I would’ve loved it if instead of just getting skyward sword as an HD port we got a bundle similar to what they did with the All-Star bundle for Mario and we got Windwaker, twilight princess and skyward sword in one. -R.I.P notifications

I would love to just have every zelda game available on one console. I honestly would pay 60 each if they put the same effort that they put into ocarina on the 3ds.
The Nintendo pricing is getting a little bit crazy, there are never discounts or price drops, you can find 5 year old games at full price. And dont get me started at the "remasters" and the re-releases from the WiiU. They give them a 1080p upres and they resell it at full price,and people buy them because of nostalgia. It's ridiculous.
Then buy something else. Complaining about something you don't engage with helps whom, exactly?

Gotta say, the joystick controls were awkward at first but feels amazing after a few hours. Don't sleep on this one if the controls scare you. It's a masterclass game
I've spent already 10 hours on this with only Pro Controller, it feels amazing.

It's expensive but I feel like this was one of the more unique zelda games, not as good as twilight princess but still a good game.

I didn’t even paid that much back then and it included a gold wii mote, foil cover, and a orchestra soundtrack. I guess if you never played it is… kinda expensive too, but at least is new to you.

I got my skyward sword for like$ 11 bucks at a pawn shop I got so lucky it came with the wiimote ,that didn't work, still dope af .but I paid $60 for this because definitely worth it if u travel ,only have time when u travel ,and its a long ass game i can play over and over again, and sadly there not gonna be a price drop anytime soon 🤣
Let's face it, when we were kids, we all wanted to imagine the wiimote was an actual sword, so Nintendo fed our childhood imagination with Skyward Sword.

@@Zathren The precision of Wii Motion+ was terrible and constantly required recalibration. Skyward Sword was a gimmick. Go play Boneworks or Blade and Sorcery to see Nintendo's empty promises finally fulfilled.
I had a real (POS display that's closer to a club) sword, and no Wii.

THE most underrated/misunderstood Legend of Zelda game. Man, I have some great memories with this one on my Wii back in the day. Every area just felt so cleverly designed and especially the desert parts. This is probably my favorite soundtrack in the series too. It's finally time to revisit this old favorite of mine on my Switch!

@@carlosortiz4055 not really, if you liked the first skyward sword, this is pretty much an identical experience. There's some QoL changes, but otherwise it's the same game

I loved it the first time! But I've never beaten it a second time. I've tried many times but just end up getting too bored. Unfortunately, in hindsight it's too slow paced occasionally and VERY linear and that just ruins it for me personally

The worst Zelda game there is, I have it, just because I'm a collector, otherwise I woulda passed. Is slow paced and also, the dialog boxes, omg!!!
I want it but feel like it's a bit much to pay full price for an HD upgrade. Will probably wait to find a 2nd hand copy in the future. In the meantime I think it's time I finally played botw dlc.

We just got the Ninja Gaiden HD Collection and THPS 1+2, each less than 60 bucks.
Honestly I don't wanna pay as much for less and just one Zelda HD for 60 bucks, which I already played on Wii? Not happening, waiting for a used copy for 40 (or less).

I've never played Skyward Sword, however even so tbh I really really question the pricing of these "remakes" sometimes. I'm not saying it's not work to upgrade/port them, you can't just take the existing files, slap new textures on, and call it a day. But at the same time it's not like making a whole new game (most times) so it's kind of hard to swallow the full price thing.

Finally someone with sense. Personally it's just not worth 60$ for an "hd" remake to me. Why not spend 15 and play it on your old wii? It's not going to be life changing on switch and it kind of disappoints me (to some extent) that Nintendo knows people will buy these types of games. Now for the rest of time, Nintendo realizes that they can put less work in a "remake" and still price it 60$ because they now know people will buy it.

I’d probably expect that to happen in 2024 or 2025. I’m gonna guess that the Wind Waker 4K will release in late 2023 around the 20th anniversary of the original game, the 10th anniversary of the Wii U remaster that it’s almost the same as, and alongside a 4K Switch, while Twilight Princess 4K will probably release either in late 2025 around the 20th anniversary of the original game and the 10th anniversary of the Wii U remaster that it’s almost the same as, or maybe in 2024 if Nintendo decides to release a Zelda spin-off game or something like that in 2025. (Nintendo has released at least one Zelda game or spin-off every year since 2015.) (2022 is clearly going to be the year of BOTW 2, and it’s DLC will be releasing throughout 2023.)
@@katalbinson6562 BotW HD 2027 is all but confirmed based on previous patterns of HD remakes for the 10 year anniversary. We missed ocarina of time in 2018 for the 20 year so no guarantees for the wind water in 2023 (and following that trend). But we can certainly hope so!
They need to update the visuals more, the Wii U port needs a remaster of it. The visuals look really raw and outdated in Twilight Princess.
I haven't played this game when it was released back then, it was the only 3D Zelda I've missed, I'm about 1 hour into the game and so far it's been a great game, I'm glad I got it despite all the hate is receiving!!!
They didn't even upscale the textures, man. They straight up just went to options and changed the resolution from 480p to 1080p xD
Foreals wtf is up with that. I don’t mind paying 60 if it’s a fantastic upscale. Mods look better than this. I appreciate the frame rate for sure though.
@@Denkin_Donuts The textures look very good. Tantalus Media (the developer of this game) didn’t have to remake most textures since they aren’t super detailed unlike Twilight Princess HD but like the Wind Waker HD. All the textures in this game are cleaned up to fit with the art style in HD now.
Nintendo got complacent and now they're looking like they are going to pay for it this holiday.
@@EQOAnostalgia i doubt it hard, first they did mario 3d all stars with 3 games, one of those being a wii game, then they do sshd being a single wii game for full price, that means selling old stuff with no effort worked, and they'll either keep doing this or make it worse

This is my favorite Zelda story. I had the Wii set with the music CD back when it came out and I loved popping that music on when driving around. Perfect for NNJ/NYC traffic. My friend who didn't play it on Wii is playing it tonight and I hope he likes it.
I’ve always liked Skyward Sword 🤷🏻♀️ the story and music are amazing, and the controls never really bothered me. I’m glad it’s getting a second try.

I’m sure you guys are just kids but learn about stocks… learn while you’re kids. You’ll be able to afford what you couldn’t even with working. ($8 minimum wage in some states) At least that’s what I would advice my 15 year old version of myself.

OoT and MM are still amazing on the 3DS. Personally I think they're probably better than they would be on the Switch because the gyroscope in the Switch is just "Meh". Those 2 games are the reason I never got rid of my 3DS and probably won't.

You should play it again. I got it on release and didn't like it very much, so when the HD remake was announced I decided to give it another playthrough to see if I wanted to get it for Switch. I liked it more this time around. The flaws are still obvious (motion controls are still kinda iffy, less exploration than other Zelda games, and annoying menu prompts) but the story is great and the characters are way deeper than we usually get from Zelda. Even if I still prefer the other 3D Zelda titles over this one, it's still a good game and worth having in your collection.

I didn’t play it on the wii, but I bought it for the switch last night, planning to hop in tonight.
This was my favorite Zelda game for years, getting flasbacks from when you do the silent realm trials and my heart nearly beat trough my chest, amazing game.

I originally played this game when it first came out in 2011, when I was 8. Replaying it 10 years later was an amazing experience, and the HD remake is really the ultimate way to play this game. Finally beating that one boss that stumped me as a kid felt so nostalgic and heartwarming that I was willing to overlook the $60 price tag. 100% would recommend
I've been enjoying this one all day today. I have it on PC (updated controls Xbox 1 controller) and have an HD texture pack on it too, and I gotta say I prefer the HD remake on the switch more. I really noticed the increased frames and the controls are pretty fun once you get used to it. I don't regret the purchase at all so far 👍
I preordered Skyward Sword for the Wii and got the version that had the Zelda-themed built-in motion plus remote (still have it) and had a flawless experience with it regarding motion controls. I couldn't understand why people hated it so much as swinging the sword around, being in control, was the real high point and made you feel badass and truly in the shoes of Link. I hope this version gives people who had a bad time with it the experience I had so many moons ago.
Having played every Zelda, I think SS has the best Dungeons and remember how incredibly fun they were. Groose is my homeboy.

Did you not play any other Zelda yet at the time? It was the worst one. Windwaker, Majora's Mask, Oot, and even Twilight Princess were all way better and had livelier worlds to explore.

Man this game makes me feel old, when it came out I was still in elementary school, and now I'm about to start my second year of college. It was the second Zelda game I ever played and it is still my favorite game of the series. While I do love this game I'm a little hesitant to buy it due to its pricing and seeing from live streams that the motion controls can have frustrating occurrences that weren't present in the Wii version. If I do get it I might wait to buy a used copy of it but idk.
I relate to this, I found I wasnt all that crazy about it when I first played it in 2011, but at this point, I'm almost fiending for more Zelda, and I'm absolutely loving it. I'm glad I got it again! I dont know if this will make me more or less patient, while I wait for TP, OoT, and Windwaker ports, and BotW2, lol.
I wasnt sure what to think about the buttons controls at first, but after playing, I didnt feel it was that hard to get used to, and it is kinda cooler than just running into battle pressing "Y". That being said, I dont think I'd want to see them permanently make that change, if that makes sense. Its fitting for this game, I find. Definitely does look and feel a little awkward every now and again though.
This is one of my favorite Zelda games personally. Really ambitious and with a very memorable villain that I will always love. I recommend anyone who hasn’t played it to give it a shot

I didn’t have a wii when this came out so this is the only 3d zelda game I haven’t played. Is it worth buying for that 60 dollar price point considering I haven’t played it? I’m still a little annoyed with Nintendo that they didn’t just give us what we want...ocarina of time, majoras mask (or twilight princess), and wind waker remastered bundle...I’d even take a non remaster just ported bundle like they did with Mario lol
Despite anything people say about this game, there's something to be said about the bow and arrows in this particular entry- they felt AMAZING to control. Doubly so if you recalibrated the mote to the center whilst holding the remote vertically to make it feel more like a bow. The headshots I made with it from across the level were always so satisfying.
I played it when it came out and for personal reasons it is my favourite Zelda game. I love this new remaster of it 🥳
I plan to pick this one up since I’ve never played it. At first I was hesitant on the motion controls but I think I should just use a different mindset that this is just different and keep an open mind. (It does look fun just controls are important to me)
You can play with button controls if motion controls turn you off. It's what I'll be doing!

@@Yusei255 No, it's not. 60 bucks for a remaster of a 10 year old game that literally only improves resolution and framerate, being able to fast forward through text, and being able to skip cutscenes on normal mode. It doesn't fix any of the major structure issues like going through each region three times and the insane amount of padding.
In France it's 44€ dunno how much that would be in the US. Just bought Pikmin 3 Deluxe for 38€

I love skyward sword. Played it loads of times, last time was on pc at 4k in Dolphin, using a Wii motion plus, fantastic looking game in my opinion, brilliant sound, and I personally love the motion controls makes the combat way more interesting.

~2014 I borrowed a friend's Wii with all the Wii Zelda games. Skyward Sword was my favorite (I recall that being a controversial opinion lol).
Today I'm in better financial straights and have a switch. Buying this as soon as I'm home to play over the weekend.

I actually remember loving the trials when I played this as 10 years ago lol. I think they were some of my favourite parts of the game

I think Skyward sword came out in amongst a slew of other amazing titles and unfortunately was considered a black sheep of the family. However after returning to my Wii U and playing the original Wii version again I'm amazed at how innovative it was with some of the best dungeons. Interesting once the dust has settled and returning to this game without all the noise, all the hyperbole just how amazing it is.
It was the only mainline Zelda game I never played(my Wii broke before it came out and I never got a replacement system), so I bought it and played through the entirety of it. I have to say I loved this game. It was totally worth the money for me. I also have to say that while the button controls took a bit of getting used to, they became very intuitive by the time I hit the surface world. Great story, great music, great characters, great dungeons, mostly great bosses. Very emotional game! I can’t wait to start playing it again!

The last boss is one of the best boss fights I've ever experienced (wii days)...Have fun

I never played this one due to it being moving controls, but getting it on the switch and having more traditional control is nice and aside from some janky controls its been fun to play on my time off with all ready 30+ hours

For someone who didn’t play skyward sword on the Wii I personally love it on the switch it takes a while to get used to the button controls the story is really good you should definitely get it if you have the money and if you haven’t Played it if you have played the original then I should just still get it I’m about to do my second Playthru a but on motion Controls
Skyward Sword is easily the most underrated Zelda game. I thought it was great 10 years ago, happy to see it get some much needed love 👌🏼
Skyward Sword is split almost perfectly 50/50 with people loving and hating it. Spirit Tracks is almost entirely hated, so it's more underrated.

I only ever got to play it on my best friend's Wii, and I didn't get very far at all because we wanted to play other games together. Having the chance to really sit down and play it just like it's on the Wii is fantastic. I pre-ordered, and picked it up, loving it. One Zelda adventure I can cross off the list when I finish it. Only one I'll need to beat after this one is my Oracle of Seasons copy on 3DS.

I missed this one first time around, I'm loving the hd version. Great game, modern classic.
The controls took some time to get used to but I'm enjoying it so far. It seemed that running this game on my switch overheated it somehow because it was the first time it ever happened.

@DAVID the manga, from what I recall, was actually released after the anime. I read the first couple volumes and it was VERY different from the anime. Love Code Geass so freaking much.
That 60 fps looks real nice. Still gotta go with a pass on this one. It's great that a lot of its issues were fixed but by the time I got to the end of it on the Wii I disliked it more than any other zelda game I've played

Just picked this up on sale a day ago and am having so much fun with it. It totally feels like a game that should have been on the N64 after OOT. The long awaited game that never came on the system. This is easily one of the greatest Zelda games made!

The changes definitely don't warrant it costing 60 dollars, and as people keep buying completely lazy products like this it only encourages nintendo to keep being lazy...wich is what they are doing alot

Curious to know how you felt about the controller options, personally I hate both options. The joycon option is terrible, having to constantly press y to center the sword sucks and having to hold a button on the pro controller feels so unnatural. I'm disappointed

I finished this game back in the Wii days. Yes... once you get past that initial stint in Skyloft... that's when things get going... all in all in the end, I loved the game.
I super love this game! And you’re spot on about the sound track. I did play back when it came out, but I really don’t know if I can justify spending the $60 on it again to play what I’ve already played. I think I’m like most people, and I’ll wait for BotW 2 to spend that money instead.

I hated the motion controls back on the Wii so I’m looking forward to playing with the new controls. Crazy that this game is so important to the Legend of Zelda lore. The first game in the timeline.

Even though I literally played the wii version last year, I might buy this because I’m so starved for zelda content. I just wish they something better (in my opinion) for the 35th anniversary than a game and watch zelda version.

Starved for Zelda content? The Switch has had: BOTW, Links Awakening Remake, Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition, Age of Calamity and now Skyward Sword HD with BOTW 2 coming next year. I can't think of a Nintendo console that has had as much Zelda content as this.

Never had a wii so I picked it up at my local Nintendo store day 1. One of the only Zelda games I haven’t played yet and so far it’s great!
Nintendo has always knew how to make a solid game that can stand the stand the test of time .
I have played Skyward sword back when it released for Nintendo Wii .
I never got the chance to play it when it first released due to not having the console to do so, so I was super excited to experience this for the first time with the port, so much so that I had it preordered even though that's something I never really do.
I have been having an absolute blast with it. Is it perfect? Hell no, but it is providing me with a very traditional Zelda experience that made me feel the way when I was first playing stuff like OoT. BotW was good, but it's also a departure from the classic formula, and this game definitely filled that gap for me.
So while I can't comment on how it holds up if you've played before, as someone who gets to experience it for the first time, hell yeah it's been worth every cent so far.

I’m sorry, but the “best they could do” comment is lame. Like come on - $60 for an 11 year old game with the bare minimum update wise. It’s an anniversary year for the series too. This game deserved better, especially for that price.
This was the first Zelda game I played and it’s absolutely my favourite along with BOTW. Best soundtrack and dungeons in any Zelda game and that’s saying something. The story and art style were really charming and the character development was fantastic. The motion controls are so unique I never understood why anyone had a problem with it. To me this is very much a perfect Zelda game.

I loved this game in 2011, and I still love it. It’s pretty funny that a lot of the quality of life upgrades I didn’t even notice because it felt like they were always supposed to be there lol. Only gripe is that this game is what made me realize my joy cons were broken….after buying new ones and repairing my old though, game works great. I notice that sometimes I have more trouble with the gyroscope than I remember having with the wii, but there is literally a button you can press whenever to fix it. Overall, loved it. Glad I got it as a birthday present tho so I didn’t pay for it myself. Not that I wouldn’t have anyway…I really do love this game. ❤️

Played this game in maybe 2011-2014 unsure but i loved this game. i didnt use to have internet so when i got stuck if i couldn't complete it by the end of the day i would go to my grandads who lived up the road the next day for like 10 mins to see how to get past a puzzle, my only specific memory of this is on a pirate ship with this wierd sand puzzle with these little monsters under the sand. Also i dont have a switch i have a switch lite so im gonna wait a while and in the future 1-2 years i will probably end up buying a switch just for the motion controls, this zelda makes me tear up remembering all the nostalgia and memories especially when i hear the music.

Using the joycon vs motion control takes time getting use to. I wished they had the sprint mapped to a trigger button. It would make running and camera control easier.
