got momma back on the road. And that smile just says it all how she feels.
I get so tickled at your mom driving the Midget. She is totally transformed back to 16 years old. She’s precious.
She sure is!!! Dude, she drives Dandy just about every day!!!! She loves her!!
@@flyingsparksgarage Thats so awesome! I’m an MG guy. Please fold that top correctly so you don’t put holes in it. If you need instructions. I’m more than Happy to elaborate
@@flyingsparksgarage Btw, I love what you’re doing!
Your mom was beamin' with happy. Done good, Emily and Aaron!
Supperzilla try it now
Loving this MG stuff. My first car (in early 69) was a 56 MGA my Dad found cheap. I was barely 16 and loved it. it wasn't pretty but I didn't care. Fast forward to today...I picked up a pretty clean 77 MGB from a neighbor a few months ago and am going through the checking stuff out phase and working on getting it road worthy. I'm turning 70 next Tuesday and hopefully that will also be it's first true road test!. I love your videos and wish I had a shop like yours, but mine is pretty much under a canopy and hope it isn't too windy. Keep the videos coming and tell your Mom and Grandpa thanks for being MG nuts...we must be distantly related somewhere down the line :) Cruising in Colorado!
That joy is priceless. Wonderful how a car can make you feel like a teen again.

If the piece you're trying to remove is square often it will be a 1/4", 3/8th, or equivalent metric. Take either and put a hex drive socket (1/4" for example) so the 1/4" is reversed and the end normally in the ratchet is on the piece. Then get whatever bit-sized socket you've chosen and put it on the reversed bit. I used this to free up the lube hole in a Jeep steering gear.
Holy Cow!!!! I've seen Evaporust on the shelf but NEVER in a million years thought it would work that good. I'm definitely going to have to go get some now!!!!
Congratulations for your success Aaron lol.
I've been told I need to soak my GTO in it now lol 🤣🤣
@@gtomadness0433 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
If you have a bunch of rusty stuff to clean I do recommend this stuff.I also have some stuff called Dr. X and if you leave parts in that one too long it will actually destroy the metal.Learned the hard way on that.
I love how you show your mom such love and respect, and you have FUN together. Your nieces will learn much from you.
Hey Y'all. I worked in a machine shop, and learned that to remove rusty bolts, heat it up and rub a plain old candle on it. The melted wax gets drawn into the threads, and well-ah!
It has never failed me! It helps to say... "Hocus pocus", as you apply force to it. Ha ha!
great job Aaron, nice to see big smiles on Emils and moms face . Yall amaze me
I’m so happy you guys, your mothers face just glows with excitement and joy for her little dandy!
God bless y'all for not giving up on the MG. You are living proof of the American attitude that got us through WWII, and will get us through the current explosion of the US dollar, the disaster with the Keystone Pipeline cutoff, starving the American newborn baby citizens to feed the illegal aliens, greed grabbing of the Dakota lands, American farmers and ranchers being driven into nonexistence. We will survive. Never give up.
Seeing the excitement of your mom and grandparents is the most heartwarming thing I've ever seen on CZcams. It brought tears to this old crusty 69year-old guy!
MG's have style. They were responsible for the birth of GM"s Corvette. The MG's and racoon coats were permeating the college campuses. It was all the rage. I used to work on them back in my early shop days. The problems were the slave and master cylinders in the clutch and brakes. The Lucas wiring system had connectors made out of aluminum which used to tarnish, and required periodic cleaning. The rockers and floor boards use to rust out, and especially under the battery boxes under the MGB. If you tune them up you need to do the whole thing, and not just part because each part was interdependent upon the other including valve adjustment, removal of the top of the SU carb, carb cleaner, and then a coating of fine machine oil, as well as putting some in the removable piston from the top.
I love the obvious love you both have for Emily’s mom, much respect!
Evapo-Rust in an ultrasonic cleaner fixed a one off variable vane turbine housing that was rusted up for my Beretta Concept car. Stuff is amazing.
Can I sure relate with your husband(?). He was sitting on that porch in his shorts. When I noticed the dirt on his knees, I had to say, "Now, there is a true DIYer."
..nice job working with the parts you had. It takes a lot to walk away and think about things but usually it pays off, even if you just take an early lunch break..and things go better when you're not hungry too. 😉
Great job and gift for your mom! Seeing your grandfather’s reaction was priceless as well. And Evaporust - love that stuff! Thanks for sharing.
Every MG Midget driver Ive seen has a permanent smile plastered across their face and now I think I know why... Your mum's excitement and smiling face says it all and I'm now sold. I want one too Emily!! Two spunky women in a Midget getting coffee?!🤣Aaron, you just lost that car. Need to buy another Midget man... You'll never get that one back !
It was pretty neat seeing the smile on your mother's face. So much joy
Great job guys!!! Happy for you all. Your mom looks so happy to have her car .
Oh my! Thank you for sharing 3 generations of smiles! Isn't it interesting to see the similarities of the generations: Grandpa & Aaron, Grandma, Mom and Emily! Fun ...
108* oh the song by Arrow "Hot Hot Hot" Thank you for putting smile on my face!!
Lot of work, but the look on your Mom's face: Priceless!
Emily you and your mom so happy together having fun makes me happy as well, great times!😁👊
A '57 MGA was the first car I owned. It was a beater (but had a newly rebuilt engine). Ugly and rusty but I loved it. Great to see your mom's little MG get a new lease on life!
Loving your tiny Midget series.
I just purchased a 1975 Midget that needs some tender loving care.
I can't tell you how much your videos have already helped me understand how I need to do some of the work that needs done, especially the top and seats.
Thank you!
That's impressive!! Did someone say a new sponsor?!? 👍😀👍 The new plates for the MG - EVAPRST!! 🤪😀🤪
Can't believe you've only just now discovered the magic of Evaporust. Also get yourself some old school brake spring tools.
That car was made for the dog, he looks good! The car sounds good those little engines sound good. We didn't wear seat belts back in the day, Miracle any of us lived.
28:35 What a lovely family of folks!! So filled with beautiful life!!
Sure do appreciate it! ♥️
Great videos. It is so amazing to have the family so close. Your mom is so happy in that MG. Helps her remember her youth. These are memories that last forever. Keep up the great videos.
for stuff like the bearing install..I always put the bearing in the freezer for a half day or so..use a propane torch to warm up the housing..( some pple put the housing in the oven @ 350)..I did once..Mrs. mine..cared not for the cloud of stinky, oily housing in her kitchen..lol..cold bearing, warm housing..no pounding..just drop in the bearing..tap with non maring tool to test the seat..done.
A really great video. Your Mom was all the way back in high school. It was so much fun watching the two of you buzz around town. I loved your grandpa's remarks about three MGs.
I love how much joy this little car brings you especially your mum ❤😆
After having so much trouble with the brakes it was so nice to see your moms face lite up this was one of your best videos that I have watched ,your mom seems like a very spirited lady hope she has many more years of driving the MG. Thank you for sharing.
Great episode and the way your mom smiles says it all,but the engine in your MG is the most happy in 3000 rpm so do a little more tuning and try to keep her at that rev and no more then 65k (y)
IT'S NICE TO SEE THAT YOU ALL HAVE GOT THE MG GOING AGAIN
Hanging out with mom driving the freshly fixed MG, that;s a win.
Awesome you get to be a part of bringing so much joy to your mother. She is truly loving every minute of the time she spent in that car and with her daughter. 😊
Your mom was so happy!
It's cool to see you hangin with Momma, she's diggin that MG 👍
Your mom is the BEST! She is truly just loving that little gokart of a car and totally gets what it is all about.
Great work Aaron LOL it all paid off in the smiles in those two cute little ladies making memories and reliving old ones you little lady are living the dream grandparents on the same property family is very important and to see how closely kept everything appears to be kudos to you guys wouldn't mind seeing Grandpa take a rip with your mom. Keep up the good work you guys look forward to the next videos.
Very cool!! YAY the MG!!! You two ladies are beauties!!! Take care !! Mike
Love you ladies so much! And so fun to see Patty and Ralphie too!! 😘
We all love you too Barb!!!
@@flyingsparksgarage what do you know about "Knocking on Wood" 🤣🤣✌🏻🇺🇸
aww that smile from your mom was priceless
Oh, your mom's so stoked!! Awesome! Nice work, y'all! It's coming together nicely! Now you just have to find a place to get it POR-15 dipped!😄
What a nice place for your grandfolks, too! I've never seen their house before.
Thanks, guys! You vanquished the backing-plate beast, and gave us all a fun day! ✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
Great that you have that and work on it for you Mom.... Also, that you guys can all live close. Also, for the copper washers you can replace them or in a pinch just heat them with a torch to make them soft again. They will seal up.
Congratulations! Also, thank you for using thread sealant instead of teflon tape, that tape stuff comes off and gums things up!
Did the brakes on my Silverado over the weekend. Haven't seen anyone else do this, but I put a ratchet strap around the shoes to hold them steady while I used vice-grips to install the springs. So much easier!
Just got back from out of town and saw your post, very cool that you got that stubborn adjuster out of the backing plate. Evaporust looks like a great product for sure! Emily's mom will be well-pleased!
Thanks for another great video!😎👍👍👍
Oh wow, when your mom starts driving her you girls look like two very nice chicks. You girls have very nice smiles in your faces.
Thanks for making my day !!!
Congrats Lady's on ur Mom's first drive in the Little Dandy. She is all Smiles..
MG's are such a fun ride!
Making turns in them are a blast, even at 15 mph.
You two are such a fun pair
Glad to see your mom happy.
I could not stop smiling watching your mom drive her car
Your mom’s beautiful smile made that hard work totally worth it. ;)
Your Mom is awesome! Genuine happiness right there!
I Watched your video when you changed the oil in your boat(drill pump). I have a manual pump that pumps all the old oil out I 3-5 minutes. It pumps like a bicycle pump. After 4-5 pumps, it works as a siphon. Much less frustrating than the “slow” drill pump.
Best,
Glen in Pensacola…
Awsome what you did for your mom. Love when people do for their families
Your mom's smile and excitement are so damn cute, well done ya'll!!
Thanks Jerry!! It’s so awesome to see her so happy 😁
Congratulations 🍾🎊🎉🎈 and it’s awesome to see you and your mom hanging out together 🎉❤️❤️❤️
What a sweet family, so glad that you were able to get it going for you mom to cruise in
Emily you and your momma as well as your whole family are the most inspirational people on You Tube for sure. Thanks so much for sharing, love you guys. 👍
That’s so kind of you to say! Thank you Steve 🙏🏼💛
During the covid shut down a 79 mgb found me through a friend had been sitting about 18 years looked pretty bad but after a clean up and some work it's looks great no rust runs get and has a over drive
10/10 epic mom points for sure!
There is something extra with old small cars. :)
Mr. Finley is such a gentleman he knows it's ladies 1st
i love evaporust! a year ago i inherited a bunch of tools, four 5 gal buckets of which were rusty from laying buried on a garage floor for 50-60 yrs. Out of which i had a set of early 1900s Ford monkey wrenches that were all seized and hardly looked like a wrench. After i week of soaking in Evaporust they all look like new! And the thumb screws all work! I was totally shocked and very happy this nontoxic chemical worked like magic! Saved me weeks, or months, of wire brushing and messing with all these antique tools.
So remember this next time guys for rusty parts. 💯
Well, wow!! To mom and the MG!! I have been watching for a bout 2 years and you and Aaron amaze me. What a team! I was thinking that the fuel cell needs to be taken off and given a bath!! Of course I know nothing about that kind of overhaul!! Now I have to sit back and wait for the next adventure! Stay cool and God Bless!
So many smiles all y'all's hard work paid off in aces!!
Thank you for sharing y'all's talents and adventures!!!
I can hear a definite exhaust leak on the cold start. Finley loves that car ! No doubt in my mind.
Those MG midgets are a lot of fun but at 75 yrs I have found that getting my legs back to the door opening is almost impossible. Didn’t seem to be a problem when in my early 20’s
Love the look on moms face when she seen the car is great! Now just one thing PLEASE put a better muffler on the thing!! Can't wait to see the next video!
If everybody could be as happy as you and Aaron made your Mom, the world would be a better place!
So good, thanks for sharing your Mom's happiness
Emily Mamas are everything enjoy every precious moment ❤️
I've been a long time viewer of your channel it's one of the best ones out there top 5 I've I'm really happy to see your mom smile smile and how excited she is it's amazing what a car can do for someone
Thank you so much Paul!!!
Super great episode. Absolutely awesome! Your mom is amazing and your grandparents seem pretty great people, too!
What a awesome video you guys have made mum so happy 😊, that's what life is all about beautiful memories, thanks again for sharing take care you all and stay safe 👍 😊.
It's nice to see you guys prevail! 👏👌👍✌️🇺🇲
Evaporust is love, Evaporust is life! (so is Brakleen)
Loved seeing your mom's reaction! Genuinely thrilled to be driving the car!! She's so lucky to have a daughter and son-in-law like you both!
I know it's been ungodly hot in Texas, but will you two be working on the trailer reno this fall?
It’s the little things 😂. She’s so happy 😃
I'm not far from getting my MK1 Sprite on the road. Looking forward to the smiles!!! Thanks for posting these videos.
Your Mom's face said it all, congrats on the finish.
I still have the special tool that was available in 1971 that fits snugly over the square adjuster and is about 10 inches long. The backing plates were always a pain on minis and midgets - watch your fingers and eyes reassembling the springs that hold the shoes together!!
it's nice to have the family involved
The absolute joy in her face, is priceless...👍👍👍
So proud of you Emily, your whole family is so sweet..from San Antonio, TX
Perma-grin on your mom’s face. …priceless. 👍🏻
Love your family your mom a complete pedal to the metal babe 💕💕💕💕
