  • In today's episode, we make our way in Glencoe, Scotland, which happens to be one of the most beautiful places we've taken Creep yet! We get to wild swim some COLD water, hike a few miles into a cute town, and end the night with chef Kyle's famous (not really) dinner 🍝

    You need to remember one thing above everything else in the UK. It only ever rains on days ending in AY. And as Alfred Wainwright - the famous Lakeland Guide book writer - said, "there is no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing"

    Glad you guys got to the highlands. That's where the Celtic people are strong. The lowlands have a Germanic history. Back in King Henry VIII days he had Celts go to Northern Ireland and gave them land to put down Irish rebellions against the Crown.

    If you haven't already, try wearing 2 pairs of socks when hiking, the inner pair rubs against the outer pair, instead of your skin, avoiding blisters.🥾😢

    • @kyleandmadie
      @kyleandmadie  Před 11 měsíci

      Great advice!!! I (madie) ended up having 3 or 4 giant blisters at the end and could hardly walk the next day 🥲 when hiking back to the van, I actually took my sock on my one foot and folded it over so I had no sock on my heel, but at least had double sock where my bad blister was! We trekked 2 weeks to Everest base camp and I still didn’t have blisters that bad 😂😂

    Apparently over two minutes of brushing starts to effectively remove plaque.Better to invest in an electric brush though.Lifes too short.

    No front number plate...surprised you got that far without a pull from pc plod.

    • @kyleandmadie
      @kyleandmadie  Před 11 měsíci +1

      The state we are from in the US doesn't provide 2 plates! We only get one on the back :)

      @@kyleandmadie yeah. I've noticed that but it's not road legal in the UK. First police car that passes will pull you over. Surprised no one's mentioned this to you
      PS I hope you get away with it BC I can tell it's a perfectly innocent oversight but just the same, I thought it was only fair you knew(don't go near the motorways btw ANPR will set off the bells and whistles haha)

    • @kyleandmadie
      @kyleandmadie  Před 10 měsíci +1

      We actually drove around the UK for nearly a month, passing many police cars and have not been pulled over! I’m not sure how the laws work with foreign cars. Thanks for letting us know! We actually get a lot of people stopping us and telling us our front plate is missing 🤣

      @@kyleandmadieif you are visiting you are exempt from many requirements for full time residents. If you were to emigrate to the U.K. you'd have to register your vehicle and receive two new plates. The same would happen if you moved to California or any other state. Some states even have waivers for emissions if you live in a rural enough area or have a new vehicle.
