Oakman recently finished his first season in the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts where he had 35 tackles, 6 sacks, was named to the league’s All-Star team, and played in the East Final.
Update: he recently just won a Grey Cup in his second season with the Argos and was named an East Division All-Star with 28 tackles and 6 sacks
Update 2: He finished the 2023 CFL season with another 6 sack campaign and 27 tackles. No all-star nod this time. The Argos lost in the East Final, but he had 3 sacks in the game.

he had a mediocre combine after a so so last year at Baylor. he would have been taken in later rounds with hopes that he would develop, but now, unfortunately, I think his chances are almost none.

He could have been a situational DE in a 4-3 scheme on 3rd and 5 or longer. Not worth even a 3rd rd pick but if u saw potential to groom him into something better he could be worth a late rd pick. But he definitely could have come out of college and been a pass rush specialist immediately.

Shawn Oakman at least had a somewhat happy outcome. Dude played in the XFL for the Los Angeles Wildcats in 2020, which led to him being signed by the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL for the 2021 season. Oakman was selected as a CFL All-Star that year.

Sadly, it's likely too late for him. Not to mention, he was a good player, but elite enough to play in the pro's? Probably not. If he was, he'd be scooped up immediately after the acquittal. If teams were interested, they'd have been monitoring his trial and waiting for the verdict. Unfortunately, I don't think he's playing in the NFL.
