Hey Matt. I think you should do a video about yourself and your basketball background. Like what got you into basketball, when you started liking it and your favorite players maybe. You could do your position and highlights if you got them.
He had one of the coldest high school mixtapes of all time.
Trae Jefferson’s mix was tuff
Jimmy Kim and Trevor Dunbar
FACTZ 💯🚫🧢
An one of the hardest hs nicknames
Him and John Wall's High School mixtapes were the best of all time!
Aquila Carr will forever be a Baltimore legend

If he is a legend what do you call Muggsy Bogues....everyone is a legend now eh ...come on
@@Hunsyquic on that note lemme go watch his footage ... imma ask Muggsy about him next time he comes to Scotiabank arena 🍻
@@romeomontague2309 He was better than muggsy on all levels. Muggs was stronger
Thumbnail does him dirty. Makes it seem as though he's in jail now.
@@wizard8437 Yeah I know. Just sad people would even go as far a selling their souls for views. Anything for some CZcams money.
@Kj valley no he didn't sell his soul in this case. People in general would go as far as selling their soul for likes I was saying. A click bait thumbnail that further perpetuates stereotypes doesn't get praise from me as good business tactics.
@@treyj4007 not that serious sell your soul? Calm down buddy.
@@folkscrazyouthere3076 🙄 did you not read the response to kj. It was a general statement like "people would slap their mother to get subscribers." Maybe I need to edit comment so people can understand
For real, and the fact he wants to spend 5 mins about his career before telling us the answer we all came here for. “Where is he now and what happened”
This guy would be perfect to play in something like the big 3 or TBT
The big3? He is tiny. He also has never played in the nba
@@anwjuice that's not a requirement to play in the big 3. People know who he is. That's how Dusan Bulut and Frank Nitty from the Drew League got to play in that league
I feel like this is who Julian Newman thinks he plays like
😂😂😂 true

Underrated comment
True lol. And Carr’s moves are actually effective against his defenders. If you put the two against one another, Newman has a better jumper, but Carr definitely clamps him up as well and his jumper isn’t bad too. This isn’t just a Newman hate comment either. It’s just facts.
Julian Newman is trash could never compare the two
Wow I coached this kid in football when he was 10 years old with the Gardenville Gators in East Bmore. Was a great football player and led us to a championship game. I wish him nothing but future success and hope he’s doing well these days
Brodie averaged 25 and 8 straight out of middle school😂
Real hoopers know Aquille Carr is the pioneer for high school basketball mixtapes
You trippin John Wall hooptape popped everything off
And1 was my bball mixtape as a kid.....I'm an old head though

John Wall has that on lock
Brandon Jennings my boy 😂
He should've accepted the 750K offer
Yes, I believe he shld of as well. My thoughts are he was scared to leave the hood wasnt ready to move to foreign land. Money was tax free too

Ben Simmons High school highlights might be up there as well
Certain cats are just hood legends... everyone knows they could have made it but due to attitude, outside forces, bad breaks, injuries or a combination of said issues they just never reach they potential... 65 points!? That wasn’t even the thing that caught my eyes... who let him get 9 boards!?
I mean he was short but he could dunk so I don’t think rebounds were that hard to get

No matter what people may say, bro can ball out of this world. I’m still rooting for him.
His domestic assault was his downfall, I’m from md that’s when everything went down hill
Mega Mark women be ya downfall
@Jay Reel let’s not go that far, maybe the D-League or overseas for sure
@George sweet you realize how many people came from worst areas than him and are successfully in the NBA right ?
@@jahanbaxter eh don’t get much worst then B more
He should of attended Seton Hall. That would of improved his skills and a better chance of making it to the NBA.
Bingo
Sometimes they just have to see you can do it on a bigger stage... look at Raffer Alston....💯 Seton Hall definitely would have been the best decision... I really believe he was the next little dynamo to make a dent in the NBA.
I agree
He wasn't going to be an NBA player. But a couple years in college would have stabilized his life and given him a chance to grow up.
His name is pronounced just like Shaquille O’neal but without the sh. Basically pronounced Akeel
Yup! Dude said “Aqwheel”
DC Denizen “Akill”
I used to grow up in hs looking up to him. Such a sad story heart over height for sure. Someone I would’ve loved to see in the nba
He should’ve went to college but he ended up having a kid and going overseas for the money
I hope not to the older woman in one of his vids
He would have never qualified for college
Breon Mitchell I don’t think he’s a better score than IT
@Breon Mitchell stop it. He to little for NBA. Should of went to college and built a legacy and then been better prepared for a chance. Scoring points in the Gleague doesn't show that a player is a NBA player. Gleague probably the 5th,6th,7th best league of bball .
At that point kids ain't cheap and college don't pay so you gotta go play over seas unless your baby mom's is paying more than half the bills . Gotta support that kid somehow .
Remember watching his mixtape back in days just wow, his athleticism was also insane
I haven't subbed until now I see u be grinding this CZcams shit posting everyday keep it up
Love these videos keep it up bro💯💯
He had a career it’s just not in the nba. Everybody can’t make the league no matter how many points you score wherever you are. In the league everybody can score but can he do other things that can make a team win on the nba level. Because he traveled around the g leagues and the nba development system but he never developed into a nba player. This happens to a lot of good players
I want everyone to know he is doing just fine right now, still balling
All I heard was still ballin, that’s all that matters
I believe if he made a CZcams channel and played his cards right he could be big time in the yt bball community. He stands out, he’s amazing with the ball, and he seems like a cool guy.
Yeh fosho
So true
Ik I’m late but what’s his channel
He should have taken that 750,000 contract in Italy. You could buy a very nice house away from big cities in the U.S. with that kind of money and still have 250,000 left over.
$750,000 and DECLINED to play for free, big mistake. Not his fault, but it was a poor choice
Young an dumb at the time money wasn’t the thing he wasn’t focused or worried bout money he was still in highschool
dmoneyひ 750k is 750k
@@dripdownsxz2752 facts lol. 750k to play ball under the age of 20 easy ass decisions. Ben if it was 200k
He was better off taking that 750k and finish his studies in Italy
Why does the headline read star to jail?? The story was good without doing that.... Shady
Well because it's part of his story. Stop being so sensitive
@@anwjuice not sensitive but good try. Star to Jail implies that he was a star and now is in jail, which isn't true. Sounds like you're the fan boy. Once again it was a good story.
@John Rodriguez He changed the title which is fine with me pal. It initially said star to jail like he was currently doing time. The jail thing was 2% of the story. I don't condone assaulting women but the case was dropped (not even sure he did time) and it happened in high-school. The story was good I just disagreed with title which is probably why he changed the title. Check your facts before you type.
I dont know Aquille Carr but I like the narrators stories and I felt he painted him in a bad light with the previous title (not story). He changed the title and its all good. Still a subscriber
I saw this guy ballin out in Florida for ballislife. He can still ball like hell. Speed, handles, shot, he has it all.

Makes you wonder how good a player could be if they were 5’6 and doing what Carr did then all of a sudden grew to 6’5.

I wish he had took that 750 ...coldest nickname of all time on any level
I remember in 10th grade I got to seee him play at a tournament that nigga is really the goat
They called him the crime stopper cause when he played no crime happened in Baltimore
Fr? That’s dope
@@iimstateii8319 That's a fact, granted it was the duration of a basketball game. None the less, really impressive
its always kids that are smaller than their opponents getting buckets, being in the spotlight. But, most fail to go to the nba for some reason.
For the same reason that makes us great, our height!
It's because he's too much of a defensive liability on height alone, these days no matter the offensive output if you aren't 6ft minimum you ain't gonna make it.
Couldn’t play defense that’s the main problem most of all time smaller players who ever played in the league for a long time decade plus all played solid defense last really good small player was earl boykins and TJ Ford
That's true grew up seeing that
@@joeyhager8818 thats untrue. Like literally😭😭
The beginning of the CZcams high school mixtape era right here
Crazy talent...still give a pro player buckets. NBA tossed around Nate Robinson and Earl Boykins a bit...you have to locked in to get looked at...IT was a 60th pick and no one saw him doing what he did in Boston, but they were quick to discard him too...
Super talent tho
Appreciate it fam
Sometimes young people just get sidetracked and lose FOCUS on what's really IMPORTANT,unfortunately it's LIFE....
He’s on ball is life now
That man be ballin tough 🏀
Damn i watched his hoop mixtapes at a kid, then saw him in the d league when I was I believe in 8th grade now I’m 20 lol crazy
thumbnail is negative...
Gets the clicks
Smaller hoopers have to constantly battle the stigma that height makes a basketball player. You have to be damn near perfect at your position to last. Look at IT. From all star to not on a team? It's like they only make basketball suitable for 6'2 and taller players.
Noti squad
"Probably"
East Baltimore has the most bodies of all time till this day
Bruh I’m form East Baltimore. U ain’t never lied
shoulda took them euros, s/o crime stopper tho them tapes was fire I was middle school
If you think of the 1 great season Isaiah Thomas had with Celtics couple yrs ago I think if this had got a chance early enough to he would've put up seasons like that maybe more than once and would've had some spirtscenter top plays in him. Shame why didnt he go to college after high school? But into D league draft
Nice video bro 👌
A hoopmixtape GOAT
Man remember this guy Carr..hate that didn't see this guy open the gates for guys under 5"7.. could of changed the NBA
When you that short you cant be in trouble or past up opportunities

Good job!
What a legend.
He a legend period
He deserves a huge growth spurt like the other nba players
J’ Smoove it’s too late for that because he’s 26
he started smoking early so it stunted his growth
Most exciting high school player with the greatest nickname ever
This is wat a manager is for he didn’t have no management n that’s shown clearly in this video
He's gonna play at an overseas combine in Miami September 28 and 29. I know because I'm going to it as well. Hope we're on the same team 😂
If you live in the dmv you still hear his name in the basketball community
Man when I thought him and Selby was gonna put Baltimore back on the Basketball map.
He has speed shooting iq good competition defense and hops, everything Julian Newman doesn’t 😐
Julian isn’t black either tho or athletic or 5’6
Preston Julian can’t even touch net That’s why
Proves that Julian has no chance of making it
Preston lmaoo it’s a fact but Carr was playing HS ball at 19 close to 20
@@retrotv1988 Julian taller than him
If he would have redshirted one season at seton hall and took that year to work on his maturity as well as his shoot and athletics. He would have came back with Isaiah whitehead playing and possibly went to the league
he would’ve been iconic in the and-1 league
I blame heightism in the nba.
He play in the TBL for the Reading Rebels.
It's sad that he's not staring on NBA
One word insane
This guy was clearly good enough to be in the nba.. how did he manage to fuck that up?!
I was following him I was wondering what happened to him damn that shit crazy
Bruh can you do a video on Tony Farmer if you haven’t already
Height is important, it can't be overlooked, a big reason why many offensively gifted players don't make it to the highest levels is because of their lack of defensive flexibility, if ur small you can't be used advantageously in switches, instead ur a negative mismatch. Not much use of having a break-even player who gives up the same amount he scores. Also with a lot of these smaller players like Aquille and Julian Newman their primary attribute is ball handling, which is not a valued role attribute like shooting, passing, rebounding, defending Etc especially at that height, Kyrie and Kemba can't be used as examples because they're stars, the one true ball handling role player Jamal Crawford isn't in the league anymore.
Just facts
@@afooool thank u💯
what? a ball handling role player is absolutely valued. lots of guys in the league because they can handle and command an offense and not turn the ball over. Derek fisher made a long career out of it. TJ Mcconnell is a perfect example rn
