So apparently Laios cut his hair because Falin told him with the longer hair if he were to grow a beard he would resemble their father. So the fact that he immediately cut his hair after she made that observation, it’s very telling on how poor his relationship is with his father.

It's made even funnier by the fact that Falin said that intentionally, because Laios was getting too unkempt.
The manga is the kind of work that you can easily feel like re-reading over and over again, so it's a good call to read it after the anime ends in my opinion!

Been an absolute delight to watch the show alongside you, Nerdy! I love anime-onlys reaction to the "Let's Eat Falin" goal reveal; I distinctly remember getting to this point in my first read through and feeling the same way. Here's hoping that season 2 comes some time early next year.
Bacon and Eggs (the second half of the episode) was perfect for a season finale. Everyone's backstories are seemingly settled, side characters are on the verge of something interesting (Kabru, Namari, Shuro and the elves), and for the first time after Falin's resurrection, the gang finally has a clear 3-step goal to strive for, built up to through the last few episodes (eggs discussion, Izutsumi's body, Faligon's massacre, Golden Country and the Winged Lion). It brings back the elves and Kabru & co's situation, it shows what Thistle and Faligon might be up to, and let's emotions take over, reinvigorating the characters' and viewers' dedication to saving Falin anew.
Also, finally through the slog that is the early chapters of setting up. Now we can actually get to the good stuff latter half. I mean the first half is amazing, but still yet to peak.
They announced season 2 is in production! I'm really looking forward to it.
assuming no break in the production schedule, I'm placing my expectation at around 1 years time before season 2 begins. Would be lovely if it resumes in 6 months but I'm not too picky.
Fun fact, the flowers Falin presents to Marcille are used to represent romantic womon x woman love, or Yuri, in Japanese culture. So its a subtle way for them to confirm that Falin also loved Marcille without actually saying it.
If you want recommendations there are 2 options:
1) "The Apothecary Diary": a series about palace mysteries with fantastic character writings
2) "Shangri-la Frontier": pure action fun about cheesing in an MMO. Not as well crafted but is tonally consistent

I still prefer the first song. Less funky, more bumpy.
And you can't tell me this finale was not epic. Figuring out that the solution of their problem is to eat the lower 4/5 (not quite half) of your sister is every bit as epic as an attack on titan battle.
The American dub of this show is certainly doing a great job, with some great dub actors, but the JP version is a whole other mood, much more manic (especially with Marcille).
Also, fun facts : The statues the Gargoyles transformed into were actual sculptures you can see in Europe (the face of thruth in Roma, Italy, that supposedly eats your hand when you put it in it and lie, and Manneken Pis in Brussels, Belgium, supposedly a child who saved a town by pissing on bombs that were threatening to blow the city). I haven't read the manga, but if she's the one who came up with that joke, she's been doing some good tourism in Europe.

@warrust its not part of the manga, the author made books filled with details and trivials that never made into the main storyline, and this is one of them
