    Ok let me correct a misconception about the movie. The actors were in the rear cockpit of F/A 18 F Super Hornets.
    ... DoD policy is VERY VERY clear on one thing...
    if you aren't fully qualified in an aircraft you don't touch the controls. No actor flew a jet in that movie. They flew IN them. They were put through training for orientation purposes and because those sequences are very real. There is no or minimal CGI in the flying scenes. The actors also were trained in aerial cinematography because they did operate the cameras in the jet. But none of them manipulated the controls.

    • @flyingsparksgarage
      @flyingsparksgarage  Před 2 lety +10

      Well DANG! I hate that I misunderstood that!!! I saw so much coverage about the actors getting their PPLs, moving onto Extras for aerobatics training and then into the jets- but I must have gotten too excited with my understanding that they were the actual PICs in the flying maneuvers!!! Shucks! I wish I could edit my video!!

    • @wntu4
      @wntu4 Před 2 lety +6

      @@flyingsparksgarage Don't worry about it. You're not the only one. Like I said, all that stuff they did was for orientation and acclimation. I'm a pilot and been around planes since a wee thing and I am not at all certain I could handle those maneuvers...but I would sure give a toe or 2 to give it a try. 😁

    • @84yoda4x4
      @84yoda4x4 Před 2 lety +3

      Well said. To add to your comment, the training that the actors went through was due to them being in the aircraft during landing and take offs on a carrier which meant they were over water. They had to be trained in case of an ejections while flying over the water.

    • @wntu4
      @wntu4 Před 2 lety +3

      @@84yoda4x4 Very true. Military aviation is quite dangerous and carrier flying even more so. This very minute the Navy has shut down training flights for a safety pause because they had 3 crashes in I think 8 days losing 6 people. It's no joke and more reason why they don't let actors touch the stick not when even pilots with years of intense training behind them are going down.

The computer wire issue is proof as to why it's best to travel with good friends on the road. So glad it worked out simple. AARON ROCKS!!!! Interesting concept in trying to save petrol. How many miles per roll of paper towel does the Bronco do?
    Aaron, might be a good idea to listen to Emily's suggestion to fit an expansion bottle to the cooling system. Could save the cost of a new engine. You are good at improvising on the go. Just bodge a partly filled drink bottle on the overflow pipe. Probably will help, and surely can't do any harm. Top tip: Don't fill it with paper towels!

    2016 we did the power tour in our 73 K5 Blazer. No top. The second day we got stuck in Houston under a gas station awning for 3 hours. The rest of the week it was over 100. My two sons got burnt...twice. My daughter and I used sunscreen. Shade Shade Shade! We had just finished the LS swap, and the only reoccurring issue was it was pressurizing the gas tank, if we didn't stop to release it it would vapor lock. Leaving Kansas City the hydraulic clutch blew apart on the exit ramp. We limped it into a hotel for the night, and the next morning I found the clutch pieces on the ramp. WOW. rigged it up and made it back to Texas with no more issues.
    Home yalls gremlins are strait, now fun in the sun.....should have got the white top for this trip!

    Great video! You were talking about your house and it looks great. I have an older Victorian style house here in CT. My garage is detached and for years it is where I did all my mechanical work. The last several years it has gotten taken over with auto parts, tires, etc. and the work is getting done outdoors. You have no idea how fast I can change a starter on a 4 cylinder Toyota while it is snowing. For many years that was the only car. Got a couple more now to have back up vehicles. And the garage is getting cleaned out. I didn't have it in me to sell the boat to get another vehicle, now that I got them, a Tacoma and a Camry, I'm rebuilding the boat. Keep up the great work and have fun! Your videos are amazing!

    It is a cute little house. Doesn't mean it doesn't need work though. (My place needs plenty of work too)
    Agreed with not wanting to open the tailgate with the extra weight on it.
    100 miles per fill is going to suck big time. I hope you can get that transfer pump fitted one night.
    A coolant overflow tank will certainly help keeping the coolant in the motor.
    Wow that was a crazy drive. I'm glad the ECU isn't fried.

    Enjoyed the video, but most of all, enjoyed seeing your kitchen at the beginning. I have the same exact stove! It's so old I didn't think there was another one in existence. Happy cooking.

    Hey guys just an idea put a ratchet strap on the spare to the roll bar or the backseat frame so it don't rip the corner out.
