@@charlieknight7431 nah that team will get ran over - Rice will get destroyed by himself. Bellingham and foden are the same type of player and dont contribute enough defensively. Putting palmer on the left is stupid, you are just forcing him into the team. Hes been amazing in the CAM position and you want to put him on the left and expect to get the same result. Unfortunately he'll be behind bellingham and foden. Foden will probably be put on the left and Bellingham in the CAM with rice and probably kobbie or Gallagher.

Our defense is nowhere near as talented as it was from 2000 - 2010. This is England's biggest problem and gives Southgate a reason to play even more negative football than even he might want to.

That makes perfect sense though. 3 solid CBs, mainoo and rice double pivot, then a super flexible front 5. That's how most teams line up in possession anyway. Saka and Bellingham can put in work defensively too. It's pretty doable.

Southgate will have a headache thats for sure especially as i think there are 5 english players that have 20+ goal contributions in the top 5 european leagues. Imagine having palmer, watkins, bowen and gordan as bench players only france have that kind of depth

He should definitely start for England. I also like the maturity he showed taking the ball and shoving the others away for the penalty. Consistency is key.

Do you know that Saka isn't scoring hat tricks or is having less impressive season that Palmer but he's having equal amount of numbers playing in a team that is in a UCL quarter final, in a title race. Saka is also a player that has been playing almost every game in the league since 2019, he is also a player that has been targeted by two defenders every game because they know how much of a threat he is in a team that is more respected by the league, forced to play a low block often times.

@@AnarXhyyy7 Saka has 0 hat tricks since joining the premier league. Palmer has two in his last three games. If Palmer continues to score there is no way he doesn’t start over saka because of how in form he is. Or we find a way to play both.

Put Cole Palmer in this Arsenal squad, he doesn’t have as much impact or high level performances than Saka. At some point, we have to stop overgassing players in their first real seasons, Bukayo has benn doing it for 3 years consecutively now.
Palmer will go right to the top and is better than Foden. Simple as that.
Rory it's all well and good saying he must start for England but please tell me who misses out in the starting line up? While I do agree that he's had a great season, 9 penalties. Take those out and his season still very good but not player of the season contender. Especially when Saka and Foden exist. His competition for England ironically. He thrives as Chelsea's far and away best player and has to do most of it himself but it wouldn't be the same as that for England at international level
we need some proper signings this summer, we can't let our starboy's talent go to waste. Sterling, reece james, silva, mudryk have to be sold. We need a quality CB and a proper winger to begin rebuilding

United fan here Rory. Englishman in Finland. We get all the PL games, Saturday 3pm included with Viaplay, so always a game on plus I have Palmer in my Fantasy team lol. As for the penalty incident, the word is petulance. Imagine that happening under Fergie or even Mourinho? 4-0 up...both are getting hooked and told to go straight to the shower and dealt with after the game. Potch just watched arms crossed and when he subbed the guy that thought he'd won the pen (he didn't, the Palmer foul was awarded the pen), he hugged him as he came off. These are like spoilt children that Potch is looking after as a nanny in a Mansion and the parents don't allow discipline. I also noticed they blanked him at full time! His own bloody 'team mates'? There's division there and Potch can't control it.

There is no question that he is a miles better player than saka. I can’t think of one thing that saka is better at. Most people will say about “stats” and that bs but Palmer actually has more goal involvements in way less games this season for a way worse team 😂 he’s so clear of him it’s unbelievable.
They do need someone to step and take the pens if Kane bottles it again or gets injured. Definitely better than putting Saka or Rashford on shootouts too

On current form would take a Palmer over a Saka. I do however think Saka is a good player for the team. He also gets tired. I think using Palmer as a first priority sub for Bellingham and Saka is a good idea.
Unless freakish seasons like Bale 12/13, Players don't win POTY unless they win trophies. Quite rightly. Especially not with this many pens.

Individual brilliance doesn't mean much when in modern football, winning trophies is about the team overall. Southgate's record against top teams is abysmal, so sadly it doesn't matter. We could have Mbappe, Virgil, Rodri, Southgate would still find a way to Lose against Croatia

That's why Palmer needs more experienced teammates to boost the overall performance of the team.
Poch is not to blame for the penalty incident, he has made it clear that Palmer is the pen taker. Selfishness blinded madueke and Jackson. The quicker we can stamp the selfishness out of this team, the better we will be in the long run.
Well he should start ahead of Saka. But not ahead of Foden. Though if you can squeeze Foden into CM (his best position IMO), or even LM, then I suppose you could start both of them. Southgate likes to play with two CDMs though, so it'd be difficult if Bellingham's fit.
