*talking about pinch welds*
“this little line right here” 🤣
are there any spacers that go in between the water pump pulley?
Wow what an amazing video
Do you feel there is an advantage to using a timing belt tension gauge? Or is the tension spring accurate enough?
I dont use the tension gauge and haven't had problems
Alright! I didn't know u were mechanical wow u have a little more work to do I hope u can put that bolt u were having so much trouble getting off back on hopefully it won't be as difficult as it was getting it off putting it back on good luck it looks like u know what your doing so I'll be watching for the next video car man 🤣I have faith in ya!
On my old toyota's. I put a 18" breaker bar with appropriate socket on the crankshaft bolt and hit the starter motor for a couple of seconds. Thereby unloosening bolt first thing. Then the rest is easy.
Thanks for the idea
Why do you want to use screw driver to find top dead center? why not just use timing mark on crank gear?
Thank you for the video
I am installing a
koyorad radiator
Mishimoto fan
Mishimoto hoses
Fly’in Miata water pump
And fly’in Miata timing belt
And I found this video very helpful
awesome!
is there a brand you recommend for the water pump and timing belt as a kit? looking to replace mine
i bought mine from miata mecca
@@AutoAutopsy thank you!!
Nice man cant wait tell the next video an i like your dads dress shirt lol jk. Can't wait tell its done
lol
I’m late here but you do not need to take the valve cover off. Or the thermostat. Or anything other than the pump itself, 3 plastic timing covers, and the plastic intake piece. :) good day
oof if only
Lock the crankshaft for bolt removal or torquing down with a crank bolt tool. Flying Miata has one. Mike at Miatamecca has one. Foolproof.
I just used the hand brake to keep the crank shaft still when I changed my timing belt and water pump and all that a couple years ago in my 1995 Miata. I did use the little Flying Miata cam shaft gear tool to keep those still, though.
thank you for the tip John!
I lost my shit when he said he spent and half an hour in that fucking bolt. 😂😂
:(
Do you have to take the whole timing apart to replace just the water pump
i did this years ago, i don't remember tbh lol
yeah you do because the water pump is right behind it and is connected to it
Bro you have done this the wayyyyyyyy hard way
huh
The crank pulley bolt would come out way easier if you had an impact
so would any other bolt!
Did you have to take the cam gears off?
yes
@@AutoAutopsy yeah im currently doing my water pump and yeah i know now
Tip: when u jack these kind of cars, lower the soft top next time.
What benefit does that provide?
@@AutoAutopsy helps with the "bending" of soft top rods . Imagine jacking up a car with soft top. What kind of pressure / stretching / bending goes on the soft top rods inside the car.
And all soft top connecting points in general
rical800 good point
Those are FACTORY OEM FANS that you cut the wires to. Now you have to replace them because the wire was cut short.
Those fans were not OEM, lol
So no second part?
negative
it took me 3 days to get that demon bolt off 😭very traumatizing
😫😫
I challenge you to put it back together 😏😏😏
By the way it's called a cylinder head cover gasket or some crazy shit like that 😂😂 I enjoyed you swearing every now and then. keep it up :)
Lol thanks!
You don’t need to pull balancer. Radiator or fans .
i pulled the rad and fans because they are getting replaced, but thanks for the info!
Notification squ!aaaaaaaad!
I never NEVER watch the shit adverts
i never NEVER asked for your opinion!
You should super charged it
Nah, turbo if anything
Why dont you buy a new car and offering for sale 2 saabs , Miata, etc.. everything will change.
wtf this car is heavy maintenance lmao
literally have to open engine to gey to spark plugs the fuck lol?
Negative; you literally just have to pull out the coils and you can access the spark plugs, like almost any other car
