  • Tottenham were well beaten by Manchester City which was terrible news for Arteta and Arsenal in their hunt for the title. Guardiola saw his side win 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium thanks to 2 goals from Erling Haaland but all the talk has been about Tottenham fans wanting their own side to lose…

They've been in the champions league multiple times and never once since 2016 and that time they reached the CL final have I said they look like a serious threat. They've gotten CL multiple times before and they're still shit. What will change if they get it now? They'll still get knocked out in the RO16 and Levy will use most of the revenue to host concerts or American football and the team will remain shit, at least in Europa they have a chance to compete. But if they hand their biggest rivals their first league in 20 years, just for you to remain shit next year, that's going to live forever

Ange isn't the first manager to expose the weak mentality of Spurs, ask Conte and Mourinho about it. I get it, Spurs fans would rather be happy to lose as long Arsenal don't win the Premier League title. However, Spurs not so long ago were at one point challenging for the Premier League title under Pochettino but they couldn't get it done and failed to win any silverware and their decline in the 18/19 season sent Spurs back to mediocrity. Won't be long until Son leaves Spurs and we'll see how Spurs are really are with mostly dross players in their squad.

i dont think anyone would understand what spurs fans went though. In my eyes celebrating your team losing is insane but until i'm in that position ill never understand, but as an Arsenal fan from what i saw that game spurs dont have what it takes to win anything so ill never experience that. (the are you watching Arsenal chants were grudgingly really clever and i would have joined in if i was in there shoes)
Celebrating so much you cause a 3rd born winner manager to consider quitting is the most extremely damning thing i've ever heard out of any club.
Tottenham are an extremely damaged club i understand the value of rivalry the best memory's of Arsenal's worst era were always beating Spurs. Spurs are deep within over 50 years of pain, so i get why the rivalry means so much but the level of damage to the ability to win is staggering. Spurs had a chance at CL football, a chance to progress, a chance to improve, a chance to make steps to winning and they choose to celebrate losing instead of rueing the chances lost. We all learnt alot about Tottenham this week and none of it is good, the at least Arsenal cant win should be the silver lining of a bad situation not the true prize.

This is spot on. Champions League football is irrelevant for Tottenham (not to mention very possibly wouldn't have happened even if they'd won). Players don't give a fuck about it anymore either in terms of transfers, as long as they're paid what they want they'll join Tottenham in the summer. Winning Arsenal a league title would be something they wouldn't ever recover from.

Spurs were great, they could've gotten something from a game with the best team in the world. With a bit of luck that game ends in a draw or better. What the hell is wrong with a team that fans WANT to lose because shadenfreude is all they have to cling to? Tribalism is real, I get it, but for gods sake have some pride in your players. Should they have walked off the pitch in the first minute? Maybe they should've gambled on themselves to lose?
