    Hi Tomasz, I was intending to do precisely the same thing very soon for my Rage5-S so you’ve saved me a useful amount of design thinking. Many thanks.
    Using the principle of a drop-in filler plate as you’v made, other tools can be dropped in in a similar manner. I’m planning an inverted jigsaw with a blade guide for the tip of the blade having seen stand-alone versions on CZcams. I don’t have a bandsaw or the space or funds for a decent sized one. Other tool ideas are also possible limited only by imagination.

    Excellent tutorial! Thanks for sharing. I made a simple clamp on style router table that clamps to my workbench last year.
    I used it to make some shaker style doors - absolutely fantastic! Initially, I was using my cordless Makita trim router, but as it worked so well, I purchased one of Katzu 'knockoff' models which now lives in the table. I can also report that the dust extraction in this mode works extremely well, particularly as the tool is inverted, and most of the dust ends up in the cyclone!
    Nevertheless, I might just have a go at your nifty number as it might just save space, and, hey, it's always fun to add functionality to existing tools.

    Damned ! This is the future evolution for my saw. This is even more awesome for small workshops like mine. Can't wait for the full module. Just one thing : I think the katsu router is fine for finishing pieces but not for hard work like dovetails or grooves. It needs more torque imho.

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  Před 2 lety +1

      I would say that's true about the katsu router but I have tackled many projects with it that in theory is not designed to do. But it tackled them flawlessly. Version 2 will be with a router lift for a plunge router that is much more powerful. But I think I will make 3 different types of lifts. Two for a plunge router but using different materials ( cheaper and more expensive ones) and a third version for the trimmer router.

      Version 2 will be with a router plate. There will be no plans for V1 as I think its simple enough. I have started making plans for version 2. Although I was exchanging my work flow with a friend that also has the Rage 5S and his dimensions were slightly different to mine. Which may be a problem for making plans as they may not be accurate for everyone. If I end up making the plans they will be for free on my website. Can't charge money for something that potentially will not work for everyone.

      Thanks for your reply. It's the simple router extension. I bought the Katsu router but need longer Screws for the table extension as you must have used in your kind video. Please can you tell me what to get? Thank you for the awesome help you provide in your videos 😀

      @@robertmessham4814 so you need screws that hold the router to the table? I no longer have this extension as I made a full boxed up version of this. Just measure the thickness of your current base plate screws from the router with callipers. Then the length will be tad longer than the thickness of the table top material. That's all. With those dimensions just pop to your local DIY store and get bolts/ screws that will fit your dimensions.

    Why did you change side from version 1 and 2 on the saw?

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  Před 2 lety

      I didn't change the side. Its the same right hand side as you facing the saw.

    be wary of the katsu router - i had to upgrade to the dewalt as the katsu started to drift up and down a mm or 2 and ruined a couple of pieces.

      Was it the collect that gone wrong or the attached holder?

    • @kanedNunable
      @kanedNunable Před 2 lety

      @@CasualDIY it just had some play on the actual latch of the router when closed up. Even if tight. I don't think the latch is very sturdy. The dewalt is a very good upgrade.

    Hi Thomas
    I know it’s been awhile but could you put a router top on the other side of the table
    Thanks

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  Před rokem

      Hmm you could but I think there's less space for it. It's just more comfortable to have it on this side

    Why did you remove the blade guard from the saw?

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  Před 2 lety

      I mostly use my sled. But the blade guard I got it just doesn't work and blocks the wood from going through.

    Hi how are you I hope you are healthy and good.. I lost the riving knife of my evolution table saw and ordering a new one is very expensive to me due to the shipping cost.. Is there any work around to make one?

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  Před 2 lety +1

      You would need a template for it so it fits correctly. Get some sort of hard plastic, steel would be better and cut it out. However I doubt if this will come more cost effective
