54 yo and traditional engineer. Have almost convinced my boss to allow me to build AI to leverage another of my projects. Am also bit nervous, but excited too.

Dave, well said.I praise you in calling out very clearly all that no-code and low code are adequate solutions as a goal, and that you do not have to learn to code.
Great vid! Love that you point out the disadvantages of Bopress, Flowise and other no-code/low-cod tools. Although they are great tools they lack some customizability -a lot of Botpress bots I have seen on youtube from AI automation agencies CZcamsrs are just funnels within in a chatbot with a not-so-very-impressive AI element. Love that you point out AI is more than that and where real value for businesses is found!
True, these tools are good to spin up quick prototypes and get companies excited about using AI, but you will soon run into customization and scaling options.

You hit it right on the Nail, I have bought books in the past and simply never completed the learning because nothing in the book would work with my environment. Either because the software or codes don't work or are out of date.
Ik kijk nu denk ik al paar maanden praktisch alles wat ik tegenkom rond deze onderwerken, heb dit pas een keer eerder kunnen zeggen. Deze video is niet zoals al die andere die zoveel op elkaar lijken, je steekt er daadwerkelijk wat van op, tnx kerel.

i wish he went deeper on the actual subject of what kind of algorithims you will be writing and the amount of knowledge you need in math or types of projects you will actually be working, on this was very vague and top level

Ive started learning to code because of AI. Im just starting, but i just became so fascinated with the AI tools like midjourney and Chat GPT. I just became so fascinated that i want to be involved in some way. So im learning to code. I dont know anything. I dont know a darn thing. But im gunna start lesrning with the end goal of one day being able to work directly with AI tools and maybe even create them some day

There appears to be no instruction or guidance as to setting up an environment? Did I miss a link or outside reference for the environment topic? Please advise.
I started learning AI/ML back in 2020 (before the LLM hype) right around the time of the pandemic. I needed to brush up on the calculus, linear algebra and statistics I've forgotten since university. I have a beyond high-level understanding of most ML algorithms. For instance, I know ChatGPT is a decoder-only transformer architecture that calculates a probability distribution used for next-word prediction.
To work in this field requires lifelong learning. I put in the work and will continue putting in the work. The idea of low code/no code "engineers" profiting off this tech is just super sus. Maybe I'm just an old man yelling at clouds.
I guess as engineers, we just see the flaws of these tools ;)

Ok what if I want to learn how to build AI tools, systems and automations but I’m also so into art and want to use that in my tools/content creation. Which path to take? In this case is it enough to learn programming/machine learning/ data science basics as a foundation when using no code / low code and have GPT help me, to focus on my creative side? I’m good at building systems and structuring but also so into art and film making specially with the ability to use ai now it can make me create what I want. I’m so confused on what to do 😔 I’m ready to do anything I just finished a python course but I’m lost again if I’m doing the right thing or not , I don’t wanna end up a coder only spending hours on code , I’m creative

Hi @Dave, I'm poor at mathematics and I'm afraid of it. Is it better for me to learn AI with low mathematical skills? But I'm most interested in coding and I'm at intermediate level to code in SAP ABAP or SQL. I learn basics of Python, too. I'm just afraid of Mathematics. Please suggest.
I really like your presentation style and pace. One small suggestion, slow down and emphasise jargon words and abbreviations for those new to this. It would also be beneficial to flash key words or phrases on the screen beside you talking on screen. Subtitles don’t accurately pick up on unusual vocab. I sometimes find unfamiliar words hard to hear when you speak quickly due to your accent. This is not an issue with a slower pacing on unfamiliar words. The added advantage of the key phrase words on screen is that they provide visual stimulation to increase engagement. I have been teaching sci/maths for 20 years to high school students, and visual sameness makes people less likely to stay alert, despite interest. In the flip side, text that is clear but not too shouty as that is jarring.
I hope you take this as a well meaning desire to help rather than criticism. You have already made a professional looking presentation which engaged me on multiple levels. I plan to follow your course to learn about how I can use AI effectively to reduce time wastage on task creation. I much prefer to spend time learning new skills than repeating time consuming steps that should be improved. Thanks for your work. :-) Sarah, Tasmania

Hey guys! So I've started studying AI last year. I'm in the 3rd semester, always had problems with maths but python struck me right away. It's awaking a big interest since the beginning, but as I go further in the Uni, I seem to loose some perspective on what I want from this. I can't decide what I want to specialize on and my coding skills have not become astonishing or smth after one year. Maybe trough desperation because we had a lot of Machine learning and maths in the first two semesters, which made focusing and grinding on my coding skills very tough. Should I be concerned? What do you think?
Becoming a master at your craft takes time. Just keep learning and practicing meaningfully every day.
