The trees you are asking about 29:50 are Eucalyptus trees, also known as Gum trees. They are native to Australia and were brought out from Australia during the 1850's California Gold Rush. There are over 700 sub-species including Eucalyptus Regnans which is the tallest flowering plant in the world, and 2nd tallest plant overall after the California Redwood. Hi from an Australian currently in the USA. Enjoying the videos.

Give the rubber bushings on the idler arm a shot of silicone spray and the steering squeak will probably go away. I did buy an aftermarket bearing kit for that idler arm but never got around to installing it.

I love that nova. It's unique. Has a charm to it. Nice designed vehicle. My first car was a 70 nova. 250 6. 4 door. The power glide was good once it got going but takeoff was slow because 1st gear is like 2nd.

I see your sweet Nova needs a headliner. Place in Nee Mexico will make it fit perfect by you just telling them all the measurements! I installed period perfect headliners in Chrysler cars of the 60’s and 70’s. Key to s cloth headliner is patience and stretching gently. Mine always came out perfectly. You can do little tacks of glue until!!!! NEVER EVER TRIM UNTIL IT IS IN PERFECTLY! 😊

Awesome! Love the Nova, I live in northern California and while I was still a mailman (now a Supervisor) there was a Nova exactly like Nana that I've been trying to talk the owner out of but she says no. She's the original owner of it and it's the exact duplicate of yours! Guess I'll keep trying and keep driving my 72 Bronco aka Erin Broncovich instead

The sheer adventure of driving a -64 Nova with a short block 283 V8 down the PCH is something straight off of the bucket list...Once you put in some TLC into the rig and service the ball joints and grease them up properly as well as repairing the headliner and throw in a stereo with some speakers plus a engine and tranny tune-up with Lucas fluids to them; and you've a long running rig for a number of years!!!!! Those are just awesome cars, I had one back in the day. Mine also came with a 283 and PowerGlide, I changed it to a 4 speed Muncie, dual exhaust and added some bracing between the firewall and the shock towers. Didn't hot rod it that much, put Hemi mufflers on it and 15"x7" steelies on the rear with G70's I believe, quite the sleeper with it's stock wheel covers. The Hurst Comp+ was the only give away. Enjoy it and be safe.

Back in the late 70s my father picked up a 66 nova 4Dr with in-line 6 and powerglide for $100. It had a broken shock tower and a worn out front seat and moldy carpet. I used the old seat cover as a pattern, bought some vinyl for $15 an old army blanket to smooth out under the vinyl and recovered the seats. Used brown astro turf to carpet it with. I drove it for 2 years while working at Kmart, Then gave it to my brother and he drove it for 6-7 years commuting to work. It ran like a top, only remember needing to weld the shock tower, then at some point replace the ignition switch. It was pretty close to the same color as yours.

@@dominicdevone2684 yes Central Coast of NSW, not far from, almost surrounded by the bush, won't be long before the bush fire season is upon us. You being in the Navy, you have probably visited our beautiful country.
      Stay safe Mate 👍👍👍

just realized that your cummins shirt has a shadow of the United States on it... I honestly was thinking "Why is she wearing this shirt with such a bad oil stain.. " LOL. Looking forward to see how much the Nova changes over time, or if she is left a survivor like she is.

The trees are Eucalyptus. Driving the coast is always a blast. I hope you went down hwy 1 to Half Moon Bay, Camerons Pub, great food and beer, Cameron is the owner, Palmer, really good friend, I used to live there. and then kept going to Santa Cruz, then on to Monterey then on to San Luis Obisbo then 101 Ventura Fwy to I 10 and onto Tejas. Central southern route, 10-15 to Vegas and then 93/985 down to Kingman get on 40 then on on. Or 10 down south to Phoenix and on to Tucson and stay on 10 thru El Paso. In Van Horn 10 or 20 both are fun. The cooler route is 40, temperate cooler. Enjoy

Your new car is a beauty. The trees looked like Eucalyptus. Hearst Castle at San Simeon would be cool for you to see.
