As far as I know about the novel, the 2001 film is closest to that. The planet blowing up at the end of 2 was a thing done to appease Charlton Heston as he didn't wanna do more Apes films. There is so much of the OG films in the new ones that in fact you could argue it’s a soft reboot and I would argue that it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the original films events unfold in one of the new series instalments (obviously the new one has many planet of the apes 2 elements).
Actually there is 5. The next one is battle of the planet of the apes where the ape society treats humans as domestic servants, and there is a faction of humans who want to fight the apes. It is the worse one in the franchise.

I love old movie plots like bro no movies nowadays have a plot about astronauts crashing on a planet with smart apes but its future earth after nukes and has time travel and psychic mutants
Simple correction, The 2011 Remake is a prequel to the originals. The remake is basically telling how the Apes became intelligent and the dominant species.
Yo bro you should start explaining the history of series. Would love to actually know the full storyline and how it goes down and would like other series known that you know.
I like to think that the new ape movies are actually a prequel to the original movies, i mean when you watch rise, you’ll see a lot of Easter eggs that are gonna be referenced in the old movies.
This probably doesn’t explain everything but I just look at Caesar as one of those character that constantly reincarnates to serve the same purpose 🤷♂️
Yeah, that time travel explanation is a well deserved, wtf!
That’s why everyone needs to watch the 60s planet of the apes my father showed me them as a young boy and it’s way better than the reboots story wise.

Even caught me off guard like bruh
"There are time lines to the monkey movies?!"
Ok calm down there Freeza
420😮
It’s okay he’s black now he can say it now without being cancelled
Yeah hearing someone explain the time travel part is a definite deserved WTF
Caesar's parents were nice, so sad they died.
Cornelius was always my favorite Ape.
I have a feeling that we'll get the reboot version of them soon

Not the music from the Curious George movie 😂😂
LOL I was wondering what that was
I didn't even notice it until I saw the comment.
Cornelius as Caesar's son in the reboot trilogy is weird now that i know he's his father in the old movies
What if he just ends up naming his son Caesar after his father 🤔
@@itzshadow8 What if there were twins, Julius, and Caesar...
They got stabbed in the back by rebel apes
But in the old movies (Battle for the planet of the apes) Cesar also names his son Cornelius. I think it was in honor of his father (Cesar's father)
@@johantrevinoalvarado7437 Oh, I didn't watch the old movies

New timeline is a lot easier to understand 😂
Yeah that first timeline was wacky asf
So that means Ceaser is a living bootstrap paradox…
Move violent "WHAT THE FUCK?!" I've ever heard him say
My headcannon was the reboot movies led into the originals and then the time travel stuff made a time loop
How do you get underground nuclear mutants in the reboot timeline
@jeffmoo9235 by plot hole or by small scale nuclear war we don't really know what happened between the Caesar trilogy and the new movie
@jeffmoo9235 mutants made a small appearance in one of the ape movies but it's the one where they have to assault that base in Siberia or whatever
Honestly that wtf was exactly my reaction when my dad explained this to me xD
And it might be going to be the same thing all over again when the 4th planet of the Apes remake movie releases
I thought the twist would be the Mark Whalburg movie. I was pleasantly surprised.
Was that written by the same guy who write the plot of kingdom hearts? Sounds like something he would do
The best WTF ever.😂

I fuckin love this franchise.
The original series plus the show went so hard I watched all of it on repeat as a kid, very grateful my dad archived all his favorite media on his PC
This format is magical and I apologize to your voice for it's service.
Thank you for talking about Conquest
Never before have I agreed so much with the guy at the end of these. I knew the original planet of the apes was insanely different. But I didn't think it would be just insane!
To be fair, the first one is pretty simple. It’s the sequels that progressively complicated things.
Idk I think they're pretty good

Perfect song i love this song
Wtf 😂 I was thinking the same
I was not expecting the Ape movie to have a time travel plot line.
After that explanation I see why the time line got rebooted. Still going to watch the originals though.
It got rebooted because just wanted an old franchise people would nostalgic about back in the 90s
@@Nzosaba_MatengeBut at least the reboots are good movies… The ratings are high all around.. So, the reboots are justified…
Congrats, u melted my brain

They really struck gold with the reboot
When they traveled back in time it created a new timeline, based on Bruce Banner theory
Are we gonna ignore that sweet berzerk bomber jacket you got on?!? Griffith would be so jealous of that jacket....lol
Love your video man.
Hearin upside down in the background, it hits different
I've known about planet of the apes for at least 10 years now and you now telling me there's time travel involved my mind was just blown
I choose to think of those old ass movies as completely separate from the newer trilogy because like what the fuck is that people and monkey masks?😭
It was the 60s when they made the original and 70s when they made the sequels obviously they would look like that
I prefer those masks than the horrible CGI they used in the new trilogy, it looks so fake and intangible, it looks like a video game image.

The first two movies are really good, in my opinion. I haven't sat through the entire 3rd movie yet, but so far, I don't like it as much.
I love his WTF so much it always makes me laugh man
The old lore is so easy to understand like jujutsu kaisen manga fights

The original five movies are so wild
#JusticeForCornealius
"Splain" 😂 I'ma use that.. but i guess that's Caesar as a lil one on the cover of escape from the planet I'd the apes i guess
That was the most well placed WTF I've ever seen

i agree with bro saying what the fuck at the end cuz actually what the fuck 💀
Gotta love how in the 68 movie it was just a ship that got caught in time dilation
Yet 3 movies later they just said"nah, it's a time"
The Time Travel shenanigans being explained is a well deserved "WTF" cause like...what the f$%@ were they smoking back then?
The only movies where I am with the friend's WTF.
Most genuine wtf
That makes enough sense
You can also just see it as a reboot... Which it is
Ya know...I forgot how batshit the original Planet of the Apes were.
This is just "when your friend is not smart" lol bro said "Wait, reboots have timelines!?" at that point you gotta end the friendship.
This is why both series are separated.
