    I loved her professional wording and how she triple checked the previous piercers mistakes and even triple check the outcome by marking it it was very professional and educational... my piercer from 16 years ago probably did not do any of the sort but I love how she knew all the mistakes (off centered etc ) that can happen!!! Wow !!! She really cares and it shows :)

    Love how she talks through the whole procedure. When I got my belly button pierced many years ago, the piercer lied to me and said he was going to pierce on the count of three and instead told me to take a breath and did it on one. I survived but it definitely shocked the hell out of me. Maybe one day I’ll get it redone 🤷🏻‍♀️

      Im sorry that you were scared and so put off piercings with this experience!
      If it helps any, I doubt it was done just for any nasty or sadistic reasons, it's normally so that you don't panic and tense beforehand which can mess up alignment, esp on naval.
      I pinky promise that a good piercist would listen to your concerns tho and be willing to talk you through things and find a way to work well with you 💕

    This is sad... When I got my belly button pierced I was never told to come back and check it, I was 16 so this was 12 years ago. I ended up being allergic to the metal and it didn't heal for 4 years it kept getting infection after infection. The place I went to ended up being shut down. Glad to know there are people out there trying to educate on these subjects. Thank you!

    • @sj4iy
      @sj4iy Před 3 lety +21

      @@allegraanegra455 Actually it's worse to take it out...you end up trapping the infection in the skin when it heals over. At least with the piercing hole it's able to escape. What she really needed to do was get antibiotics and go to a professional and have it examined and change out the jewelry.

    • @annahayden
      @annahayden Před 3 lety +4

      Same thing happened to me. My body rejected it because of this allergy to the metal I didn’t know I had until years after the fact. Had to take it out before it tore all the way through my skin at the time though. I have pretty terrible scarring from it but I’m glad it ended up healing none the less. You aren’t the only one! :)

    • @reneeburtness1526
      @reneeburtness1526 Před 2 lety +2

      @@sj4iy that's not correct at all. Any medical professional would advise u to remove the piercing and it wouldn't close when it is infected the infection is eating the skin and tissue around it. the piercing is in no way allowing it to drain, it's the complete opposite actually. And u never put a new jewelry in a infection there's not purpose as so as the jewelry comes in contact with the infected area it would be contaminated.

    There’s a few things wrong here:
    1. There is no need to use sterile gloves. And if you’re going to use them, then at least put them on correctly. In medical school they teach how to correctly pit them on and it’s kind of difficult.The client’s body is not sterile, the packets in which the jewellery is sterilised is also not sterile from the outside, and so is the marker.
    2. You can pierce through scar tissue, it actually heals faster because it’s already there. And also piercing around the scar tissue is bot the best idea, because there is more pressure when the barbell is under existing scar tissue, which is a lot thicker than normal skin. That can cause rejection.
    3. Why not use clamps? It makes the process way more faster and less painful for the client.
    P.s. I’m a piercer and also a registered nurse.

      Hello friend!
      I hope you're keeping safe. If you don't mind can I get to discuss something profitable with you that's if you're open to new business proposals?

    I had gone to get my belly button pierced professionally, can’t remember the studio but I had noticed that the jewelry kept pushing outward during the healing process. After about a year, there was nothing but a thread so I took it out and let it close.
    After losing about 20 lbs and 5 years later, I attempted again... but the same result happened... not sure if the jewelry was too heavy or what. It was a 14G standard piece 🤷‍♀️.
    I miss it, but I need to lose my quarantine weight before re-attempting.

      That sounds like your body is just rejecting it, sometimes you can try to use titanium jewelry and it’ll fix it but sometimes some people’s body will just reject it no matter what metal is used.

    • @jordantara7567
      @jordantara7567 Před 3 lety +3

      Yes! I was scrolling just looking to see if anyone said anything lmao, the bar will be the same length you’re just supposed to see a little bit of the end , I noticed she didn’t measure the markings with the jewelry but I thought maybe she just didn’t record that part but after seeing it done it definitely wasn’t measured

    In gonna be honest, I know that professional is always better and YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, but one of the primary reasons I did it in a high school bathroom was because of costs. Like $30 for a belly piercing and $60 for jewelry where on Amazon the jewelry is like $4. And at the mall naval jewelry is normally $15. Comes to show that even costs can influence a persons decision

    I’ve given a few piercings and I’m okay at it but I’ll never give a nose piercing again besides septums. Blood squirtedd. That happens a lot from them teeny veins. I’m all for doing it professionally it’s just fun to learn piercing though as long as I tell them how to clean it and that I’m not a professional. I also tell them exactly what I’ll be doing.

      @@Rachel_Tensions Why not? As long as it's done professionally and this person is willing to take the necessary steps for aftercare, there's no reason not to unless the piercer isn't doing under-the-mask piercings due to COVID.

    To me the belly button was the painless one. Actually I should even say "pain free". I only felt the needle going through (which is weird cause it was without pain)... My nostril hurt like a b... though... Maybe I'm just weird
