    From a dental professional: this isn't "dangerous" as long as a professional applies it! You can get them done in a dental office. You also need to take care to maintain the teeth health as if your teeth get stained while you have the gem on when it comes off it will be whiter underneath. The real danger comes from when unlicensed / non dental people apply them improperly or with bad materials.

      I heard from 2 different dental professionals (1 is an odontologist and the other one a dental prosthetist) both told me this is bad for different reasons, but the most important one is that is strange object and most likely your body will try to protect you against it, also they showed me what can happen to your teeth with piercings like bone and gum reabsorption.

    Etch does not destroy the enamel, it breaks down the minerals on the enamel surface which is self repairing from the minerals naturally occurring in your saliva as well as toothpaste. Etch is used by orthodontists for braces, crowns, veneers etc and has been studied for decades, as long as it’s used correctly it doesn’t damage the teeth at all. Tooth gem technicians are also trained professionals however it is not a licensed field so please make sure your technician is certified by a reputable technician. Also, Swarovski crystals are no longer made with lead and any traces of lead are the same level in drinking water as it’s a naturally occurring element. Ebonee’s tooth gems are safe and look great, the only issue I see is her technician didn’t light cure correctly so it might not last as long as it should.

    • @viksra
      @viksra Před 2 lety +7

      You incorrectly stated "it breaks down the minerals on the enamel". It actually breaks down the enamel itself in order to create a porous surface (as stated in the video). If your teeth are natural, then this process is in fact damaging the surface of your tooth, regardless of whether or not it's done by a professional. That's not to say that you will feel any pain, but damage is being irreversibly done.

    • @briannadawn3812
      @briannadawn3812 Před 2 lety

      Only the etching part can harm enamel BUT only if its done improperly. so if you are looking into getting a tooth gem that is the semi permanent bonded one make sure its an actual professional and not one of the random people all of a sudden claiming to have a tooth gem business lol. or if you do it yourself just get the other adhesive (just doesnt last as long) there are literally so many other things that damage enamel like soda, juice, teeth grinding, sugar, acid reflux, bad dental hygiene which basically gives bacteria a free for all, all you can eat meal to the sugars and leftovers in ur mouth 😂 the bacteria produces an acid which turns into plaque which over time plaque completely breaks down enamel and ur gums too. so yea... etching a small part of the tooth; if properly administered with the correct time duration, really isn't anything anyone should be worried about.

    • @briannadawn3812
      @briannadawn3812 Před 2 lety

      @@you_when_u_eat_paint_dust4428 etching is not shaving a tooth. etching is an acidic gel that dissolves only a microscopic part of the tooths outer mineral content which leaves a rough texture so that a bonding agent can adhere way better than it can to the smooth enamel surface of a tooth.

    I think having anyone other than a dentist work on teeth is risky.
    Also the practice of breaking into the enamel is a bad idea.
    You can risk getting dental decay years from now.
    Over the years teeth can shift - I think better just to wear necklaces /bracekets etc
    These gems are not dental fillings.
    You can end up with damage years from now .
    Most people want strong tooth enamel and a dentist would say the same.

    So many questions with this video. & What a terrible idea to PERMANENTLY break down your ENAMEL for something that'll only last 6-24 months?? Lol enamel is no joke, you dont get more. Also $75? You can literally get a little 20 pack of tooth-sized Swarovski gems from Michael's or Hobby Lobby for $8. Finally, as a person that had braces for 3 YEARS, if they can adhere crazy metal to ppl's teeth WITHOUT breaking down the enamel, why cant they do the same here? Glue'em on, cure it! Why destroy the tooth first???

    Theres no bad effects on your teeth sure, but it looks like you constantly have food stuck in your teeth unless youre getting someone 6 inches from your face & showing them. Ive literally always 100% of the time thought someone had shit stuck in their teeth til they said they were tooth gems. Like just brush your teeth guys this genuinely looks terrible.
