HOW WELL DID THE 3-VALVE RESPOND TO (MECHANICAL) CHANGES IN CAM TMING, TO THE ADDITION OF A ZEX WET EFI NITROUS KIT OR THE INSTALLATION OF A VORTECH SUPERCHARGER KIT? These are not my favorite engines but if you own one, please keep it full of oil, and beat on it a little. Making this engine work a little, and sing a little, makes them live. Cam phasers pay the price of maintenance neglect first, and the oiling system isn't known for toughness. Fresh lube makes them happy, they will go 300K if you do.
    Great content Richard !

With CAI, 91 Octane tune (no 93 tune for that tuner), underdrive pulleys, on stock intake and exhaust, I got 307 hp at the wheels. Now I have added charge motion plate delete kit, headers and high flow cats, and a proper 93 octane tune, I will have my local shop do a fine tune on the dyno to see what improvement was made. Eventually, I will build up an all forged engine with ported heads and larger cams, but that is after my other projects are completed...

Just a note. The N2o boost wet can go safely to 1.47 times power boost. So 361 or 369 goes to 531 to 542 hp, but with an insane mid range torque blip, just like a nicely intercooled 7 pounds of boost. Despite the lower than normal gasoline plus N2o gain with the Zex, just 1.20 or so just being like 3 pounds of turbo boost, that Vortech is always softer on the drive train. Great Gains anyway you choose it!
