Ford 5R110W pump issues and repair

In the latest video from the Transtar Garage Studio, Dave Hritsko, Transtar’s technical parts specialist, talks about the Ford 5R110W pump.
This pump, Hritsko says, may have been surpassed by newer equipment, but there are still a lot of trucks out there with it. The pairing of this pump with the engine, Hritsko says in the video, is a happy marriage “until a divorce happens.” What does that mean? “When a transmission gets burned up or has an issue and you have to remove it from the engine.”
So what are the issues that arise with this pump, and what can you do to resolve these issues? The video above has your answers.

So with the pump being very thirsty, did they change it for the more restrictive 08 job 2 filter?
Seems that filter, and needed pan are a popular switch, but nobody talks about the pump.

2005 Ford F-350 6.0 5R110w one day truck started jumping into gear then started wanting to die out. Made it back home next time I started the engine to see what would happen I put it into gear (let me note there were no codes present) it does out almost instantly. So I crawl under the truck notice line to filter leaking. Got it patched up re topped off the trans fluid was 4 qt's low next I drive it drives and shifts nice but notice something around 40-50mph 5th to 6th tow-haul starts flashing. Took it to get code read shop said they were 3 weeks out but they could at least read code after reading P1744 they all of a sudden say it needs a whole new transmission and they can start working on it in two days. So I felt something was up there. Today 2/3/2022 I'm going to go drain and drop the pan to replace the Tcc solenoid. Am I chasing a wild horse? Any help is much appreciated thank you

this transmission caused me much misery. light turned green, stepped on the gas gently as I always do in my E350. just after shifting into third, without warning a bang was heard. no more power to the wheels, stuck at 12:30am in one of those places people shouldn't go. dead tranny. $200 tow. It's still at some shop going on two weeks, cost plenty of $$$ for an entire junk yard replacement.. Go Ford woo woo

After driving my truck around for like within a hour, I get hard shifts when going into reverse and drive shift. Is my pump going out?
