Bwa na na na naaaa na na. Bwa na na NAAAA na na!
Where's Magneto? 🤣
I think the point is that Ygritte is known as such a good shot that she could have killed John if she wanted too. The fact that she shot him 3 times and missed vitals means she wasn't trying to kill him, she was trying to hurt him for the hurt he made her feel. John knows she wont kill him and that's why he is unfazed and she is upset at John but also at herself for being so weak/human that she can't even kill him
Exactly!!!! Thank you!!!
She didn't shoot to kill.
People saying this fail to understand how unrealistic this is. People can die from arrows way easier than one would think. Vitals are literally everywhere in our body. A random arrow no matter where it is aimed can still hit a main artery anywhere in the body which can lead to severe bleeding and a quick death. Its a risk nobody would ever take unless they wanted to kill. This happens fast too, you don't really have the luxury of having time if this happens you have to be immediately treated. It truly does not matter where you aim or what your skills with the bow even are. You have no idea how deadly and dangerous even a single arrow can be for the human body. Its a tv show after all, let's not pretend that this particular bit is believable though. Its miles away from believable and I say this even though I love this show.
@@kobarsos82 she could have made sure that he died tho its probably still the point that the shoemakers were trying to get across even though you are right
@@kobarsos82 I mean, we learned from Drogo that a little cut can get infected and be deadly...
I love the opening of this episode after the Red Wedding. It's like, "Well, at least that's over with...OMG IS THAT THE WOLF'S HEAD!"
Real😭
I love that the Hound isn't even mad Arya merc'd a bunch of dudes, just that she didn't warn him first.
The idea that Robb started the war is just idiotic. They imprisoned his father then summoned him to Kingslanding to bend the knee. And everyone knew even if he did that he wouldn't be allowed to simply leave. He was forced to go to war for the honor of his house and the honor of the North.
The Lannisters started the war. They stole the throne by proclaiming Joffrey when they knew he's a bastard. Also remember Cersei was the one who made sure Robert died with his wine.
Joffrey started the war by killing Ned, there was no way the north would simply accept the death of their liege lord. Robb had no other choice than go to war, he didnt even want to be King but was proclaimed one by his people. To put it on him is so unfair
Cat started it by capturing Tyrion. And really, somebody else ACTUALLY started it, but thats a season 4 spoiler.
@@nathanpapp432How would Cat not capturing Tyrion save Neds life and therefore prevent the war?
@@TheEnecca It certainly didnt help anything. And you could argue that Ned started the war by confronting Cersei. That was a TERRIBLE idea on his part. Ned was too naive.
Joffrey started the war when he took off Ned's head. They had brokered a deal and he threw it away to play to a baying mob.
This season was so critical to increase the viewership of GoT. So many people had their friends watch it with them, get the hooks in with Ned's death, and then get them black holed into the series and subscribed to HBO after Red Wedding. Cannot be understated how much of a cultural touchstone this was when it aired.
It's so good to see people highlighting that aspect of the experience for us OGs! The _story_ was put to page ages ago, but seeing so much of it captured by the show and shared with so many people socially really was a great touchstone for popular culture around the world.
“Black holed into the series” epic description my man❤
3:27 This scene stands out as the most haunting across all seasons. There's something deeply unsettling about the act of attaching the head of a dead animal onto body of dead person..
Even the fan art disturbs me 😢
All hail Greyrobb, King of the north!!
That right there IS the deeply unsettling thing💀🙏🏼
I kinda forgot that it was in this episode I was expecting it in the last one.
I think the main reason for that feeling is Robb was a good person. Killing him in cold blood was bad enough but to desecrate his remains, and to then throw his mother in the river naked as a cruel mockery of the Tully funeral rites? The Freys all deserved what came to them.
Episodes like this is where characters like Ser Davos, Sam, or Varys shines. Sometimes we just need secondary characters doing the right thing to remind us all is not lost, yet.
For me it was never about how disturbing the red wedding itself was. Tywin says it best. "Explain to me why it is more noble to kill a thousand men in battle then a dozen at dinner", its about the violation of the corpses. Sewing his direwolves head onto his body and parading him out of the castle, and even worse to have his youngest sister be the one who sees him, and in the books Catelyns family funeral rites are mocked as well the Tullys are commonly burnt on the river, and Catelyn was stripped naked and had her body tossed into the Green Fork to rot.
And they killed the thousend men in Robbs Army too.
And then the Brotherhood found her and did her so much worse than what the Freys could ever do in my opinion. Lady Stoneheart is nothing more than an empty shell of what Catelyn Stark used to be. A being a vengeance wandering around cursed until those who wronged her family are taken care of. It's disgusting that they brought her back. And because the Freys had cut so deep into her neck, she can't even speak. And because of how long she was in the river her body is a decaying mess. It's heart sickening.
@@TheRibottoStudios damn, that's the first time I'm hearing this
@TheRibottoStudios yeah beric dondareon really shouldn't have revived her. What came back was no longer Catelyn. Not to mention she'd been dead for a while now already
@@iwhdbdjrgfh9880bruh READ THE BOOKS. They're so good filled with so much lore the show just LEAVES out entirely.
Fun fact about Melisandre and Ser Davos: in the books, Davos has 7 sons, not 1. 4 oldest die at Blackwater, 2 youngest stayed with their mother in their house. The fifth son is King Stannis' squire, but after the deaths of 4 older ones, Melisandre convinces the king to leave the boy to attend her rather than fight by his side, as an act of kindness towards Davos, so he wouldn't lose another son.
"Snow" is a generalized name for a b*strd from a certain region. (The north) There is also "flowers" and "rivers" I think
Yep! For all the regions the names are: Flowers for the Reach, Rivers for the Riverlands, Storm for the Stormlands, Hill for the Westerlands, Sand for Dorne, Stone for the Vale, Pyke for the Iron Islands, Waters for the Crownlands, and Snow for the North.
Yea the other guys should tell them lol
@@ghostbunk Stormlands bastards kinda lit tho 🤔
@@ghostbunk it's a shame that they don't mention this in the shows, but in the books they mention that Blackfyre is the name for Targaryen bstrds... I may be misremembering that tho. I admit, I could be totally wrong on that.
Correction: "Daemon Blackfyre, born Daemon Waters, was a bastard son of King Aegon IV Targaryen and Princess Daena Targaryen. Legitimized by his father upon the latter's death, Daemon took the name "Blackfyre" for himself, after the ancestral Valyrian steel sword of House Targaryen, which his father also bequeathed to him."
You guys seem to be forgetting that if Ygritte lets Jon go he will tell the nights watch the wildlings army’s plan. If she didn’t try stop him at all thousands of her people are at risk.
yeah their take is crazy like "oh she shouldnt have shot jon" like so much is going through her head ("I dont wanna kill him", "hes gonna tell the watch our plans", "why", etc.) and then she couldnt even kill him anyways, people dont act perfectly all the time and she wont just instantly betray the 100's of thousands of her people when shes spent their entire life with them even if she tries to pretend she doesnt care bout em
big spoiler:
which we also know backfires since jon is literally the main reason they didnt get through the gate
Do you think she was really thinking about the Wildlings? Felt more like revenge and she had a broken heart.

This is one of those shows where you're like "what's the point in watching anymore if my favorite characters are dead". But it's okay they get replaced with new favorite characters
For whatever reason they omitted it in the show, but in the books, before he died Robb wrote a will naming Jon his rightful heir.
Loving the depressed arc of our boys! 😂 its so understandable but also hilarious since we all were there too. We know how it feels!
If she wanted to kill john she would ,she only wanted to hurt him cuz he hurt her ,she easily could aim for his head or heart
Jon is lucky Ygritte still loved him. She let him ride away with a few nonfatal wounds. Just like in the nights watch, he was supposed to be killed for his betrayal.
Before sacking the city tywin didn't declare his intentions in the war and waited literally the last monent to join. That's why Joffrey says "...while you were hiding under casterly rock". Was kind of a sick diss actually
And, if I remember correctly, Maester Pycelle convinced King Aerys to open the gates for Tywin. Aerys believed him to be an "ally."
She definitely wasn’t trying to to kill him
I can't wait till season 4, definitely my favourite
4 is the goat
Definitely agree with carter. It makes sense to her character 100%.
That Red Wedding reupload really made us be another episode behind😭
"And right now, kings are dying like flies." I love that line. 😁
A bit of a slower episode after that bloodbath, looking forward to more reactions, y'all are great!
Ygritte made sure not to touch his vital points when she shot those arrows. She loves her silly crow. And she made sure he doesn't forget about her by imprint this pain in him.
this daenerys scene gives me chills!! queen 👸
Consider that Ygritte could have killed him, but chose not to. She showed she understood what he was doing, even though it hurt her heart. Shooting home would help make his return more believable, and help her vent - but she didn't kill him. When Jon first ran, he bumped Ygritte to prevent her from killing one of her own and be outcast - he knew he had to go, couldn't take her, but didn't want her to be guilty through her association with him. She returned the favour when she shot him.
Next episode is gonna be a blast lol

-Roose Bolton, 2 seasons ago
Roose bolten wasn't in season 1. Pretty sure it was the Great Jon Umber. Or Glover
@@rudyhernandez7128 it was Roose in the beginning of season 2
@@AzkuulaKtaktu just looked it up. It was season 1 episode 9... 6 minutes and 31 seconds into the episode. Lord Umber said it.
Plus, walder frey wasn't in season 2, so why would Roose talk about him? The only time they mentioned Walder frey in season 2 was when Cat warning Robb.
That heated debate on Ygritte shooting Jon was absolutely crazy. It wasn't even that much of a significant thing.
I agree with Carter and Mckay. It was completely understandable. He completely betrayed her, her principles and her people. She could've killed Jon then and there. Only her feelings for Jon had stopped her from mortally wounding him.
It's a traditIon in many European countries to welcome guests to your home with salt and bread, signifying protection of the host for the night. It was considered a most heinous crime to break this trust. Even when enemies would come to negotiate in a home or even a tent, bread and salt would seal safety for the night of all guests. When Rob arrived at the Frey's, the first scene showed them sharing salt and bread provided by Frey. Even the Gods would turn on him.
I love whenever they say the word rat. Its like an inside joke they add extra emphasis too :D
Season 4 is PEAK Thrones. Can’t wait for you guys to watch episode 2 👀
Ygritte did say she would kill him if he betrayed her. She's staying true to her words.😂
She didn’t tho. She purposely hit not vital spots, she could’ve killed him in one shot.
@@Mattis06 What I meant was Jon should have expected something like that to happen after she told him she'd kill him if he betrayes her
The main reason to be mad at Walder Frey is the way that he did what he did. When you invite someone into your home and break bread with them they are protected by guest rights. It goes into this more in the book but it was the scene where they were dipping bread jnto salt. Totally agree with the Rob comments though. His decisions lead to this sadly
She warned his ass. Do not betray me. He did. He had it coming. Woman scorned and all that
More like she THREATEN HIM. She was a psycho.

One of the reasons I feel like Histories and lore is so necessary, it really establishes more context to why Bolton betrays rob. Hell it gives more context on everything.
I find it funny that most are upset at Ygritte for shooting Jon when they always point out the rats and want them to die. Jon is a Rat in this situation and your not expecting Ygritte to shoot Jon.
This was a nice breather after the horror that was the Rains of Castamere. That shot of Daenerys with the freed slaves never fails to amaze me.
Some of the cinematography in this show is outright gorgeous. And GOD Ramin Djawadi absolutely crushed this score.
It's a nice breather only if care about Dany. lol Her story at this point was of a no interest to me. So I was like I don't care, the Starks are still dead.
Ygritte is known to have a great shot, she shot him exactly where it wouldn't kill, only hurt
Regarding your last topic about who started the war... I would say 2 separate people officially declared it for different reasons. Robb Stark (once he heard Ned was captured), and Stannis (once he received the letter from Ned stating Joffrey was a bastard), and then everyone else started jumping in.
Ygritte didn't just shoot Jon for leaving her. It was more than that. He betrayed both her and the rest of the wildlings. Every single one of the others would have killed him for that, if they'd gotten the chance. She was willing to forgive him for that part as long as he was true to her personally, but when he also betrayed her - that was it.
Season 4 is just the best omfg, you’re finally HEREEE… this next season is just AMAZING scene after AMAZING scene, over and over… it’s genuinely cathartic. I can’t waittt for your reactions!

Ygritte could have killed John and she chose not to. She was hella hurt and she wanted to cause him pain like he caused her not to kill him tho. I thought it was very in character for her to do that
She didn't want to killed him because she was known as a great shooter and she failed on propose bcs she loved him
The Tell Tale game starts right at the beginning of this episode
We need to start a bingo of scenes Jack forgot.

Y me encanta ver cómo consiguen llegan a conclusiones profundas sobre cómo empezó la guerra.
Lying to someone about ur intentions and who you are is not love … he had his own agenda all along and he used her .. yes he kinda fell in love but if he really fell in love with her he wouldn’t have ran away he would of embraced the way she was … but yea she wasn’t trying to kill him he’s a great shot she would of killed him with one arrow
Ygritte couldve killed Jon, but she didn't she shot Jon 3 times to hurt him bc she's hurting. And shooting him with arrows is the only thing I guess her character know how to do. There's also a scene where she said to Jon "I will kill you if you ever leave." But she didn't kill him, bc she love him, but she's hurting. Hurt people hurt people y'know
Finally!! You guys are on Season 4 Best season ever!!! Let’s Gooooo
If ygritte wanted to kill jon she would've done it. She was conflicted because she was torn between her love for jon and her people, so she shot him 3 times on non vital parts that he'll walk off by next season 😬
And so my rowing begins....😂😂😂
You guys 35:56 are missing the fact that she knows that Jon is going to now tell the night’s watch that the wildlings are coming 😂 he knows all about the wildlings now, she isn’t supposed to let him go because now it puts all her people in more danger
Can’t wait for next season!!!!
Parading the wolf's head on Rob's body is the most deeply unsettling imagery. I think it does something to the human brain.
Edit: Arya doing her thing fixes it, lol.

"I think what started the war was Jamie and Cersei having kids" 🤣🤣🤣
8.05 gave me chills how i remember the story telling of Bran and I thought of Arya and what she did to the freys😌
Ygritte is one of the best archers of this universe. She didn't shot Jon, she hurts him for him to suffer a little, compared to what he makes her suffer. (Sorry for my english)
Last episode you guys talked about the books and how Catelyn is brought back by the red priest as lady stone heart
Also notable is that Robbs wife never went to the wedding. She is still alive. Last seen either with the Blackfish or Jamie escorted her back home. No one is sure
In the books, the freys gave Robb 4,000 men and fully committed to his cause. He did undermine them and all 4,000 went home when he got married. Then he lost the karstarks. The only thing that may have kept his war alive is if he still had Jaime and cat messed that up too. Then he may be alive a little longer. If he still had Jaime and lost the freys, he could’ve at least marched home and rooted out the ironborn from the north and just kept Jaime in winterfell. Then who knows what could’ve happened. Sansa could’ve escaped and then the lannisters would have no bargaining chips. It would’ve been an interesting situation.

Mass murder and breaking on of the sacred rules of society just because you feel wronged seems a bit extreme. So i dont know about the "Dont blame Walder Frey" stuff 😄
This is The real Daenerys targaryen, never forget that.
tHeRE weRe aLWaYs sIGns
Carter acted like you are in the wrong because you are in the wrong 😂
I agree with Carter on the Ygritte matter, she has a very black and white view of the world, her entire livelihood literally depends on every single action she and everyone around her makes at every turn, all acts of betrayal, disloyalty and cowardice are met with the most efficient and fullproof way of never posing a threat or creating unnecessary danger to the survival of the group which is death, quick, cold and easy. Jon is mess, he been a mess, that's kinda his whole deal smh.
I stopped watching for two seasons after the Red Wedding so totally understand the trauma of the wedding and Robb’s wolf head. It’s a rough one. Weddings in the GoT-verse are always rough. Glad it held true in HotD lol
But also living for the emotionally-fueled post-episode about discussion Ygritte. Classic GoT effect.
"actually what really started a war was cersei and jaime having kids" we can go like this forever and always find who to blame🤣 Like i can say that if aerys targaryen didn't fight tywin and let cersei marry rhaegar maybe she would have been happy and then there would be no reason to have kids with jaime , because she really liked rhaegar and was dreaming about their wedding
If keep throwing Pedro to answer every question, eventually some would land. 😂
I'm sure Cersei has either always been spiteful, or she's always had strong reasons to be spiteful. Perhaps the only people in her young life who weren't cruel were her mother and Jamie. Or she was born to be a *****
Nevertheless:
After her mother's death, she was “promised” to a handsome Targaryen youth who would inherit the throne. But that did not happen. Before she was told at, still, a very young age that she was now to marry Robert Baratheon (who loathed her), a witch told Cersei how her life would turn out and how she would die. It was an accurate and grim and sinister prediction.
At some point, Cercei realized that all the witch's scary words WERE COMING TRUE in detail, one after the other. And that she was now trapped in this prophecy, for the rest of her life, unable to escape it, unable to attain happiness except, for a very short time, by loving her children; that she could only gain security and ease and power in those fleeting moments when the pages of her pre-ordained, unalterable, sad prophecy were busy turning to the next bleak chapter. So, I gather, she decided to accept that this was the case, and that she would fight mercilessly for the little space of choice available to her. So, everything but this space and her children, she hates and despises and objectifies... since, to her, there is nothing else. Such is Martin's tale of Cersei.
I have seen a lot of people react to the red wedding... guys, you are sunk, cheer up, there are still many horrible things to see and some wonderful ones 😂 season four is wonderful!
troy bolton😂😂
Lets goooo guys
Walder Frey hasn't done anything to earn their respect, in he didn't the opposite of that. But Cat warned Robb that he was a dangerous man to cross, and she was right.😊
All the years of watching reactions, and I still find myself surprised how upset people are about Jon and Ygritte. I guess it's the difference between reading the books first vs. watching the show. Reading first, we see their relationship from Jon's POV, and we know he was always planning to do whatever it took to get back to the Watch...even though he grew to care for Ygritte...
Bolton saw that Robb was going to lose and made a smart decision for himself and his house.
Bolton had been looking for ways to make a play for the North for a while. I'm re-reading book 5 right now, and Jon tells Stannis to watch out for Roose, that Ned never trusted him.
@@jcompton8507 Im not saying he should have been trusted, he was a snake. But Robb was going to lose anyway, because of his own decisions.
If she wanted to kill him she would have gone for the horse bruh.
0:07 Does Cannon think Walder Frey deserves respect? What about him warranted respecting? It’s not good that Robb broke his promise by marrying someone else, but Frey broke his promise by massacring everyone, starting with butchering an unborn child. The comments had me worried that this episode went by without critical thought, but holy smokes.
0:56 Wth Carter?? Frey took advantage of the conflict to serve himself at the Starks’ expense! In what way is this all Robb’s fault? I have never seen anyone sympathize with Walder Frey after the Red Wedding, and I certainly wasn’t expecting you guys of all people to be the first.
Here’s hoping it’s due to mental and emotional exhaustion from just finishing the previous episode. Sounds like the sight of Robb with his wolf’s head might have changed their feelings about Frey.
Interesting thoughts and predictions so far. I look forward to the next episode, to see if anything has changed after sitting for a bit, as well as looking forward.
I don't know why You Tube always recommend this reaction late on my TV. I basically just got it.
Anyway, yea around that time it wasn't a picnic. I always was of two minds about the Red Wedding. In one hand it was heart breaking and the most brutal thing I had ever seen on TV. On the other hand, it was also the most incredible viseral stuff I had ever seen then and I have seen since. I always wondered who planned it. Is it Walder Frey that sent a letter to Tywin saying:"bro, the whole Stark clan are gonna be at my house for wedding celebration. If you want me to kill them, then give me some stuff in returns". Then maybe Tywin sent a letter to Bolton saying:"alright if you're in on this too, we'll make you Warden of the North".
The thing is, Joffrey wasn't so wrong about Tywin regarding the Robert's rebellion..
Please watch the Game of thrones musical thing they did, loved to see your reaction to the walder frey song hahah
Cersei is so well written and so well acted.
