does this speeds MLO was active at oneplus? im with BE98 and s24 ultra max i got is 2700/2900 Down
The larger size of the 7 is to accommodate the antennas that wifi 7 uses. Beautiful looking units. I'm waiting for a sale before I purchase.

For the eero's, you can find the specs on the eero site, you should see tech specs if your scroll down a bit, (eero.com/shop/eero-max-7), some portion of it on Amazon as well. As far as bufferbloat, I'm trying to reduce the length of my videos to provide only what is necessary. It's funny cause even now, I'm trying to figure out what else I can cut to make the video even shorter while still adding value. I also run these mesh systems and routers as my main setup since I have 80+ devices and if things drop or things slow down, I typically notice and do mention it in the video. This eero was great minus the fact that it couldn't get to 5Gbps up and down at least as of now. I appreciate the feedback either way. Thank you!
The one I’ve been waiting for, thanks! Did you use the 10GB port for the wired backhaul test? As it’s Eero it’ll take a few firmware updates to iron the bugs out and get max speeds on devices. I’ve read on Reddit one person who claims they used more powerful 65 watt power supplies and it boosted performance, I wouldn’t do it though!
Yes I used the 10Gbps port for wired backhaul. I have all the hardware to support up to 10Gbps.

Thanks, it’s only one SSID. I have no issues connecting my devices to this. The only issue was it not being able to reach my 5Gbps speeds which I’m assuming will be addressed in a firmware update
I’m looking at a new wifi 7 mesh and was initially going Orbi however this eero is cheaper - what system would you go for ??
lol not to add confusion but the Deco BE85 is also really good. You can’t go wrong with either one, whichever you pick it will be amazing.
Simple answer is all three are amazing. I was going to wait to get more WiFi 7 mesh systems to do a comparison video but I think I’ll compare all 3 that I have since I’m getting this question often. I’ll talk about the pros and cons of each in the video explaining what situation each is good for or at least try to but they’re all great.
Thank you for the video. Are those wifi 7 devices compatible with MLO (If yes which bands do you use for your test ?) or do you use the 6GHz band as for the wifi 6E devices ?
WFI7 contrary to the WIFI6E uses all the bands simultaneous, 2.4 , 5 and 6GHZ , giving priority to the band with less interference, thats why the wireless backhaul is better that WIFI6E that uses only the 6GHZ as backhaul.
My OnePlus 11 (WiFi 7) connects to all theee bands simultaneously, that’s the biggest difference with WiFi 7 and that’s what enables the crazy fast speeds. WiFi 6E just uses the 6Ghz band which is still very fast but not WiFi 7 fast. My Pixel 8’s and Pixel 8 Pro weren’t able to connect to more than one band from what I saw that’s why it couldn’t get those fast speeds even though they support WiFi 7

@lanpet when you configure these wifi 7 routers can you let the 2.4Ghz band alone (for the IOT) and configure the MLO for both 5Ghz and 6Ghz ?

@@fredericl.725 In more advance wifi systems like Unifi or Omada, you can do that, keep only 2.4 to one WIFI or only 5 to other, in this Home devices I guess that will varies from device to device, however, if your client device only uses 2.4 it will only connect to the 2.4 spectrum of the WIFI7 SSID created, there is no need for you to make that differentiation when you create the WIFI Network.
@@fredericl.725 Only wifi 7 phones (not even the Pixel 8 Pro) like the OnePlus 11 can connect to multiple frequencies at the same time. With the eero, you cannot separate out the SSIDs at least as of now. I don't think they will add this option since all the eero's before didn't have this option.
I understand these mesh system also has thread and zigbee radios? Does it acts as a thread border gateway and zigbee hub? Could you expand on these? To me, this is the biggest selling point when compared to orbi, as you can have better thread coverage on your smart home.
I don't use Zigbee or Thread as of now but from what I understand, yes this can act as the hub for those devices. Something eero devices have had for some time now. If this is important, I would definitely go with eero.
Hi landpet, I have 2 questions for this mesh system:
1-Can the Wifi frequencies be separated? I mean, can you create separate SSIDs for each frequency. 2.4, 5 and 6?
2-Can the Built-in IoT features (zigbee, thread and such) be disable?

Yes it would, that's really the main point of getting a wifi 7 mesh since there aren't many wifi 7 devices.
How do I connect to the wi if 7.. my tech was freaking clueless and fastest I was able to get just above 1 gig and I am suppose to get 5 gig .. I would have expected to get in the range of 3 gig. I am running Mac mini m2, and iPhone 15 pro max.
I Live outside of the USA and need to load my VPN directly onto the router. Does this have openvpn comparability or a way to do that? Also if so how much does it affect the speeds?

I think eero has it's own VPN if you get their subscription which I'm not sure if they offer in other countries. The thing with eero is that they make great routers but their interface is fairly limited. ASUS routers are usually the most friendly with doing things like that but I think you can setup VPN on TP-Link Deco WiFi 7 mesh systems as well like the BE85. I'm currently not running that but if it does support it, I would mention it in the Deco app portion of my Deco BE85 video.
I waiting for asus to release their WiFi 7 router line, but I don’t have any WiFi 7 device just one WiFi 6E so I think I’ll be good with my asus xt8 or upgrade to the pro xt12

Both amazing, I think Orbi overall is better off the top of my mind. I will be doing a comparison video between them and I’ll add the deco be85 as well. I’ll talk about the pros and cons of each in greater detail.

None of this WiFi 7 mesh routers have built in modem for coaxial. What modems support wifi 7 router max speeds?
If your current modem is getting the internet speeds you are paying for, these wifi 7 routers should be able to get the most out of that. Do keep in mind, I mentioned it in the video, I couldn't quite get the eero Max 7 to 5 Gbps at least as of now. I'm hoping a firmware update addresses the issue as it does have 10Gbps ports, so in theory it should be able to support up to 10Gbps internet speeds.
Really wish Ubiquiti can update their stuff with wifi 7 sooner.
Ubiquiti is something I haven’t tried yet, I have heard great things about them but they are typically late to the party maybe cause they want the technology to mature before they get there?
@@landpet That (wait for tech to mature) and they are more of an enterprise brand, so they make moves slower than others. Ubiquiti or emerging brands like Atlas has much more features and better stability than consumer brands, although Ubiquiti still gets criticized for having worse stability than some other enterprise network equipment makers (they all have ancient UI and only professionals knows how to tinker with the settings though). Ubiquiti’s UDR is probably the more consumer friendly one compare to its other combination of products as this one is a 3-in-1 unit, similar to what most consumers would consider as “router."

interesting that wifi 6e is better than wifi 7 at long distance (585 vs 430) for download and faster for uploads at 50ft (912 vs 848) which could be 'noise'. The 100ft is concerning that the range is 25% better for 6e vs 7...
It happens sometimes especially at a distance where the 6GHz is not available in most cases. So both 6e and 7 are relying on the 5GHz with the caveat that the 7 can also connect to the 2.4GHz to get a boost in speed but the 2.4GHz is usually pretty slow.
I just tested the Nighthawk RS700 (so obviously not a mesh) but the range on that thing was absurdly good, however it has issues as of now with Guest SSID.

I have Eero Max 7 3 pack and my results are completely opposite of yours, I also have OnePlus Open with wifi 7 and it is the slowest when compared to any other device, a lot slower. Based on my searching around and reading reviews, most share the same experience, so it makes me wonder if your review is so that people use your link to buy it. My setup is the ultimate place for me to get blazing fast speeds based on only such positive reviews on CZcams, but I see only the opposite which is not different from others.
If you have issues getting to similar speeds over local speed tests, I would suggest updating the firmware on the eero and restarting ALL the eero units you have. Also just for kicks, click forget network on your OnePlus 11 for your SSID and rejoin the network to try again. Restart your OnePlus 11 as well.
When I first set this thing up, I was unable to get the speeds I was getting with my OnePlus 11, I even called eero for support but no one I spoke to knew what MLO even was. Honestly, I just wanted to see what their support was like. MLO is too new for most people to know. My main question was, do I need to enable MLO (Multi Link Operation) and if so I didn't see an option.
I quickly realized eero support wasn't able to help. Anyways I got back to what I know pretty much works most of the time. Which is to basically update firmware (which I had done already), restart everything and click forget network on the wifi device and reconnect. I even restarted my OnePlus 11 and woala, crazy fast speeds are here.
I don't know if you saw the portion where I did a test with my OnePlus 11 but it's ridiculously fast.

@@landpet Wifi 7 is new that its buggy . Oneplus 6ghz wont connect on some routers. My Isp router the one plus wont connect on 6ghz and on Netgear Nighthawk Wifi 7 Router as well one plus 6ghz wont connect. Google 8 Pro will connect on all router but speed will be 1.5 gbps max download.

That’s the same as Orbi and TP Link, both expensive with the Orbi costing more and both have subscriptions too.
True but TP Link has the most features without subscription, it actually has fairly good parental controls included. Subscription makes it better though.
