When I was reading the manga the reveal that Chilchuck has several kids and an estranged wife was the most surprising unsurprising reveal ever.
Some bonus material states that Izutsumi prefers to sleep in the same bed as someone else for warmth, and that of all the party members Chillchuck is her favourite (because he's small).

Some people can loose their sense of taste, this is often due to neuron disease or damage but you can also loose it in old age, you can even loose it by eating only bland food or tasteless paste for long periods of time, a varied diet means a varied taste pallet.
Does you think this might add insight into the Mad Mages' {Thistles'} motives? I mean as a long lived elf raised alongside humans you view almost like family and seeing them age and die?
There's also the issue of maturity. Thistle saw Derghal's birth, and he saw him grow into a middle aged man while moving much slower than him.
Not just being alive longer, but also developping much much slower than him, without other elves as a reference both for him and the tallmen around him.
Maybe that's the reason why Elves are rarely found apart from the West.
They are afraid and avoid making relationship with short-lived races.

I think it would still be 24 episodes, because MyAnimeList only wrote it 24.
@@GabrielFreezers I wrote that when Nerdy wondered how many episodes we are getting. I have also heard 24 episodes in this season, that or 'two cours', which could be 24-26. But yeah I will be surprised if we get more than 24, since every source that gives a number seems to agree.
Super excited for the next episodes, they are some of the most emotional in the manga for me. Great reaction as ever, cheers!

Skyfish is reminiscent of a creature from the Xanth books called a wiggle. They were flying worms that could coil up and shoot off with deadly force, and were essentially a living swarm of bullets. They're also reminiscent of a cryptid called a Rod, which was later revealed to be a trick of the light over a series of photos of flying insects at night, but said photos looked very similar to skyfish here.
"Thistle" is a name that I can only ever associate with Red Rising, lol
Laios stroking the familiar was not something I noticed until you pointed it out. There's already enough nsfw material of Laios, I dont think they're starved for ideas.
I love the reveal wirh Chilchuck and how he does it to get Senshi to oprn up. He has SUCH divorced deadbeat dad energy. I like him and Senshi as the older men of the group.
Actually, Chilchuk was the oldest in the party based on their race.
