Wordplay is the best thing that’s ever been invented.
The previous duel the Pharaoh lost because he was forced to play an actual card game, this time he managed to trick Raphael into his family talk, ensuring the win.
He threw Yami because he knew they wouldnt reach the top together, they would have both fallen, and he didnt jump with yami because he was injured or tired from the duel since the holograms seem to have a physical presence whenever they have a duel with some magic going on, so he felt every attack that the monsters delivered to his life points.

Fun fact, in the uncensored version, Rafael didn't dig up a random duel disk. He dug up his *family's skeletons.* Or at least their skulls. Basically it was his confirmation that yes, they did die, and Dartz then basically emotionally manipulated Rafael from there to have Rafael work under him.
Kinda fun fact, Martin wrote the GY thing into the script after doing a christmas series where he opened a yugioh booster pack every day in december to make a deck with a card from each booster, noticed the abbreviation thing and thought it was funny
Always gotta tune in for the YGOTAS reactions. Fun and sad fact: In the original, Dartz forces Raphael to dig up the skulls of his dead siblings, rather than a duel disk.
When Tea said the real orichalchos was the friends we made along the way, it cut to an ad that started "it just doesn't make sense".
In the graveyard, Dartz actually made Raphael dig up his family's skeletons, not a duel disk.
At least in the original japanese version. I cant believe they censored this in the dumbest way possible.

To be fair, in the original Dartz tosses the duel disk in the graveyard for Raphael to get.

Right? People really need to stop talking about how Kaiba touched Joey. It was one time, get over it!
Passions were high, Joey was in a real slump...
And in this Episode Yami became a Therapist.

this was the episode I last left off on before forgetting about this series for a while...glad kuriboh is still going strong
It's still hilarious to me that everyone who ever activated the seal of orichalcos on screen lost the duel afterwards.

Just caught up with these reactions. Amazing. Watched this abridged series since 2006 and it's still making me laugh to this day. "By the knobbly knees of Rameses" almost destroyed me 😆 Can't wait for the next one. Much love from northern England 😄

It almost took me a sec, but after she replayed the scene a couple times, I could understand the shorthand reference from the cards. It's been yrs since I've touched a duel monsters card yet I still understood.

12:18 It isn't divergent. Whether in the original or abridge, the antagonists don't have any to lose or a need prove anything to the protagonists by being hypocritical. Many do that because they deluded themselves to believe there wouldn't be any consequences.
You should consider uploading 79 to Patreon to avoid CZcams and creating exclusive content. Also the S was sacrifice, KBs Kuribohs, GY Graveyard, TS Tribute Summon, F Field

Yami is actually a good person in the original anime and he actually developed a great relationship with Yugi and his friends
And personally yami and Yugi both are great anime hero
I never got into the new metagame for this, but i still love the classic style. I think GX is as far as I go when rewatching the anime and playing games. I used to love using a deck that caused opponent to deck out or Exodia them.

1. Yugi makes a good point on the last battle with Rafael (on when Yugi sacrifices his monster) he's a horrible person but when Rafael does it, it's all okay. Friggin season 4
2. When in doubt melon you should play magical pigeons. It's a risky move, but it's worth it considering that no one knows what pot of greed does.
3. Finally melon could you please stop telling people how seto touched Joey? It was one time.
